  1. Thanks girl, I'll try it this weekend and if there is a 'catch'... You'd be sure I'll be mailing you my bill.
  2. Some type of home based business. Brain storm some ideas and run with it.
  3. Found this while surfing - it happened January of this year (I'm surprised this is the first I read of it - shouldn't it have played on major stations and newspapers for weeks?!) Woman becomes quadruple amputee after giving birth Sanford mother says she will never be able to hold 4 p.m. Headlines News of the Strange Breaking News Alerts "I want to know what happened. I went to deliver my baby and I came out like this," Mejia said. Mejia said after she gave birth to Mathew last spring, she was kept in the hospital with complications. Twelve days after giving birth at Orlando Regional South Seminole hospital, she was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center where she became a quadruple amputee. Now she can not care for or hold her baby. "Yeah, I want to pick him up. He wants me to pick him up. I can't. I want to, but I can't," she said. "Woke up from surgery and I had no arms and no legs. No one told me anything. My arms and legs were just gone." Her 7-year-old son, Jorge, asks his mother over and over what happened to her. Neither she nor her husband has the answer. "I love her, so I'll always stick with her and take it a day at a time myself," said her husband, Tim Edwards. The couple wants to know how she caught streptococcus, during labor or after. She doesn't know. She knows she didn't leave the hospital the same. "And why, I want to know why this happened," she said. Her attorney, Judy Hyman wrote ORHS a letter saying, according to the Florida statute, "The Patients Right To Know About Adverse Medical Incidents Act," the hospital must give her the records. "When the statute is named 'Patients Right To Know,' I don't know how it could be clearer," Hyman said. The hospital's lawyers wrote back, "Ms. Mejia's request may require legal resolution." In other words, according to their interpretation of the law, Mejia has to sue them to get information about herself. That's the sticking point, the interpretation of the Patients Right To Know act, a constitutional amendment Florida voters passed a little more than a year ago. Mejia's other attorney, E. Clay Parker, said the hospital is not following the law "We were forced to file this and ask a judge to interpret the constitutional amendment and do right," Parker said. Mejia hopes the right thing is done. She said not knowing exactly why it happened is unbearable. She only hopes she'll be able to soon answer her little boy's question, 'What happened?' "He told me everyday, 'What happened,' and I don't have any answers for that," she said. ORMC said Mejia is requesting information on if there were other patients or someone on her floor with the streptococcus. They said, if they release that to her, that would be a violation of other patients' rights. 1. Pregnant woman goes in to deliver baby. 2. Woman gets anesthetized. 3. Woman wakes up with no arms or legs. 4. Hospital refuses to tell woman why her limbs were amputated. 5. Woman tries to invoke "Patient Right to Know Act." 6. Hospital tells woman she's not authorized to read her own medical file. Oh my God! I'm speechless and horrified!
  4. To the poster - what exactly are you studying that you think your above or smarter than nurses and makes you think you can put down someone who has chosen that career? You sound spiteful and mean - perhaps a somali nurse dumped you?
  5. Maybe she should make Hijrah to a muslim country instead of making life difficult for herself. And for the people foaming at the mouth - Niqaab is Sunnah, not obligatory. It is a choice not an order. I'm sorry - I wouldn't want a woman wearing niqaab representing me. Too much prejudiced people in the jury to risk it.
  6. Beerlula I'm not a mom so I can offer you only this in 'Surviving Motherhood': * Join a parenting website/forum such as Today's Parent, Babies, or Parents.. You'll enjoy interacting with various parents and reading about their experiences and advice/suggestions. * Subscribe to parenting magazines or borrow them from your local library and read, read, read. The more you are well informed, the better parent you can be and the better you are able to meet life's challenges. * Trust your judgement and don't let people convice you about the horrors of being a parent. I don't know why Somali women find that so entertaining - they like scaring young moms. * Don't hesitate about asking your hubby, family, & friends for advice and help. You don't it all your own your you'll just be tired ALL the time. * Have fun with your precious baby! They grow up waay to fast. Enjoy those sweet moments. NOW: SOL Mothers --> Come out of the woodworks, we know you exist!!!
  7. Could someone please tell me the provocative clothing that men in prison and children wear for them to be raped? Go ahead...I can wait. Or is it the case that men who rape are fcuking nutcases (no pun intended) who'd rape anything that moves regardless of what they're wearing?
  8. So far people indirectly recommended: * The Exorcist * The Grudge * The Omen * Friday the 13th * Night of the Living Dead * Dawn of the Dead Thanks all for contributing. Here is a gold star.
  9. How much do you guys like work life? I mean if you won $5 million dollars today - would you still be doing your job or quit in a flash? And if you did quit what would you do to occupy your time? Lot's of people say that they need 'intellectual stimulation' and adult company as reasons why they feel they need to work - is that true for ya'll? I never imagined having a 'productive life' meant spending over half of my waking day working couped up in an office or a building. Whenever I'm around friends and they're talking so passionately about their goals and work - I feel that there must be someting wrong with me because I don't feel the same way. I don't know. There must be more to life than this. Isn't there a point - no matter what type of job you hold - that the novelty wears off and it's just another mundane day?
  10. Modesty, I love most of your threads, your refreshing and real but you have some deep rooted problems with arab people that could only be resolved with years and years of therapy. Honestly - the sad irony is that you don't see yourself 'a.ss kissing' the gaalo by wearing the their western clothes - which I'm 100% sure you do. People who only pick on one race for their hate always amaze me - the same problems can be found amongst somalis and hundreds of other people. Why do you specifically choose the arabs?
  11. Has anyone seen Saw III yet? I don't like blood & gore scary movies so recommened the movies that made u pee in ur pants in fear or stay awake late into the night terrified to close your eyes or get off from under your protective comforter. It's been a long time since I've been frightened.
  12. I wouldn't mind sharing my husband if he was rich and divorcing him would mean I would have to adopt a less expensive lifestyle. Also if he beat me so that I would accept his decision. That's all.
  13. ^Right hon. Thanks. Back off Ngonge. I don't think it's a coincidence that a jew, of all the countries in the world, chooses a muslim one to poke fun at. And it is making fun of Kazakhastan (Sp?) as much as Americans - he makes them sound backward, disgusting, filthy people. He pretends to be proud that his sister is the number one prostitute in the country and regularly talks about 'his sister's and mother's' private parts. Since he's pretending to be an offical from that country - that is some major smearing. And everyone is laughing (including me...yeah I'm horrible). Now think this - if a muslim comedian came up saying something outrageous like that about Isreal or some jewish groups - you think ANY theatre in America or elsewhere will dare to show it? I think not. P.S. Little chimp - the post went along with the 'throw the jew down the well' song I was singing. I have nothing against him as a jew - I hate them all. lol kidding. Just Isreal.
  14. WHAT HAPPENED TO S.O.L IS PEOPLE LIKE YOU REALITY CHECK! PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO SHOW UP ONCE IN A WHILE AND COMPLAIN ABOUT THE LACK OF FUN TOPICS WHILE NEVER SEEMING TO CONTRIBUTE ANYTHING WORTHWHILE. :@ YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF. HOW DARE YOU COME HERE IN MY TURF AND INSULT ME LIKE THIS? ASK NOT WHAT S.O.L CAN DO FOR YOU BUT WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR S.O.L. YOU LITTLE APE. That goes for the rest of you too. Y'all make me sick - I'd been having more fun if I hung out at the morgue.
  15. [[Why guilty? It's just a film!]] Because the guy prances around half naked in the movie and the jew is making fun of a predomnately muslim country! :@ I shouldn't support that by paying my hard earned money to watch it. Get it. :"@
  16. Bobby dear, be a sweatheart and finish it. I'm bored here.
  17. My brother and I could hardly wait to see it this friday - we've been waiting for months...but I'm lately feeling a little guilty... lool@ throw the jew down the well.... Verse In my country there is problem, And that problem is transport. It take very very long, Because Kazakhstan is big. 18. Happy B day to you, Your 100 and 2. You smell like monkey, and look like one too!
  19. ...from moi of course. What's wrong with everyone? What happened to the people with exciting posts? The always interesting controversial folks? What even happened to the occassional teasing and fights we looked forward to on slow days? I mean miss those people who would grate on my nerves - please come back. Why is everyone brain dead? Am I missing something here? If you folks were any more boring, you'd be dead. For real. Tell me your problem, why your all pathetically silent, and I will try to diagnose you with the help of my ever trusty 'abnormal psychology' texbook. I'm ready.
  20. I wish I was living the simple life somewhere on a farm with alot of goats and cows. I hate city life.
  21. That man is holding his own skin! There is an exhibition in my town that is going on until January called the - BodyWorlds: The art of plastinated Cadavers. I really want to see it - it looks really cool and since I want to go into the health field I know that it would be educational too. Now, is there anything against this Islamically? Some people told me that it's haram to look at dead people for entertainment - although I wouldn't classify this exhibition as soley 'entertainment'. What do you think? more google images about body worlds
  22. Are you a sociologist Janna? You seem to be conducting all these studies/observations. Most of the single mother's I know are hard working, brave and responsible women who have been wronged. Perhaps, you have been hanging out with the few bad seeds. Anways, I agree with them taking time alone with their children to bond with them and raise them without the hassles of a new man and his new rules. I keep kidding my mom to get remarried before she gets too old but deep down I'm so glad she is satisfied with just us. I know plenty of kids who'd rather keep their mom to themselves for just a few more years. The shock of divorce or their dad dying coupled with a new marriage is sometimes too much.
  23. Thank you so much for sharing the article SOO MAAL. I was actually reading it today in the library and since I didn't have a library card, I had to leave it half finished and wait to read the rest until monday. I was so shocked that McLean's would publish such a blatantly racist, Islamophobic article. Not even subtle, blatant. I know what the author is trying to imply and the guy is a scary nutcase. I worry how many people think like him. Yet, I was happy. I'm glad they're worrying about the Muslim population - maybe they'll think twice from now on. P.S. Africa, to take another example, also has plenty of young people, but it's riddled with AIDS and, for the most part, Africans don't think of themselves as Africans: as we saw in Rwanda, their primary identity is tribal, and most tribes have no global ambitions. This comment gave me chills walahi. Will the west try to curb Muslim or Non-Western populations by introducing more disease and illnesses to wipe them out like they did in the past? Will there me mass, secret sterile surgeries given to women under the pretext of 'helping' them? This is not the first time that the west has been overly concerned with the rising population of Non-Western people? The question is, how far will they go to even things out?
  24. Exercise my a$$. That's the point. Seeker, reading my textbooks always puts me to sleep. Walahi. Try it.
  25. ^What are you talking about? Where do you see anything good about shedding your responsibilities? There is a reason why these marriages are mostly undercover, aight.
