  1. Xamar cadeey has gone wild. Ever since the AMISOM mission in Somalia, the world only knows Muqdisho as Somalia. If they help develop Somaliland and Buntland, then gues what the Somalis who are bogged down in Xamar would perhaps go to those peaceful areas to escape the violence. Right now every little dollar is being wasted on dead on arrival entity like the TFG while those resources could have been put to better use. Somalia is being held ransom from Xamar, and the world is blind to where the problem stems from. For the sake of Somalis and Somalia they should recognize Somaliland as a country and develop Buntland as a example for the South. At least some of us can move on. Right now, both you and I are F'up sxb and no one is going anywhere.

  4. ^^^Yes, but its' in effective and neither I nor the world is impressed with that. It seems Muqdisho is Somalia, and Somalia is Muqdisho. Where is Buntland or perhaps Somaliland? How come no one is lending a hand to these peaceful regions.
  5. So they discussed combating 'extremism'. Why not ask for financial support from Iran or better yet arms for their militia.
  6. Ceeb waar raggu ma ooyo. Dhereerka iska leexi. NSUM= Nonsensical Somalis Useless movement.
  7. Alshabab is not my enemy, neither is Buntland. I have a problem with warlords, corrupt politicians and anyone who backs them up.
  8. Thankful, You're mixing things here. There were several conflicts at the time. One was looming withing the city between the militia loyal to Xaabsade(pro SL) and local militia loyal to Buntland. There wasn't much of battle that took place aside from sporadic fire fights here and there. The more significant battle was on the SL and BL front. In which both SL and BL forces that were stationed outside of the city had a major clash whereby Buntland's so call Darawish forces were handily beaten and dismantled. If your memory serves you right, the battle bt SL and BL was never within the city limits, but in places like adhi cadeeye in first day, and in second day in Abeeselay. Secondly, Buntland forces after they were beaten burned down the police head querters and ordered some kids to burn tires etc.. However, majority of the city support Somaliland including the elders and caqils of the city. The fact that Las Anod has been one of the more peaceful town in Somaliland is a proof of that. For more: check out this link of caaqils and elders of city and their support for the new admin. Also, you posted some peaceful riots mostly. Those happened everywhere including Against the sky rocketed inflation cause by fake money.
  9. ^^^It's up to Miles to tell us how he came to that conclusion. Never heard of such thing.
  10. Originally posted by ThankfulSP: Red Sea, Lets be Honest here. Riyaale was chased out in 2001 and you came back to in 2007. So why did it take you so long to a mass your finest, 6 years later? I'll tell you exactly what happened both times when Puntland took over and then NW Somalia. It was Habsaade that changed sides. When he was fired from Puntland within weeks Lascaanod went back to NW Somalia. It has nothing to do with any forces massing. Even after Riyaale was chased out in 2001, Puntland issued a statement that said "this could never had happened without the support of the local population." This has nothing to do with any force from Puntland or NW Somalia, it's whoever is willing to Pay Habsaade what he wants and when they do, he will tell his militia to kick the other side out! Riyaale made that mistake last time and learned his lesson, he'll make sure Habsaade's pockets are fat. Xaabsade does have considerable influence in SOOL and las Anod in particular since his sub clan makes the majority in Las Anod. That being said you have to separate the military aspect and the politics that sidetracked it. Somaliland was always very capable in throwing Buntland out of Sool for good with or without the help of the locals. However, what comes thereafter was always the bigger picture. Somaliland wanted to make sure once they took over Las Anod, they could follow through w/ the people's support in order to keep Las Anod remain calm. After all, the reason Somaliland avoided that city for so long was the possibility of causing unrest and chaos thus putting Somaliland's quest for recognition in peril. Somaliland waited for the right moment and they got just the man, Xaabsade. He switched sides and convinced the people that SL was better alternative. Once that was sealed, all that remained was getting rid of Buntland militia. This was the perfect opportunity to unleash Ciidanka Qaranka Somalland on Buntland militia and surely within few hours Las Anod was liberated. Xaabsade was a tremendous help in convincing his clan, nonetheless the bigger prize had to go gallant SL forces who steam rolled from Adhi cadeeye, through abeesaley and into Las Anod and beyond.
  11. Thankful, The city was divided between Somaliland and Puntland. We had no military presence in the area and hence no resistance once Buntland militia invaded Las Anod. However when we massed a thousand of our finest, you were chased out of town and never looked back. Also ambushing a Presidential convoy is an act of cowardly. But all you did was to agitate Rayaale to order in our security forces to beat the living crap out of Buntland militia. Today we are stationed in a village named Tukaraq mere 35KM from your state capital Gorowe. we dont intend to advance onto it, but if provoked the Somaliland government already made clear it will not hesitates to order our boys in and do little house cleaning in Gorowe itself. Perhaps we might have little regime change cooking for us here pretty soon!
  12. Suldaanka, Mar mar baa lagu kacaa ninkan saaxib. Markii sheekadu ay ku foorarto ayuu xaga Somaliland usoo carara. Duke, Don't be so bitter if world known Somali entertainers go to Hargeisa to enterain our crowd. I'm sure Buntland would be excited to catch a glimpse of what is going down in Hargeisa. What do you guys do for fun over there anyways? On a serious note,Personally recognition isn't the most important aspect about Somaliland. What is more important to me is the peace maintained in Somaliland, advancement in the region as far as infrastructure, education systems as well as health institutions, along with their developments in other aspects. This is the position of many Somalilanders. However, gaining recognition is a national goal and we will continue to lobby for the international community until we get what we deserve. There is no room for your pessimism. More importantly, Somaliland has more advanced universities(Amoud, Hargeisa, Buroe) and secondary schools, boarding schools than your state Buntland. While you chase non existing and far fetched oil deals, w/ piracy problems, human trafficking, and sky rocketing inflations in your currency and lack of security; we Somaliland on the other hand thrive in all those areas. The latest political gridlock is sign of civility. It happens all around the world, even people die for such. But I don't think a Buntland would understand that since nothing of that magnitude has ever taken place in his/her neck of the woods. Politically, it was earlier this year when you had first smooth transfer of power ever and many of you went ballistic, understandably so, since the whole concept of power transfer was an alien idea to you.And it happened through parliamentary prodecure whereby a small room packed with men had to hand pick Faroole. In contrast, we have to register over a Million people to vote, finance , and make sure all the measures of free elections are met. The commision wasn't up to level and ready to accumulate such capacity, so delays. But again, you jumped on that and perceived it as sign of incompetency It takes more time, energy and money to conduct elections based open ballots wherby the citizens themselves decide shall represent them. This more complex and time consuming than simples YEA and NAY that is practiced in Buntland's small parliament rooms. The parliamentary election procedure is a thing of the past in Somaliland. So, once you get to the point where Buntland conducts a successful state wide elections done through the ballot can you then criticize while gloating over your success. Buntland isn't up to that level as of yet, so it should take important notice of Somaliland in case they hoped to imitate it in the future. As for parliamentary, That is how we elected Abdirahman Tuur AUN in 1991 and twice for Igal AUN. Those were easy. But even since Somaliland adopted the multi national party system, it required more xomplex way to settle elections. We have three national parties, and you have how many? we already had two open elections where people got to vote one of which being for the parliament and the other for the Presidency in 2003. We are gaining more experience as a people and as a nation of how to conduct elections. There are some bumps along the road politically as such is the case today, it's okay, it's only a sing of civility and human progress. Once we established the commission and the election procedures than this establishment will be rock solid from all aspects. And who knows recognition will come. But that is nothing you should concern yourself with I'm sure. Hold on to your end and not transgress.

  15. ^lool sophistication require alot of work. You can't claim it if it isn't there buddy. How many times have you discussed this man below? You supported the TFG because of him, and now oppose it because he is no longer in the picture. What about Riyaale and the mugged ones etc..etc. K'naan and Maryan Mursal are well known Somali entertainers. Maryan Mursal went to Somaliland to open a new school for her disadvantaged community, while K'naan went there to do a film about the Somali culture.Where do you get this nonsense that anyone expects of them a recognition? To remind you, you opened up this silly thread. Give yourelf pat on the back will ya!

You gotta settle back to reality sir with all due respect. There is nothing wrong in a man who dreams, but please dont pass them as real life events. Some of them come true and most of them dont. You're setting your hopes too high, and perhaps at the end of 2010 I might have something new to mock you about. I'm so tired of Ina Yey and his failed adventure. Secondly, Sool and Sanaag sure are your kinfolks. But only if blood relations meant something. Today both Sool and Sanaag remain under the authority of Somaliland, not forcefully I must add, but by clear choice made by the poeple of both sool and Sanaag. You admitted that yourself.
  17. Originally posted by bilan: Duke, why are you wasting your time w/ Red, he is full of hate and envy. what is eating him up is that people in that city are not killing each other, they decided to live together, I have no doubt that he would’ve slept better tonight if he heard hundreds die. But unfortunately someone forgot to tell him that you do not get recognition like that. lets not get personal here. And I do not simply wish for things to appear. With that being said, we are discussing what just happened last week in Galkacayo and how the Buntland security forces attacked people minding their business.
  18. ^^^So, in short, do you consider Southern Galkacayo part of Buntland? Simple answer will do. As for size of Buntland would be Northern Galkacayo, Bosaaso, and village Gorowe and pretty much the space between them. Boorama, Hargeisa, Burco, Berbera and 2/3 of Sanaag includings its capital Erigavo is under direct Somaliland control as well 2/3 of Sool including its state capital as well. The rest are pretty much no man's land(in the sense of the word).Unlike Galkacayo, we do not feel the need to to transgress nor start conflict between the Somali citizens living in multi clan city like Erigavo. You know, instead of critizing Somaliland you could learn thing or two on how to conduct between brotherly people. Just look at Las Anod ever since your hasty departure, it became nice little peaceful town. Most citizens there are now content with SL rule. Good riddance Buntland.
  19. ^What you fought over is irrelevant to my argument. My point is very simple, and it's Buntland is weak entity that cannot secure if need be the safety of its own citizens. Your security forces committed an aggression into Galmudug side of Galkacayo and your citizens paid hefty price for it. Now, as I said, I could care less if you dwell in that overblown village, what I'm interested is the recent conflict and how you were proven to lack the capacity to do anything. Lets jut hope that your revealed weakness doesn't' invite Alshabab. Lord, I would wonder how long it would take for your security forces to hold it together before they crumble like a cookie in a milk jar and flee as they have become accustome to in recent past. Secondly, Southern Galkacayo is NOT part of Buntland and has never been. So you control nothing beyond your imaginations. The city is divided along clan lines North and South(mos relevent sides) and has been so since the '93 green line resolution. In that year, an USC wing consisting of just one sub clan defeated and smashed your entire clan. It took many attempts and 'tolaay yaa jaberti' for you to settle back North Galkacayo. In addition, the LA issue is off the table. It's mind now.
  20. Libaax, This incident is not true. However, the Somaliland media has never had the same voice. Some are pro Udub like Qaranews, some are against it like hadhwanaagnews, Somaliland.org, and others are neutral like Geeska Afrika and Jamhuriya. So there is a balance in the Somaliland media.
  21. Originally posted by General Duke: Red Sea, little man, there is no doubt the clans of south Mudug are formidable in comparison to the secessionists, but what took place in Galkacyu the other day was nothing more than suicidal attention seeking, the fact that civilian areas were shelled by both sides is an absurd. However, there is nothing to gloat about and for me the killing of my own relatives is nothing to contemplate. The facts are simple, Puntland maintains control of the city, the new admin is working over time to improve the city and this will not set us back one minute. However secessionists are confused that’s why the little one in here is waving the blue flag. lool@little man. Dont flatter yourself saxib. So you admit the clans of Southern Mudug are formidable. Based on past experience and what they did to you, I have no reason to object. As for Somaliland. Just go ahead and try me. Try getting Las Anod back, try setting foot anywhere within the rage of SL security forces. You're easy saxib. You're not much of a threat to anyone. I knew it, but the recent news coming out of Mudug proved us all right that you lack the courage to slug it out in the battle field, ya fake General.
