It would be a little too much to say that there is a whole culture of self loathing amongst Somalis. The type of people you have described make up a minute number but boy don't they make such an impression lol. I also wouldn't say there was something particularly Somali about this. In my experience it is something that also occurs amongst other minority communities. I have friends that are Iraqi, Afghan, Chinese, Vietnamese etc who have all mentioned coming across people from their own communities with the same attitude you have described. A whole variety of reasons (or experiences) could explain why certain people act this way. For this reason its always best to be as polite as possible. If however you come across any seriously nightmarish cases then take it from me keep well away!

^^JB, No Ibtisam's thread was a space for the everyday chit chat that you guys are famous for. This one is about posting up questions. So JB the next time you get that inspired feeling that leads you to come up with threads like "why are woman fat?" just know there is a space ready to recieve it.

Firstly this was merely a suggestion. I figured I had nothing to lose if I just tried. It isn't about telling you and others not open your own threads (im not that bossy) but about creating one thread in which you can throw all your random questions. Its alright if you don't have a question I expect Hunguri will though lol.

MC Xamar - I decided to turn this into an open thread. This means that 8539 and 4964 etc can ask as many questions as they like. Its all about directing energy into one thread instead of several of them (unless ofcourse the question demands a seperate thread) 4964 If you have any questions just post it up here and the next person to respond (im expecting it to be 8539) can give their two cents.
