lol, this JB guy looks pretty desperate to paint make-believe enemies for his tribal state. The article is on point about northwest region's position in Somalia, you shouldn't turn a single sentence into a mental masturbation marathon.

General Siciid is an uncle of mine, very close with my family. I had the pleasure of hosting him in my home during his visits to America and we receive many phone calls from him, the most recent one was yesterday, he was just greeting my father.

Originally posted by NASSIR: A scorching, desert, sparsely populated region has the least economic significance for the rest of Somalia. At least, Sool & Sanaag regions have fertile areas & untapped proven natural resources. What an ironic statement. It must say a lot about the people when that "scorching" region is producing glass hotels, shopping malls and universities, also attracting thousands from those "fertile" Sool and Sanaag regions to migrate. Someone once told me; put a Puntlander in hell and people will eventually want to go there.

Hiiraale's 'shacab' are in Gedo, but he's headed to Kismayo - what an irony. If he wants to do anything constructive, tell him to build a university in Bardhere instead of a villa in Kismayo - the old fool still thinks its the 90s Morgan-Aidiid era. If he was a constructive leader like the guy in Cadaado, Shabaab wouldn't even kick him out of his territory, but the geriatric thug was minding other peoples' business in Jubboyinka. Good luck to him in his vain mission but he doesn't stand a chance outside of Gedo this time around.

Why are you recycling an article from 2007? Do you really need attention that bad for your tribal state fantasy? Sorry to break the bad news but your people tried Maakhir state naively and they failed miserably, crawling back to the hand that feeds. Next time, think smart and don't start a state that consists of a string of villages unless you have secure methods of operation.

Its strange seeing secessionists high on khat making jokes about Puntland's noble cause in Galgala. Security will be brought to the people of that region and the state will continue to spread peace.

These guys remind me of those Palestinian political factions that declare every prick with a suicide belt to be a shaheed even if he's fighting for a communist militia. Taking up arms on behalf of your clan or to protect khat trucks is not jihad. Create a unique title for those drug barons but shaheed is a bit of a stretch, and if I'm correct that's religious blasphemy. I don't see how those guys are different from the USC militia or the Somali government troops who fought in those wars. I guess every moron sees his local town hero as a shaheed. In that case, my buddy who was sent to prison for dealing crack is also a martyr and my other buddy who leads a local gang is Amir al-Mumineen.

Dhusa Mareb: Al Shabaab enter town through heavy fighting

The latest is that Dhusomareeb returned to Shabaab's hands, they are in control tonight. Check Dayniile and the smaller sources that are based primarily in Somalia. -

Originally posted by Mad_Mullah: I think Shabab will lose IF the majority of the city is Sufi, if not Allahu A'lam what might happen. This Sufi/Salafi thing is very exaggerated. People in Dhusomareeb were living just normally under Shabaab's rule several years ago; political setbacks kicked Shabaab out, not public discontent. And it seemed like Dhusomareeb functioned just fine under the Salafi courts - its all about clan at the end of the day, that's all Somalis worship. The people in Dhusomareeb only trust an organization run by their clansmen. That's all there is to it. If Ahlu Sunnah had actual civilian support they would not need Ethiopia to arm them. -
Dhusa Mareb: Al Shabaab enter town through heavy fighting

Originally posted by Gabbal: Latest is that Al Shabaab has retreated from the town: Source That's old news, keep up with the updates; Hiiraan and Shabelle are outdated. They withdrew temporarily to re-arm and re-group when they heard Ahlu Sunnah reinforcements from Cabudwaaq and Guriceel were arriving. When they re-armed, Al-Shabaab returned and destroyed the Ahlu Sunnah militia, now Al-Shabaab is in full control of Dhusomareeb. -

Originally posted by General Duke: ^^^Al Shabaab wont hold on to the say, but this is a major headache for Sharif Hotel. Actually the Sufi's still control Abudwaq and Xiiraale and its getting complicated.. I have no clue about that Xiiraale town, must not be significant. As for Cabudwaaq, those guys don't give a crap about this Sufi thing, they know its a political ploy by the USC folks, they withdrew long ago and are now forming "Central State." I think the strength of Ahlu Sunnah diminished greatly, I think this time they might not return; their entire force is now dependent on warlords, and that's their downfall. Not to mention, Al-Shabaab have support in Cadaado now from that entire clan. I am not confident in Shabaab staying in Dhusomareeb either but I don't think Ahlu Sunnah has the steam to carry on. -
Dhusa Mareb: Al Shabaab enter town through heavy fighting
Timur replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Shabaab took Dhusomareeb, Ahlu Sunna came back and Al-Shabaab vacated, then Al-Shabaab hit back and took the entire city through force. As of the moment, Al-Shabaab is in control of Dhusomareeb and the Sufis lost Cadaado to the pro-Shabaab Ximan & Xeeb administration - Sufis are boxed-in and they won't be welcome in Cabudwaaq either. -

Excellent job, northern Somali police forces. I only wish they would burn the khat that has kept many northerners stuck dreaming about recognition. -

The political reality of Somalia Today: Job posting..

Originally posted by Libaax-Sankataabte: $3000/month is not a great pay indeed. But then again it all depends on your situation. Are you kidding? $3000 is GREAT if you don't have expenses to pay. As a public, international job its also tax-free. That's $36,000 year straight, with zero expenses. For a typical person that's $36,000 as a bonus since they usually spend their entire income every year. -

What are they gonna do, cook for the Ugandan troops?

You can only expect khat addicts from khatland to masturbate to news like this. Never expect nobility from a junkie.

I enjoy seeing this kind of reception held for Puntland's royal families.

This anti-terror methods are making the people of Maakhir safer. Its a win-win scenario for all.

Originally posted by Secessionist: blah blah blah ... khat driven babble ... blah blah blah What does it matter to you what the relationship between Yemen and Puntland is? Puntland is a respected community member that is invited to neighboring states, meanwhile Khatland is out pretending to be a real state and the whole world is tired of it. I bet your leader gets a kick out of meeting with tribal princes and travel ministers from UK and Djibouti.
