Originally posted by Mr. Somalia: ^^ Yes Genius. I undertook a survey of my own(I happen to live in a Somali community with a great many folks from Waqooyi Galbeed in it) and I found out that, for every 2 who are anti-secession, there is 1 secessionist imbecile still pissed off about the molestation done to the SNM by General Said Barre's military. Now if you do the math with me-- a 2:1 ratio in favor of Somali Unity does not bode well for your separatist ideology, my fake cyber-mujaahid. Just shut up. You dont know what the hell you talking about. I took personal survey ku yeh. Whoever takes this dope seriously ayaa ka waalan.

^So you'd support a junion politician deep down south who can't roam outside of villa Somalia without the protection of armored Amisom vehicles and guards..really that man. What about Faroole who is relatively more suitable state leader? So instead you chose Sharif. This Just goes to show you how out of touch with reality reer Maakhir really are. They dont know what to think. This is your President and for this is your flag.

That was when you were a young cub, now you all bald eagle. lol

Mr. Xudeedi, you deal with him, he is your president also and soon I heard uncle Dahir Riyaale is planning to land some elbows on the back of xaaji kaluun down in coastal maakhir. Be careful what you wish for dear lad.

Originally posted by Mr. Somalia: ^^ Even without Awdal, Sool, Sanaag's obvious vote against the seccesionist agenda-- I am very confident that if a referendum were to take place TODAY in Waqooyi Galbeed, that the majority of the people there would not want to opt to secede from Somalia. In as much as the secessionists loudmouths on SOL pretend to speak in the name of the people of Waqooyi Galbeed--THEY DO NOT: A great majority of those Somalis remain loyal to Mother Somalia. And I suppose you would know that more than someone who comes from there?
-
MMA that is nice and dandy but what I say dont count here lad. What counts are the rules. The territory Somaliland claims are those same ones during the colonial era. The world looks at those colonial boundaries to settle any difference. So if referendum was to be held it would only take place within the boundaries of colonial Somaliland not 1960 Somali republic; which no longer exists. Your argument would be valid towards a state like puntland if they decided to seceede then they would have to face a vote within Somalia, since they havent had distinct international known boundaries. But Somaliland borders are well known and even recognize as seperate country before unification with Somali proper. They included Sool and E. Sanaag and we have no interest in letting them go. We are not claiming Bay or any state part of Somali proper, what we want is the return of Somaliland simply put. And we want it peacefully, if the people of E. Sanaag and Sool do decide that they do not want to be part of Somaliland they can stand up for to vote in Somaliland referendum of unionists vs. bring back Somaliland bloc and see if they have the numbers. If they come up short, there is always vacating Somaliland and going else where. I'm sure most of them would be fine with option A.

Mr. Somalia, Who is "we"? This is tuugnimo at its best. yes some pirates got rich off of this, but think of the consequence that the foreign navies and ships bring. They bring all their dirty laundry and somalia is the perfect site for that. Who knows maybe they dump toxic while station there. Attacking civilian cargo ships isn't the solution.

old news, already posted by nomad xiinfaniin.

MMA, Nope. You're wrong. Referendum would be held within the boundaries seeking the independence. Awdal, Hargeisa, Togdheer and Western Sanaag are all pro Indepedence while we can assume E. Sanaag and majority of Sool are against it, hence would not hinder the will of the majority. Again, we can sit here and argue a case for the seperatist Maakhirians and soolers, but rules are rules. As someone who has lived in Canada would know this since the French province of Quebec has been seeking indepdence from Canada proper for sometime now, but has failed because the anti-seccesion movement in Quebec is a majority over those who seek seccesion. What does this mean? well, the seperatists of E. Sanag and Sool arent going anywhere yet. Watch this space next as Badhan is also brought to its knees much like Las Anod was. I'm sure Nassir and others would shut up and behave like rer Sool.
-
Seccesion is not a issue which will be discussed with small timers like yourself. Somaliland already considers maakhir as regional under its authority whether you agree or not, and even if referendum was to be held you'd still be included in it. Again, seccesion is a nation matter, so you better hope the combine forces of the south to come to your rescue otherwise you are needle in the dark or in the ocean such is your odds in Somaliland my dear maakhiri, puntlander or fellow Somaliland citizen.

History is useless although I'm sure I beat you there as well. This is the 21st century and you are still a fisherman pretty much stagnant in the era of your forefathers. As somali maah says, sac baan lahaa, ri baan leeyahay ayaa dhaanta.

"Sayidoo, Gabay aa ihaayo".

How many of them get blown out of the water. Sad to say but the pirates are being unjustly hunted down and never reported. The U.S navy was reported using Sound waves which is against the international law. Basically these pirates have done damage, but are also target practice for foreign navy ships like China, Japan or India who havent seen much action at sea previously.
