Not sure what happened to all the press releases and campaigns that used to mark the day. It also seems a bit strange that we were hearing about reports and initiatives regarding the gender pay gap only a few weeks ago. Why did they not save them for IWD? It would have been better timing. Next year I'A. Maybe some of the SOL sisters could organise events? I would attend a shiisha and faarax bashing session. Nah, I is messing. Horaa waxaa loo yiri, "wax la is faro fariid laguma noqdo." Marka awalba reer galbeed ku dayasho ayey kaa aheyde, maadan rabin inaad maalinta dumarka caleemaha u ruxdid! Mideeda kale, waxaan ku qoslayaa dumarka Sanadkaas oo dhan hal maalin laga siiyay, oo la leeyahay intaas ayaa xushmad ugu filan!

  3. ^Good intentions, indeed. But brother never expect anything from SOL because, in my views, I think they had done all they could in connecting all these somalis in various parts of the world. The most important aspect of all is to collect funds among us, and send it to the neediest people back home, mainly the drought striken victims. For I am sure, if we trust others on this obligation, they will either neglect, or misuse our funds. Again it is us getting togather that is important, not SOL or others organizing our efforts to their preffered channels. Howsha aan galno, aqyaarta!
  4. Shame on Johnny, the bad kid in the corner! How dare you publicise your shame when Allah (sw) has concealed you from us, and yet you brag about the sickening dillema you caught in! Shame on you, stupit waaxid!
  5. Yes, saaxiib, this group is well versed in the horn of Africa, and they are currently dealing with the drought issues, mainly in Somalia. I contacted with them several times, and actually I find them very honest in their methodologies. One of their representitives is bound to our State to raise money from us, and Muslim communities in close proximity. It is called: The American Relief Agency for the Horn of Africa . www.amraha.org We hope our people get something in any possible venues that can bring results in their situations, Insha-Allah.
  6. Originally posted by Castro: ^ I will help any clan or tribe as I would my "own". Few on this forum think of or are bothered by clans. Many of us grew up away from that crap. When a Somali drowns in the Red Sea trying to get to Yemen, I never, EVER, wonder what clan he was. Same with those dying of hunger. My point is, when it comes down to it, I think clannism is not as big a problem as the logistics. Masha-Allah! the purity of your remarks say all, but the suprising thing about your view is how it reversed my expectations off you. Now, you should be the driving force in spearheading this sacred cause of helping our kinds overcome hunger. For your information sxb, I was working with a group of people in different states to pool some resources for the victims of the drought in our homeland, but I realy faced an uphill battle in convincing the people the nature of the cause. It seems every time I engage with someone about this issue, one has to start questioning the legitimacy of every thing, not to mention Cabsida they feel towards participating such causes. But, we have to do something before it is too late.
  7. The point here comes down to money, and that is the diametrical conclusion. As Castro, the former liberal, mentioned trust is another issue that needs to be resolved, since all major issues in somalia lack a common trust that can be applied for solving common problems. But, speaking of the reality in SOL, I think we can hardly make a united front in this case, and that is the passiveness which is visceral to those who had lost all their bloods in tribalism. We can't do anything unless we overcome tribalism, and indeed tribalism is where all problems generate, including the drought that is raging many parts in Somalia.
  8. ^^Eedo Rahima, if you intervened here, I should take the back seat, beleiving it will clear the way for your temporal happiness!
  9. Whether that is a crime or not, we all support the notion of Quran-based government, and that is an obligation to undertake upon every Allah-fearing Muslim. Those who oppose the fake government for somalia otherwise deserve the blame, but opposing this goverment thru legitimate reasons based on the Quran and Sunnah we believe is welcome. So, what is the news about that article other than showing the west that we're anti their rules and regulations when it comes to government?

  11. ^^How come you are impatient to our views against the liberals, and you are patient to others who went too far, to an extent of spitting on your beautiful face?! Come on girl, you need to use your harshness for the needed suitable ways, mise fuley aa tahay, anaka lee naga adagtahay haye?
  12. Blessed, You’re a Joker walahi. I dare you go to the Markets of Hargaisa and Muqdishu and tell the women there to go home and wait on their useless qaad-daaqers of husbands, fathers, and brothers. Are you equating the girls in Muqdisho and Hargeysa with enslavement, when in reality the girls in the west are in total confussion about their respective roles? Your blanket accusations for all men as khat chewers seems undeserving, but I would advise you to resign from the feminist impulses for that has failed to bring a headway. The rise of feminism has created backstage confusion before even taking a resolute course in western society. This should be a lesson to you, my dear Eedo Barwaaqo=Blessed.
  13. This site has became a window of exposing our ills to the outside, like we are going to benefit the outcome of it. Sadly, I have seen many topics in SOL discussing issues that are not accompanied with any solutions. It seems a whole punch of people are competing on revealing our societies in the most despicable ways, with the least loyalty and passion to rectify them.
  14. ^^My friend, you misunderstood the essence of upward social mobility. It doesn't start with walking on the footprints of colonial powers, it rather goes the opposite and aims at higher values that truly reflect on you as a society. I am indeed frightened of the fact that reversing a society from the stage they are at today will surely not going to happen without any fierce resistance, because much of Waqooyi Galbeed inhabitents are solidly weilded into this suicidal idealogy of seperating from their brothers at all costs. It seems the cycle of further Somali disintegrations is yet unfolding before our eyes!
  15. A front page article in New York Times was covered yesterday in this issue of women choosing staying home over working and challengin with men in all tasks. This looks a natural flight back to the previous position of womanhood. Let's see the reaction of our westernized girls who think emulating western ladies suffices life in its totality.
  16. What is this filthy and Nasty stuff you grown ups are talking about here! With the presence of a Moderator, I am still wondering what happen to the moral code of conduct in this site getting lax. This is very explicit, and I think if the Admin preffers to have this allowed, he shouldn't be complaining about when a downward spiral of this sort of nastiness affects all over the site. I said before, untill something is done about the liberal elements in the site, curruption on the earth (fasaad fil ardi) will remain the same!
  17. ^^You didn't mention anything new, except the deep seated passion for those reckless leaders to meet the Gaalo. The art of peace-making and conflict resolutions has been around within the Somalis for centuries now, and it is not a new thing but the funny thing about your mistaken view is that you linked that with democracy so as to depict Waqooyi Galbeed as more upto the western ideals and systems. To me, that is another shame. When a society loses its saneness, much of what it does or adheres comes from outside, and that utterly gives others an access to own them for good. That is exactly what is happening now. Waxaan arki jirnay gaal laga faano, waase aduunyo gadoon maanta!
  18. Raali waan ahay hada, adna sidoo kale runtii. Koley culimada kooda qaldan xitaa la igama ag maro in wax laga sheego, dagaal ayaan ka xigaa, inta kale kama damqado. Balse waxaan ku iri maxaa ku fashay magacaas raga ay la baxaan, Xarago, markii iigu danbeysay wuxuu ahaa magaca wiil?!
  19. It suprises me when I see a whole village (Waqooyi Galbeed) in the pursuit of gaining the approval of disbelievers at the expense of their/our dignity as Muslims. Shame on you, so-called stoogy leaders! They spent more times on seeking legitimacy, than building the society from the grassroots.
  20. ^^Thanks indeed, though that remark has something in it, but I think you will be more pleasing to the majority here if you would recheck those views that had proven to elevate our blood pressures. And you know what I am talking about, Ellegant Sister!
  21. ^^Waa runtaa abwaan, dhibku waa shacabka noqday sida rati dacayeeysan oo meeshii la doono loo rarto, wixii la doonana lagu rarto. Ilaahey ayaan sugeynaa...
  22. The best job, and well paying position, without any disputes, is self-employment. The art of self-employment starts with high self-esteem, and personal motivations. Always stay in the look outs for establishing your own business, that is indeed a proven personal experience that worked for me and others. Never rely on those companies that suck up all your energies and compensate you nothing in return that is worth for your efforts and time. The key to success for somalians in the west is to become self-employers, if not here, then establish one business in overseas with minimum investments, for instance, back home. The vast majority of successful Somalis where the ones who realized the importance of self-employment at an early ages of their experience. Those people tend to succeed later on as they continue applying that formula for self-employment. Asxaabta, the best jobs are within us, let's start doing something about our hidden talents and use it for our advantages to bring about the best results for our financial freedoms. This is a personal advice for those interested to experiment a new way other than the customary ways for looking a job.
  23. ehehehe, Walaahi waa iga qosliseen, meeshaan ciyaalka xaafada aa iskugu yimid, maba ogeen, warka isii dheh. Magac iga hari waayay aanba aniga qooleey darteed ku qaatay. Waxaan xasuustaa anoo xaafadeena inta qooleey lagu daatay ciyaalkii halmar, aan soo tagay Oday iyo Habar boorshiin ahaa. Xaafadeena carwo camal aa loo soo gali jiray, xoogaa waa qurxoonaayeen, Odaygana wax ka riigmo badnaa ma jirin, dadka xitaa kama xishoon jirin. Ninyahow ciyaalkii xaafada aa midhaa iga ileysteen, maalintii danbe nasiib daro markaan subixii soo toosay aan fiiriyay saxaaradii, sababtoo ah subaxwalba intaanan school aadan iyagaan fiirin jiray, kadibna masago aan u daadin jiray, laakiin subaxaas waxaan qooleydii ka arkay baalal meesha ku daadsan iyo dhiig farabadan. Koley maalintaas murugo iyo tacsi aa xaafada noo taalay, inkastoo hooyadeey ay aad u nibceed qooleyda, hadana weeyba ku faraxday markeey maqashay warka. Galabtii markeey tahay aa xaafada ciyaal badan imaadeen, si ay u arkaan qooleydii xaafada ugu qatarsaneed, markeey meesha ka waayeena, waxaanba maqlooyaa ciyaalkii xaafada oo iigu yeeraayo Qasaaro waa qasaartay and that was the kick-off of the new nick, Qasaaro . We say, 'ciyaal waa cudur laga koro' but in grown up ages, the best reflections of our time comes when we glance at our youthful times. Aqyaarta, yaa heesan jiray Daanyeer, ama Korrow oo ciyaal suuq ah? Bahalkaas caadi maaha, waliba markuu suuqa galo oo ciyaalka inteey dhib baraan, hadana xaafada gabdhahooda kusoo jeesto!
