And as far as I know - there isn't an official Somaliland immigration policy that would grant them residency. This whole announcment is pointless. If you're serious about the Oromos then you start with controlling your border, finding out how and where these ppl are coming in. And by limiting the pull factor that is bringing these people in. Why should the person who hires the illegal Oromo suffer no consequences when they're complicit in breaking the law by hiring them? How can you be a supporter of these deportations when you employ illegals? These folks are not coming in to beg on the streets - they could do that at home in their own language. As Somalis we should be especially sensitive to this sort of half assed scapegoating when no real effective policy is being articulated let alone being implemented. What he said.
  2. 30 days is awfully short time to ask estimated 100,000 people to leave the country. Essentially, it's not terrible idea to control the flow of immigration in and out of the country(for security and economic reason) , but it has to be done in responsible way. I would suggest that those already there are left alone and the border firmly controlled from hereon. If you deport them all, without good border security, they shall return. Also, lest we forget, the prime targets here are Muslim Oromos that have seeked shelter within another Muslim community. Any mistreat or harming them can stain the good standing name of Somaliland. People of Somaliland should not be swept up in this call of ethnic deportation, but must form different opinion and take the moral high ground on this one. The minister in my eyes made hasty judgement without much discussion on govt and public level. In conclusion, the people who have sought home amidst us from far and near lands must be left alone and kindness should be extended to them.
  3. The man in the video is not sane or is a making jokes. Unless he is the official SL rep in UK than his word is his and his alone.

  5. ^^^^He is looking to spot those fine tall, slim and dark southern sudanese girls. Then it's gacantay Bidixeey, ii gargaaraay.
  6. lool@ Somali. Maybe it was publicity stunt to draw more attention to his event. People paid $15 apiece per JB? It's uncharacterist in Africa for people to pay that much for an event. It must be those qurbo joogs taking taking their party habits back home.
  7. They say money doesn't buy you happiness. In this case, Somalilanders are proofing happiness still exists without recognition. Very honorable. Disgruntled few? Not according to Forbes. Gues who didn't make the list?
  8. Silaanyo lands in Jubba, S. Sudan. S. Sudan: O' Welcome Mr. President to Jubba. We are delighted that you could safely make it. How was your trip, Mr. Silaanyo? Silaanyo: Trip was great, thank you. I'm honored to be here, and look forward to celebrating with you on this joyous occasion. Silaanyo gets into nearby limo waiting to take him and his delegates to their destination. Many hours later.....Mr. Faroole lands. Faroole: Well, here we are, but Maandhow where is everybody went? S. Sudan: Sir, may we kindly ask you. Who do you represent? Faroole: I'm the President of Puntland. S. Sudan: President of who? it seems you're at the wrong event. Ok let us take a look at the guest list to see if your name is on it. If it's we let you in. so what is your name again sir? Faroole: Yes. My name is Mr. faroole, Dr. Faroole.ehm though I'm still not quite there yet, but nevertheless back where I come from people call me Doctor faroole. S.Sudan: Sorry Sir. It appears you're not on the list. Faroole: Oh no! I knew this was going to happen. Look again, perhaps with the suffix Dr. in front. S. Sudan: Sorry, nothing close to that even. Now if you excuse us and step aside we have many important guest waiting. Faroole: But wait! did I say I'm Faroole. ehem my mistake I meant President Silaanyo. S. Sudan: Nice try, sir. But Silaanyo has already checked in and is in the VIP section. We know President Silaanyo very well around here. He represents Somaliland. The best kept Secret, Beacon of hope in the horn. Ever heard of that? Faroole: it does ring a bell. Well ok. But you must know Puntland too, Northeast autonmous state formed in 1998? we are just like Somaliland, except that we never had multi party elections, national NEC, registered voters, consistant security and also we might be dealing with little problem in our shores. Besides that we are pretty much the same. S. Sudan: get back at me when you cross that bridge. As for now, you're Pirate, money laundering theif, who has allowed piracy to flourish in his basement. Securtity remove this man. Faroole: Maandhow ina marsha aydun. Meesha ceeb ayaa ka dhacday.
  9. As in Somaliland unity per the statue. Hargeisa does not want union with Muqdisho but Burco and Berbera, Las Anod And erigavo. Get it.

SMH Muqdisho makes more money? loool Is Muqdisho some sort of franchise. It's city and much bigger than bargaining chip for your sorts. Lay off the xalwad and go work out.
  11. The success of Nationlink, Amal bank, Jubba Airways are part of broader success of Vigorous never say die attitude of Somalis business community that have thrived in lawless country. What is remarkable is despite the absence of Nidaam and working system of government, and constant violence Muqdishians still find ways to do business and succeed too.
  12. Ibtisaaam Excellent work walal. Best of luck with your endeavors in Somaliland. Zack, I would say a clear majority favor independence. it's not as black and white as people assume here as well. There are many non "i's that support the indepence of Somaliland this includes Awdal, parts of Sanaag and Las Anod. Awdal is in the bag. Sool is the dark horse that everyone is curious about but Sanaag is divided and could swing either way. But this administration has made inroads with E. Sanag populace so I expect to them to join the bandwagon pretty soon here.
  13. Thankful, Forget these Westerners because they have no idea what to expect. But as Somali who is aware of things back home. Which is is more safe Hargeisa or Bosaaso? And don't be bias.
  14. Jacaylbaro Sawaridii soo dhaji saaxib hana Ilaabin. Meesha wacdara ayaa ka dhacaya baa la lahaa. Thanx mate.
  15. You gotta be living under a rock to believe in that photoshopped version of 'the picture'. The original picture posted by Xaji xundjuf clearly shows there were no flags or symbols of either Somaliland or Somalia behind Silaanyo. Anyone with minimal computer skills can alter photo to make it look anything. Xiinfanin conspiracy theories of Silaanyo being Pro Somali unity have yet to surface despite Silaanyo himself coming out and stating he has no ambition to lead united Somali state. It's just false rumors started mostly by our resident crazy horse Xiinfaniin(no pun intended). btw..belated Happy Friday to you as well Xiinow. But when you said 'dadka go'ayow', does that mean you have indirectly just recognized somaliland as seperate entity. JB and XX Pr campaign is working..lolz
  16. Jacaylabaro, Dacaayada jooji inadeer. Hadii uu yidhi xataa hadalka si kale oo ka duwan sida yara aad u tidhi in uu u dhigay laga yaabee. Kolkaa jooji fadeexada. Khawf Rabbak.

It's like a visual Email and if used to simply communicate to family, friends etc.. then I see no issues with it. However, when used to display inappriorate pics than probably makes more sense. Thanks for that though I never really looked at it from that angle. hmmmm interesting.
