Newly-found Somali company to bring peace to country Five Somali companies signed an agreement here on Sunday to establish a joint company providing much-needed electricity and gas infrastructure to the under- developed country. The agreement was signed at the sideline of the round table meeting after the closing of the United Nations' Somalia Conference in Istanbul. Sharif Ahmed Said, director of the Somalia Business Council, said: "this project will give Somali people the peace dividend that has eluded them for so long." The Trans-National Industrial Electricity and Gas Company will start with an investment of 1 billion US dollars from the partners and other investors. The five companies, which asked to remain unnamed for the moment, will provide the initial 300 million dollars down payment. The five companies are all local, not international. The remaining funding will be provided by individual, not institutional, investors and by the manufacturers themselves, Abdullahi Hussein, spokesman for one of the companies told Xinhua. The company aims to implement the Somalia Peace Dividend Project, a labor intensive electricity and gas infrastructure program to provide these services for the new industrialization of Somalia, and will be carried out in two phases....... Source Anybody know anything about these and who this companies and individuals may be?

^^yeah i'm not too worried about them creating humans, as i know they can't. but what worries me is if this bacteria manges to break out from the lab, and say combined with the flu virus. what would be the consequences. man will destroys itself by its own hand. humans today have a serious god complex.
-
You can't control evolution (God). It only takes one of these bacteria to mate with another and you have serious and posibly extinction problems. Not a good idea. people only seem to be seeing the potential postives whilst ignoring the possible catastrophic consequences.

first heard of rumours about it from friends of friends whilst on holiday in Somalia one year ago. Never thought much of it and dismissed it as heresay. I finally got a chance to speak,(quite randomly) to his neighbour of 10+ years. He's somali and i asked him about the rumours. He was suprised and went on to tell me that the entire family are from Somalia, even told me where his DAD was born which corresponded well with what my friend had told me about his father. Not satisfied with that i went on to find out he's related to some of my other neighbours (wondered why they always called him apti) and always spoke to him in Somali and he replied. it turns out both his parents are from a tribe in Sanaag, and the man is as Somali as me. I saw his younger brother the other day for the first time and casually remarked how Somali he looked.(had typical look ) His reaction of sheer horror and his dismissive remarks sent alarm bells ringing in my head. anyway to cut along story short i started speaking to him in Somali and he understands and reponds in that typical purposely delayed and broken Somali. You know the one where you think your being taken for a ride. it turns out he was a refugee in yemen beofre arriving in europe, so i dont really know what happened to him in those years to be ashamed of his heritage.
-
that was probably the easy one. what of my other friend who i recently found out was lying about his mixed heritage. it turns out he's 100% Somali. because he's adamant he's half Yemeni. so if i bring up with him what i've learned from some very reliable sources it will be embarrassing for me; to bring him out of his closet in such a direct mannner. you probably think i have poor choice in friends. LOL
