Erigavo is of mixed population and both sides can argue as to who it belongs.

I was only taking this to it the inevitable conclusion. We are stuck between a rock and a hard place, on one side we have a recalicant partialy hostile population , and on the other the international community which treats colonial borders (meaningless scribblings on a map made by some white man)as divinely ordained. Somalilanders have been betrayed by thier own leaders, and infact somaliland is a ship without a captain. This issue is central to our future and has to be addressed. The solution in this case is to secure the traditional clan areas loyal to Somaliland in Sool, and Sanaag. Mixed cities like Erigavo will be secured Buhhodle and it environs secured by force becuase it intersect the future border and canynabo district. A security zone as a buffer will also have to be Established. After that the population of the rest of sool and eastern sanaag can sink into the sea for all we care. This is a more realistic goal and millitarily feasable, no long unsecured supply lines, little hostile population to deal with and limited affect of geurilla attacks with the security zone. Why waste time on large defendable cities like LA only an ***** would do that, and it will ofcourse be a humanitarian disaster, since our men will not fight block by block but uses its superior quantity of heavy artillary to destroy the city and kill civillians. A somaliland attack on LA will be defeated decisvely and we will be humiliated. Ofcourse it will be ********* to renounce territorial claims on the rest of British Somaliland, nobody gives away anything for free and this will be held out until negotialtions can take place with whichever Somali government succeeds. I hope our brothers understand that we will not repeat 1960, we will not hand over control of our lives and destiny to someone else, we will not be helpless lambs to be slaughtered as in 1988. The population statistic are credible and correspond well with the only census done in Somalia the 1975 census. and when will people learn that the size of the land has little to do with population. Its like looking at the vast empty lands in the Sahara and saying look how big it must contain millions. Lascanood is big and has grown from the official 20,000 in 1991 to approximatley 120,000 today, but it is not 300,000, 300,000 probably is closer to the actual size of the population of sool itself. Ofcourse there is a millitary solution to the border issue, but definatley not the way its been handled, and not with the severe internal disputes, and not with a goverment who's loyalty to the cause is in question.

You all know very well that war is unaviodable, your avoidance of the Somaliland issue and hiding your heads in the sand will not suffice when a fully functioning government is installed in the south. When that happenes war is guarenteed as you would attempt to foolishly enforce your dream of Sacred unity. If war is comming in the future i say why wait, why not start it now, why not secure sool and Sanaag. It is not about right or wrong it is about opposing aspirations. Somaliland will not wither away, even if that is your fantasy, you will have to face up to the reality. It depends on your defenition of attacked. If you mean that the Somaliland Forces launched an attacked on the local millitias then you are wrong. Somaliland forces have been near Lascanood for a long time now, They sometimes patrol upto 15KM or less from Lscanood proper to intice the Puntlanders to attack, to provoke them. This is because in the open ground we rule,in Lascanood you have the advantage and any attack would be foolish and inhuman by any standards. In either case it is the people of eastern Sool who will suffer , not Toghdeerians or people of bari. We need to wait for more informations but this looks like a Puntland attack.
