I think It is control method in which the admin of this site are then able to exercise control over the content and ensure the continued Qaultiy of this site which is one of the best somali sites i have frequented Its very effective control method against the trolls who invade almost every other Somalian discussion board.

In Djibouti, the country's official languages are French, and Arabic. Somali doesnt' even show up on the screen. Remember, this is a country where Somalis make over 65% of the population.

We are Somali, we speak Somali... so we should teach Somali. I agree that with you, Ameenah. The official language should become Somali, but there shouldnt' be second official language. That would mean, everything will have to be written in both languages. Just think about---writing everything in two language. The street signs, will have to be written in two languages. That wouldnt 'be fun at all.

Wadani, bull's eye man. No single capital City. a loose federal system ,with each region having a capital city. The US gov't is federal, and there is JUST ONE single capital city. Federal means, there has to be a central node. You people are attaching much importance to the capital city, in which it doesnt necessarily have. Look at Washington DC. Its not even a state, and doesnt' even have all the perks other states enjoy. It only serves one purpose, and that is being a symbolic city. the federal capital should be moved every five years or so to spread the development. Development you say----lets look at W DC. They are doing worse in terms of economic growth, than the other cities in America. Just like you have said, everyone will invest what ever little money they have in their own state. Its best that Xamar remains the capital city of the new Somalia, because of the symbolic statue that it has.

Any country can bomb another country, if they have a good reason to do so. There are many time in history, when countries attacked each other without UN approval, or any UN involvement. The reason that BUSH badly wants the UN to approve his war on Iraq is, because he'd get support from all over the world. And that is not the same when you are going alone.

Originally posted by Bari_Nomad: Why does it deserve to be the capital? 1Luv Because its been that way since the beginning? It can be the capital all it wants to, but its not gonna be the most important city in Somalia. Just like DC is not the most important state in America. Wealth i think is what makes a city important, and Xamar has no wealth now. Boosaaaso and Hargeisa are the two most well off cities in Somalia---when we look it economically.

I have heard of GALCOM, and i know they have a website on the Net. Both Galcom, and NationLink have websites on the net. Would any of you believe if i said they are more *CELL-PHONE* users in Somalia, than they are those who use land line phones? Yea, its amazing, and its now becoming a common thing in all of Africa. Cellphones are outgrowing land line phones. Its just amazing. -

Why not Fanancial Aid? Most people that i know all get Financial Aid (FAFSA) from the government, and it comes with no strings attached. You are qualified to recieve it as long as you maintain a grade of D or better.

Don't know what his plan is do you? Its OIL, but more importantly he wants to keep America's positiion as being the worlds only superpower. Invasion of Iraq also means, Iran will be contained, and wouldnt' pose any threat to America.
