Bugland? Is it Bug as in Book or Bug as in insect?
-
Word on the street is the masked teen crew have just threatened Dhusomareeb and Gaalkacyo. They've been amassing troops in Beletweyn for days despite a heightened Ethiopian presence in nearby Kabalayr. They've also built a bridge in Bulo Burde, probably for ease of travel. In an attempt to secure their southern front they have also amassed troops in Gedo and built a road there, possibly to bottle-neck troops into an offensive against the Dooloow camp. This would seem like a better strategy than taking Mogadishu outright. Every AU soldier they kill and every block they take is more attention on them, but no one will hear of these countryside conquests. I think that's the logical explanation for their emphasis on venturing towards Dhusomareeb and further north. Furthermore, Puntland's emphasis on the northern front and the allocation of large sums of money to the Bosaso-based PIS and the militias of Faroole, Cabdisamad and Ilkojiir have basically left Mudug demilitarized and vulnerable to attack. In the next few days we'll likely see two clashes between Ethiopia and Al-Shabaab in Gedo and Hiiraan regions. What are your thoughts on this, is it just a show of arms or another attempt to expand?

What's the source? Your local mafrish? Eritrea is doing well, and they don't take handouts from anyone. I don't even know how you can compare a respected country like Eritrea to a pseudo-state whose only consumer economy is khat.

Galkacyu: security sweep starts following the success of Garowe Bosaso
Timur replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
I really hoped that Faroole would dismantle the group, we do not need it in Puntland. It is specifically because of PIS that the security situation has become rotten. Puntland's security can only be guaranteed by safeguarding the peoples' freedoms (including freedom from the state) and their well-being. The second we start to setup a police state in a volatile part of the world we will crumble. The only hope we have is a return of Abdullahi Yusuf or a forced disarmament of PIS. -
And the dalxiis continues... I think this guy got into politics just to see the world for free.

I agree, the government without Cumar C/Rashid has no legitimacy.
-
Inside sources have revealed him. I forgot his name but I do know his background. He comes from Cumar Cabdirashid's clan but from the division that resides in north Mudug akin to former TFG president Abdullahi Yusuf. Its not like anyone expected any different. Discuss.

Galkacyu: Puntland troops arrest masjid Salahudin Imaam
Timur replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
I read the story this morning, this case has been developing for weeks now. Do you have any commentary on this issue? And what's the mood in Galkacyo, will the residents forget and move on or will there be further chaos like in Awdal recently? Despite my location, I'm not reer Mudug lol. -
If Somalia-Online was Somalia and not an obscure forum on the far corners of the internet filled to the brim with passionate yet mentally empty Obama-style liberals, Al-Shabaab would fall today. But this isn't Beletweyn, this isn't Mogadishu, this isn't Kismayo and this ain't no Baidoa, this is SOL where the dwellers try to vainly paint Somalia as a Western country forgetting that what may fly here may not fly there. In essence, people here have lost touch with reality over there.

Khat must be flowing in reer Waqoyi households lately, there seems to be a repeat of certain topics and reactions over and over again.

More or less I'd like to know about the current events, guys, I don't see why you're all reminiscing about the shell of a former city. If anyone's got the latest scoop from the ground that would be great.

I think everyone's had enough of the village politics, we can all be certain the recent events in Awdal, Hargeisa, and Galgala are totally unimportant on a world scale. Lets talk about the capital. I'd like to ask now, what's going on in Xamar. There's been relative quiet for the last week, what's the cause of that? What is happening in the background, rearming, reinforcements? How likely is an invasion of Galguduud?

This is all a terrible joke, and its not nearly as funny as the Maakhir hoax in 2007. I wonder why people embarrass themselves with these pseudo-states. Come up with a real plan instead of playing rebel against a clan regime (Hargeisa).

Cowards. Fortunately, for every coward who defects to the separatists there are patriots graduating from the military academy in Carmo.

Libaax, I checked the link in your images, they were uploaded on SomaliaOnline. How were you able to do so, I can't find that service.

Locations Listed: USA, UK, UAE, Canada, and even Sudan. Call me logical but the only conclusion that one can draw is that people INSIDE Somalia support the ambitious ski-masked teenagers. Asking diaspora what they want out of Somalia is like asking Irish-Americans what they think about the status of Northern Ireland. Let Somalis choose their own fate. So far there haven't been any anti-Shabaab rallies in the capital nor Puntland nor even the Ahlu-Sunnah strongholds. Somalis genuinely like the Shabaab, it makes sense after all, Somali women from Minnesota to Mogadishu are donning indho-shareer voluntarily, its not hard to see why the public strongly supports a fundamentalist regime. Good night folks

Al Shabaab ban more NGO's this time including HORN RELIEF
Timur replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Mine is an attack on rhetoric, after all we are all just words on this site, not the people behind them. Xudeedi's rhetoric is that of the same type that trash sites like Galgalanews have been spewing lately. It is the same rhetoric that other "Maakhir" natives like Nassir have been spewing. It is the rhetoric of political and social outcasts who are trying to validate their claim to legitimacy by barking at a much larger, more noble entity [Puntland]. If Xudeedi was unique in his opinion it would certainly be a personal attack but this is an attack on a frame of mind that is diseased, one that thrives off of mischief and lives for the 15 minutes of fame. Don't ignore it, these like-minded thinkers on SOL and the Somali community are the spearhead of anarchy. -

Watching Xudeedi's posts is like watching a small dog bark across a fence at a much larger human. All it takes is for the dog's owner (Puntland) to yank its chain or throw it a bone to change its mood. -
Another favorite town in Puntland, this one is seeing a lot of investment lately, I'd be interested to see what it brings in 5 - 10 years at this pace. Downtown New Hotel East Africa Universtiy Amal Express building Newly-opened Hotel Health Ministry

I'm not sure why they built such a large prison, it could probably house a good portion of the town's population. I think beheading and public executions are better at enforcing law than sending people to palatial prisons. Just my two cents about the dollars wasted here.

Why anyone would trust a site named "Riinji.com" is beyond me.
