Atirisho;798069 wrote: Interesting. I recently saw pictures of Gara'ad and I think it is breath taking. I am thinking of living there in the future. How friendly is the inhabitants there? are they hostile to non-Puntlanders? I would have thought Galkacyo would make the cut. It is the largest city in central Somalia and it will very much benefit from the oil in Puntland region. I think the city should have been added to the list. I think the list makes full sense if you take into account the immediate benefit. Someone who invests in property in Garacad will be at the very site of the oil rush. I think all of the other cities topped Gaalkacyo but you are right in that Gaalkacyo would be very deserving as a #11 or honorable mention.

All but 2 are in Puntland. 10. Sinujif - this tiny settlement, south of Garowe some miles, was the site of a Conoco well in the 1980s and may be the sight of the anticipated Nugaal drilling program 9. Qardho - it's the largest town on the Dharoor valley, the site of the historic Shabeel-1 site, and will certainly see a boom if we haven't already reported one 8. Gara'ad - on the coast of Mudug, this tiny pirate hub was the site of possible Chinese wells, and looks to be a major prospect for offshore oil 7. Hargeysa - as Somalia's second biggest city, its business community and markets would certainly feel the positive impact of oil production in neighboring Puntland region 6. Karin - this small Oasis town, southwest of Bosaso, will serve as a very promising resort area for the wealthy 5. Mogadishu - undoubtedly, as Somalia's capital and largest city it will gain the most from international attention as peace looms - oil or no oil 4. Eyl - recently cleansed of pirates and injected with international donor money for its roads, this town is rumored by some to be an end site for a pipeline in the Nugaal valley 3. Iskushuban - this scenic oasis town is the nearest major settlement to the Shabeel-1 well and will likely be made into a major food production area for employees in the growing region 2. Garowe - serves as the capital of the new federal state of Puntland, and sits on its own massive oil wealth doubling the Dharoor valley's estimated reserves 1. Bosaso - Puntland's largest city and main port, and Somalia's third-largest city and market, Bosaso is already equipped with a still-growing oil storage facility, and will be the end site of the pipeline that serves the Dharoor valley once production begins; the city is already experiencing a massive boom and has taken attention away from Somalia's other markets in Hargeysa and Mogadishu http://dissidentnation.com/10-best-places-to-invest-in-somalia-this-decade/

Great video, I enjoyed every second. Remember this my friend - 2012 is a lot different from 1971. These days you can go from empty lot to mega-city within 3 years. Not to mention, within 8 years of the union, UAE had the world's highest per capita GDP in 1980 at $126,000.

Eastern African oil and gas conference Somaliland invited.

Somalia;797675 wrote: It's starting to look pathetic. Why not focus on quartz and other minerals? looool. Showing up to an oil conference and not having oil, yet another mugged Somaliland situation. This is the saddest part: Africa Oil Corporation and many other Independents active in Eastern Africa. This company is giving a speech at the conference to announce their discovery in Puntland. Khat people are going everywhere they have no business at. -
Dr_Osman, don't waste your time with the secessionists. They are feeling the worst depression imaginable, hence the heightened obsession with Puntland. Don't kick a man when he's down, so just let them soothe their pain.

These khat-addicted animals are sick. An entire 10,000-word essay dedicated to Faroole's sub-clan. Subhanallah.

Somalia, don't waste your time with Nassir, he's the kind of bloke who hates Puntland and progress in general but pretends to support it every now and then so his BS hate-posts can go undetected. He's very bad at hiding his intentions. Do your best to avoid him and Taleexi, they are poison masquerading as your brothers.

I swear, Faroole has created the greatest cult of personality in Somali history. In just 3 years he has managed to build a following like I've never seen before. He has been mentioned more times the past year alone than Siad Barre or any other Somali leader.
-
As a Puntlander I totally support Sheikh Sharif, he is a good friend of Puntland, and I believe he even has the support of Faroole if Sharif wants to run again.

Somaliland and Somalia: Future Allies no Longer Deadly Foes
Timur replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in Politics
Some people have very active imaginations. -
Nassir and Taleexi strike me as bright guys who are sometimes forced into making silly comments and choices because of their disturbing hatred of Faroole. This girl and her idiotic 'You Won' topics are ridden with poor grammar and reasoning, anyone who considers it to be intelligent work needs to have their own intelligence evaluated. Do not let cuqdad throw you down a well.

Carafaat;795464 wrote: Dr.Osman, Indeed both have progressive Royal families with impressive histories. But Qatar has more Gas then Oil. Is there Gas in the Kingdom of Puntland as well? Actually yes, there is a lot of gas in coastal Puntland, you should read up on the recent Indian Ocean gas discoveries that stretch from Mozambique to Somalia.

New Political Phase Catapults Somaliland Aspirations

burahadeer;795461 wrote: where is the gulf of Aden?...part of the red sea I hope you are joking. The conversation ends here. No wonder the British don't want to work with these people, they are mentally stuck in the stone ages, or on some serious drugs. -

Sensei;795408 wrote: If it comes down to selling our resources to uplift and alleviate the troubles of Somalis, so be it. Very well said. People need to consider the priorities. When a drought is taking place, no one has the right to say that Somalia should wait to exploit its resources. If one barrel can feed 100 kids, then drill, baby, drill. These people like Somalina and Carafaat screaming from their publicly-funded estates should not tell poor Somalis that they should starve while they stuff their faces with pizza.

Somaliland got a new pirate prison, Puntland got a BP contract. This is nothing to celebrate for the khat state. -
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-02-26/u-k-in-talks-with-somalia-s-puntland-about-oil-observer-says.html Amazing! This is historic. The first barrel of oil, and the first step towards prosperity in all of Somalia's history is in front of us. Mansha Allah for this great moment!

This is gonna be the game changer. We should welcome the Ingriis and their drilling rigs, let the oil flow!

lol, Puntland WROTE the "federal constitution" you're referring to. Oh, did you think Shariif Sakin and Shariif Axmed wrote it? They can't even read kkk.

Is this a joke? Do these people think petitions get recognition? This is dumber than their protests.
