  1. lol@ Bee Just waiting for that confirmation ey Laakin shaki kuma jiro, waa siday Caakifah sheegtay... "meeshaan isku hobo baan aadi lahaa". To be honest, if he is a decent, god fearing individual then you will eventually love him back.

Indeed, you must compromise and sacrifice, but it should never be antagonizing
  3. Originally posted by SuNsHyNe: Well what if you've achieved some of them, so they're no longer your priority? How do you prioritise then?! Well, you prioritize what's left. For example if you already got an Education and Career under your belt. Then, in logical order you would have Marriage Children then your age range 21-24

Ameenah walalo I can guarantee when that biological clock starts ticking hmmm anything is possible. I have seen a few dead gorgeous ladies in their infancy being extremely untouchable but at the end of the day and for their standards, they go for people who you wouldn’t otherwise think where her type. lol walee, you seem to got us (woman) figured You read that ladies, Shaqii's advice is once you hear that clock ticking you know that's your cue to grab the first faarax with a fantax to hit a home run. . On a serious note, why settle? marriage is considered to be a life time commitment, so if you're going to take that leap make sure is someone who has atleast a quality you appreciate, else you're setting yourself up for a mousetrap .
  5. The tittle of the film "Rajo" should give you a clue of the message the producer is trying to convey. To me, it sounds like a realistic movie. Our people tend to think Somalis never do wrong and we class ourselves as being "saints". Among us we have those who are selling/using drugs, guns and getting upto all kind of things which are both unlawful and unislamic behaviour. Whether it's "Unsomali" or not, this film unveils the current situation in our community. Sadly, this will not be a learning curve but rather dismissal from our part. I wonder how much longer will we remain in denial?

  9. Sisters if cooking is considered a highly romantic gesture when it comes to our guys, then you have a lot to learn... Afcourse, there alot more somali woman who can cook compare to men, but those brothers who can cook, know how to COOK better than some of us sisters...lol So, it is probably in your best interest not to let him near the kitchen door, hadii cuntadiisu kaa macaanaato dee waxaad haysaaba iska yar...

  11. Mobb_Deep Good advice brother. Conquest either way you're gonna have to invest and as Mobb_deep said it depends on how bad you want this, if it's a one off thing then it might not be worth going through all this hassle, or maybe not . Anyhow, good luck.

  13. Salaam Calaykum First of all what format is the Video, VHS, DV, S-VHS or 8mm? Secondly, can you gain access to an eddting lab? because if the video has not been capured in Dv (digital vidoe) mode you'll need equipment that has Analogue to digital capabilities. Lets assume that your video is in Dv format, now all you need is Adobe Premier and a firewire cable to import your video into premier. Once the video is on the time-line and you at the frame you want (scene) then go to File - export frame Save it (make sure you know where you're saving to) and Bingo you've got yourself a still image (the picture might be a bit fuzzy but that can be sorted in any photo editing software). if you get stuck let me know. I hope that helps p.s. Alternatively you could get the experts to do it for a ridiculous amount of money Peace

I see what you mean sis, there was a time i felt that way but these days even the basic requirement are not filled, lol so make some room looks like spinsterhood is here to stay.
  16. This is probably the scaryest document I've ever read, sure it's been said that they're the "single superpower in the world" but never have there been something so obvious and blatantly publicized since Hitler's Mein Kampf. " The Project for the New American Century, or PNAC, is a Washington-based think tank created in 1997. Above all else, PNAC desires and demands one thing: The establishment of a global American empire to bend the will of all nations. They chafe at the idea that the United States, the last remaining superpower, does not do more by way of economic and military force to bring the rest of the world under the umbrella of a new socio-economic Pax Americana." According to PNAC, America must: * Reposition permanently based forces to Southern Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East; * Modernize U.S. forces, including enhancing our fighter aircraft, submarine and surface fleet capabilities; * Develop and deploy a global missile defense system, and develop a strategic dominance of space; * Control the "International Commons" of cyberspace; * Increase defense spending to a minimum of 3.8 percent of gross domestic product, up from the 3 percent currently spent. The PNAC report also: * refers to key allies such as the UK as 'the most effective and efficient means of exercising American global leadership'; * describes peace-keeping missions as 'demanding American political leadership rather than that of the United Nations'; * reveals worries in the administration that Europe could rival the USA; * says 'even should Saddam pass from the scene' bases in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait will remain permanently -- despite domestic opposition in the Gulf regimes to the stationing of US troops -- as 'Iran may well prove as large a threat to US interests as Iraq has'; * spotlights China for 'regime change' saying 'it is time to increase the presence of American forces in southeast Asia'. This, it says, may lead to 'American and allied power providing the spur to the process of democratisation in China'; * calls for the creation of 'US Space Forces', to dominate space, and the total control of cyberspace to prevent 'enemies' using the internet against the US; * hints that, despite threatening war against Iraq for developing weapons of mass destruction, the US may consider developing biological weapons -- which the nation has banned -- in decades to come. It says: 'New methods of attack -- electronic, 'non-lethal', biological --will be more widely available ... combat likely will take place in new dimensions, in space, cyberspace, and perhaps the world of microbes ... advanced forms of biological warfare that can 'target' specific genotypes may transform biological warfare from the realm of terror to a politically useful tool'; * and pinpoints North Korea, Libya, Syria and Iran as dangerous regimes and says their existence justifies the creation of a 'world-wide command-and-control system'. I recommend you read the full paper. The fundamental essence of PNAC's ideology can be found in a White Paper produced in September of 2000 entitled "Rebuilding America's Defenses: Strategy, Forces and Resources for a New Century."

Dearest Sophist. To be addressed in such reputable manner, One can only be delighted . I see what you mean though, compare to the rest of europe, london is unplanned and grubby. However, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else,

I tell though, I am tired of londons' buses...the only place where you wait 45 mins for a bus and come 3 all at once. First 1 goes straight pass  , 2nd one, only the first 3 people get on (known for their orderly formed queues) If you're lucky the 3rd one would be half empty.... Oohhh there is nothing like london transport, the only guarantee you have to make you forget the stress day you had at work.

  23. This is a sad and disappointing issue that is growing in our community more so than ever before and there would be no gain in pointing the finger because as far as I am concerned they are both to blame. Whatever happened to family values, morals, trust, loyalty, respect and you fulfilling your rights of companionship and him fulfilling the main and important obligations that are due upon him? I say there is lack of harmony between the Somali husband and his wife these days. Period.!!! Ramadan Kariim
  24. Hebel Thank you for your contribution  , but these days age has nothing to do with how knowledgeable one is when it comes to Somali Literature.
