Somaliland: Laasqoray nationlink hostages released
Timur replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
If you khat people want to be independent so bad, why do you consider yourselves part of Somalia's political problems, why do you keep posting articles from Somalia and few from your khat state? -
Will Somalia President Sharif’s PM choice antagonize Puntland?
Timur replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in Politics
I just came here to smirk I enjoyed watching the secessionist struggle to portray his khat-stricken homeland as a place that is taken seriously by the international community. Its become like a mark of shame for international leaders to be seen with Secessionland kingpins -
Boqor Keenadiid had plans to invade Soqotra but decided last minute to head south and take Hobyo. Actually, I'm not quite sure the details, I think it was Hobyo that made him quit his plans for Socotra, it may have been the long-standing feud with his cousin that caused him to skip out on Yemen, but whatever it was, the reason was well within the scope of Somali military expansion. But, Somalis do not live there, I don't know where you get the idea.

Does every fart in this enclave get reported? I don't know if two guys fighting over a watering hole in that village deserves a topic on the front page...

Looks like the civil war began in 2008 for most people in this topic. For those of us who saw the effects of the war for the 17 years prior to Shabaab's rise, they are angels in this matter. Personally, I see the most staunch anti-Shabaabists today as the Shariif nut-huggers who were pro-Shabaab yesterday in opposition to A/Y. Regardless, its funny that these fools didn't condemn the war of the last 20 years but they raise their voices today like wounded cattle when a few teenagers start to preach to the ignorant of a new and productive Somali society. Good night

Wiil Cusub, so the khat addicts believe that Puntland is teaming up with Al-Shabaab to attack Hargeisa? I'd like to try some of their green leaf, it sounds out of this world. -

Who do the weapons belong to? -
If you were alive in 2007 you'd know there was an independent administration in the regions of Sanaag and Western Bari. But that didn't last, do you remember that part? Stop barking, your people don't stand for nonsense and they support Puntland state 100%, they remember the disaster that became Maakhir State.

I think you should worry about the rag-tag Hargeisa militias in Oog getting picked off by rival clans.

Somaliland and Puntland to cooperate on security [secessionists dance]
Timur replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Its just tragic that the bigger powers do not see Somalia as a valuable asset, and the only attempt to support these fledgling states is done in an attempt to SHOW the world that those areas are "under control." Reality speaking, a very tiny amount of aid will be given to those regions in an attempt to maintain the balance with Shabaab or to at least maintain the civil war, these states will not ever get enough money to defeat Shabaab or have the backing to assert peaceful dominance in other regions. I personally look forward to any infrastructural aid that can be given to Puntland but I do not want a penny of military aid going to our state, its not worth it to send young Puntlanders to fight against other young Puntlanders and Somalis coming from the south for some fat White man's gain. The fact that these NATO queers are trying to use Puntland as cannon fodder makes me want to see Shabaab win the greater war just to see their reaction. -

I don't know why khat junkies are discussing the exploits of Somalia's noble vigilante coast guard.

I wish we could believe in this but its a complete joke. They are doing it in vain just to tell people that they have things in Somalia "under control." Its inevitable that Al-Shabaab will comb through the rest of the country shortly, we need to worry about what we can do to help a post-Shabaab Somalia rather than trying to stop fate and lengthen the civil war. Americans are the last people who should be trusted with fixing things, especially in the debacle in Afghanistan and Iraq, and their mistakes which are leading Pakistan down that same road.

lol, What a joke. Did anyone notice that reer Waqoyi didn't talk about ictiraaf for the entire past year? I think Xaji is just trying to save face for a failed mission.

Originally posted by Taleexi: Some merchants of SSC & Maakhir never fail to disappoint you sometimes. Its unbelievable. When their own folk sell out to the self-isolated northern enclave for low office positions they always point the finger at Puntland as if Puntland drove them to the point of selling out their entire nationhood and sovereignty.

In the summer of 2009 we saw a line of trucks decorated with Dahabshiil banners sponsoring the oil and mineral fact-finding mission in Bari. Months later Dahabshiil wrote a check to sponsor a hospital in Garowe and opened a branch immediately afterward. Months after that they announced that they will build their largest office frontage in Bosaso. Now they are sponsoring the new hospital being built in Galkacyo. Over the last year we have seen xawaalas taking vast interest in Puntland with branches opening everywhere and new hotels sprouting in Garowe for some sort of expected accommodation. My take on this is simple; there is beyond proof that Puntland holds the clues to the next oil venture in the Horn and everyone is scrambling to get a piece. This has been in the works for years and the interest in the region has been building since 2006 with the start of the Bender Qassim Int'l airport project and it has been peaking since 2008. What's your take on this matter?

The writer behind that article fails in the same regard as the predecessors he's referring to. We should stop treating Somalia like a legless victim we keep tending to. If we want to fix Somalia we'll have to do more than just "leave on short notice" to mediate between petty tribal disputes, we have to stop the tribal disputes period. In order to fix Somalia we have to abandon the West and go back, ACT like Somalis rather than functioning as the Black counterparts to the hundreds of European mediators and NGOs in the country. In 2015 when I have completed my current tenure, I am moving to Somalia to work in resource management and logistics. If we get enough Somalis doing what I plan to do, we will have no problem in the future.
