It was just meant to be an indirect way of reviving the old fears of Obama being *gasp* 'Muslim' but people will see this as the fairly pathetic act of desperation that it is. I would have prefered it if the Obama camp just laughed this off but as LST has pointed out this is politics. He looks fly though.

It was a special moment. I got up early to watch it live in the city. The number of people who went out of there way to do so (young parents, the elderly, office workers etc) clearly demonstrated just how significant this moment was for this country. Rudd really did deliver.
