  1. Salamu Calaykum, Bro Samuria, I don't mean to take anything away from you but considering taking closer look at the POWs, they look great as far as the appearance; one with traditional clothings and the other with modern western clothing, neither seems ill fed or abused. Both sides nonetheless look good. However, No one in this forum knows how badly or good they were treated and the only way we can find that out is if the prisnors themselves tell us how they were treated, but before that let us not make false accusations. Assalamu Calaykum.
  2. Salamu Calaykum, As much as I dislike exposing your true ignorance and blindness about the situations back home guys, however I can't help it but to correct your illsided argument and your dark views in which you have about Somalia. I can only try to educate you, because your arguments are baseless and non subjective. First to answer to some of the nonsense that you have uttered. I would like to say that you have interpeted my message wrong. When I was posting this I intended it for those Somalis who are aware of the situation back home but never did I intended for two air heads like you who by everytime make useless comments. The fact of the matter is that these homes are not built by rich for the rich, but they are homes built by ordinary hard working somalis who then get paid in fair enough money. The sites that I have posted are sites for construction companies who are owned and operated by none other than Somalis, except one I might add, and that is White Sand Village which is shared by Somalis and some Idonesians. Secondly, I would be lying to say to you that all the equipments are made there, but the truth is mojority of the equipment are domestic including the beds, chairs, luxurious sofas, and all construction goods as well. This is not just true for Somaliland only, but also Puntland has and you might even be surprised to hear that Moqdisho has it too. So brothers, you have got the wrong impression about your homeland, one visit might cure all that. After that, to take a look at your other point in which you said the people are hungry while poeple are building mansions. True that many Somalis are hungry but you must understand we Somalis have long history of always being family oriented poeple who relly on each other. Each Somali who is financially fit always takes care of the other, that is the way we Somalis have always survived through the civil wars and poverty. However, all these cosntruction comp. create job oppurtunity for alot of people in the country. They build homes, Schools, hospitals and many more and those are facts not just some nonsense that I have uttered out like you have. I urge you to get the facts straight and take sometime to think before you post, because these things are read by actuall poeple who are expecting more from you. Finally, Castro I don't really know who you are and what you are made of when you are making comments such as the one you said, it would better off if I built a home in Minneapolis for the hungry rather than going overseas. You see my brother, my profile might show I am from Minneapolis but I am not, I am from the beautiful sunny Hargeysa and I would rather build and spend anything that I get into Hargeysa and other Somali cities rather than spending it on foreing country. Maybe you should think the same way and the world could be better place for all of us or at least halt your comments, buecause they make no sense whatsoever. Hey Timoweyne, I have edited my comments but you need to comb that cheesy head of yours before you come on here. Salamu Calaykum. Salamu Calaykum.
  3. SALAMU CALAYKUM, I apologize if I am going little bit crazy with these newly built homes, designs, but you know I like to see Hargeysa recovering from the civil wars in the past as well as other cities in Somalia/Somaliland/Puntland. So check out these new desings and tell me of what you think. In addition, if you have anymore pics from back home please post them , we appriciate seeing them all the time. http://www.lstarconstruction.com/newdesigns.html salamu calaykum.
  4. SALAMU CALAYKUM, Here are complete names of the exchanged POWs. www.widhwidh.com http://www.widhwidh.com/html/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=3649
  5. Salamu calaykum, First of all I want to thank the brother who posted this. Secondly, I want to crtize someone of the nomads who stand for the ruining of the good mood, like Shirwac. Shirwac please go find something else to do, you are still trapped in the barrel of the gun while people are building up their houses. Finally, since we have started talking about housing booms in our homeland, let me just post few of my own city if you don't mind. This is about homeland right? here they are, see for yourself. http://www.whitesandvillage.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=15&Itemid=55 http://www.daryeel.com/gallery.htm http://www.unieco.co.uk/Photos.asp salamu calaykum.
  6. Originally posted by Yeniceri: [QB] This is most certainly good news, but I wouldn't go as far as call it great news. Its definitely a step in the right direction, for the admins of Garoowe and Hargaysa to swap POWs. Salamu Calaykum Yap that is true, but let us take step by step in the right direction. Don't look ahead to what tomorrow has in stored, let us praise the fact that the politicians from both sides of the aisle have used little bit of their brain finally. Everytime they reach peaceful solutions it's great news no matter how small it is as long as it makes positive impact as this. Sure enough, it would be the best to see the two northern adminstrations have peaceful negotations and reach a complete agreement to withdraw their troops from the current positions. However, with that being said, the "great news" that I was refering to was the current news at hand, but if it so happens that two side agree even more, it would mean even geater news and therfore would be the great news of the day on that day, but today this one is a great one and let us hope for more. Finally, you do raise valid points bro and I couldn't have agreed with you even more. salamu calakum.
  7. Salamu calaykum, Muhammed what do you think of this one. http://www.daryeel.com/pic058.htm or this one http://www.daryeel.com/pic06.htm great looking huh!!
  8. SALAMU CALAYKUM, It has been more little over a year since the the two peaceful northern regions of Somaliland and Puntland got into armed conflict. In that day both sides captured and took many prisons from the other side.Since then they have been talking about exchanging their prisoner's of war, so today it finally came when both sides exchanged their prisoners.I am really glad, because those young men can finnally go home to their love ones and get back to normal life unless offcourse they are sent once again to the frontlines. None the less it's great news for them to do that. www.Somaliland.org Somaliland Iyo Maamul Goboleedka Puntland Oo Maanta Isweydaarsaday Maxaabiis Dagaal Somaliland.Org — Hargeisa, Somaliland — 5 December, 2005 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hargeisa (Somaliland.org) Maxaabiistii Dagaalka ee lagu kala qabsaday Dagaalkii ka dhacay agagaarka Adhi-cadeeye oo u dhaw Magaalada Laas Canood ee Gobolka Sool Muddo hadda laga joogo Sannad iyo laba Bilood, ayaa maanta Jamhuuriyadda Somaliland iyo Maamul Goboleedka ******teeniya ee Puntland isku waydaarsadeen Xaflad ka dhacday Beriga Magaalada Adhi Cadeeye, Xafladani oo ay ka soo qayb galeen Taliyayaasha Ciidamada Somaliland iyo Maamul Goboleedka Puntland ayaa waxaa la isku waydaarsaday Maxabiis Tiradoodu dhammayd Xagga Somaliland 24 Maxbuus oo laga soo daayey jeelasha Garoowe iyo Boosaaso, iyo Xagga Maamul Goboleedka Puntland 12 Maxbuus oo laga soo daayey Jeelka Dhexe ee Maadheera, ayaa la isku waydaarsaday halkaasi, Maxaabiistani oo muddo sannad iyo dheeraad ah labada dhinac ay kala haysteen ayaa waxaa dedaalka sii dayntooda qayb weyn ka qaatay Haayadda xuquuqda Aadamaha ee qaramada Midoobay AMNESTY, haayadda ICRC iyo haayado Madax bannaan ee ka jira Somaliland iyo maamul goboleedka Puntland, sii daynta iyo iswedaarsiga Maxaabiistani ayaa muujin karta talaabo horumarineed oo kor loogu qaaday in xal loo helo muranka Xuduudka Somaliland iyo Maamul Goboleedka ******teeniya ee Puntland. 9. Originally posted by SOO MAAL: 4)Nomads, how Faisal handled the questions? Somalilanders (like qudhac, castro, etc), do you have better responses? ) Salamu calaykum, Yes, bro Soomaal, I might have answer to this, which is that since the Somalis have never had a legatimate government which means that there had not been enough time to trace back our history. However there had been various books written about the Somali origins. Most if not all divide the Somalis into many different groups descending from Shiekhs that migrated from the Arabian Peninsula. For example, Sheikh Isxaaq Axmed is considered the father of the tribe that resides in the majority of what is now Somaliland. On the other hand, those who reside in Eastern part of what is now Somaliland descended from Ismail Jabarti as are many Somalis in Eastern Somalia as well as western Somalia. These men were considered our fathers however I personally don't believe it could be true that these were our fathers.Because if they were, then that means that we just live in one country but came from different backgrounds. Remember these are according in books written mostly by Westerners like I.M Lewis and others like him. I believe that Somalis all but few (Reer Barawe) descended from Soomaal or as he was referred to "Caano Soomaal". Where he was from and born are still uncertain at least according to my knowledge, but there may be some somali elders who may have some idea about him. In addition, I say no to Faisal Cali's comments of one tribe living in Somaliland, it's known to everyone that Somaliland contains many more than the one tribe he mentioned. To best of my knowledge, Somali history has not been researched enough, mostly because of lack of government as well as not having the time to do research. Somalis have no time to look back their history, they have enough problems at hand already. But for the few events written about Somali's orgins are done by non Somalis therefore their work cannot always be accurate and precise in accordance to our actual history. Which means that Faisal Cali got his idea from these sources of history and what he uttered cannot be taken seriously. Anyways, Somalis resemble and have so much in common, therefore it's not correct to say they have not come from the same fathers or weren't nurtured by same mothers. We can draw the conclusions that since they look the same, act the same, have same identity, language (different dialects) and religion they must be from the same family. If one from the Northwest claims to be an Arab so is the one in the Central Somalia, East, and the South. Finally, hey bro Soomaal don't you think that Castro isn't from Somaliland? I always thought he was the son of Castro, Cuban born nomad. just kidding Castro, just having little fun with ya. Salamu Calaykum.
  10. Salamu Calaykum, HMM, bro what points are you really trying to raise here? help me out , I am having hard time understanding what exactly you are refering to as who is having hard time with Somaliweyne? I am sorry but I don't really know of what to make and which directions to take your comments. They are purely baseless and childish . Thanks for posting though. Salamu Calaykum.
  11. salamu calaykum, To all my beloved Somalis in this forum who are interested in building or buying homes back home, here are few suggestions of what construction company to choose from. Check it out and see what you think. Note that this is only effective in Somaliland but Somaliland is still the homeland for every Somali speaking person. http://www.daryeel.com/ http://www.daryeel.com/2005gallery.htm http://www.daryeel.com/2003gallery.htm http://www.daryeel.com/2004gallery.htm http://www.daryeel.com/2003gallery.htm If you are also want housing that has already been prepared that only needs you to buy and move in considered taking the time to look into the newly built White Sand village. http://www.whitesandvillage.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=15&Itemid=55 Please note that this isn't the polical section, so don't post any an necessary comments. Just post positive opinions please and don't stir up the section. your comments are appriciated. Salamu Calaykum.
  12. SALAMU CALAYKUM, Hey guys I don't have anything to say but, the uniforms those guards or "army" are wearing are looking good. I wonder if they are the same as the former Somali army unis. They are about the only catchy thing in that picture, everything else is just the same old. Salamu Calaykum.
  13. SALAMU CALAYKUM, While serving the internet and looking for the latest news from back home, I saw by the corner of my eye this article about the curfew being put on Hargeysa by the corrupt Riyale adminstration. It sickens me once again to see the poeple's right's being violated by power hungry politicians. This article was originally published on Somaliland.org -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hargeisa (Somaliland.org)Boqolaal Ciidanka Booliiska iyo Duub Casta ka tirsan oo ku qalabysan Hub culus iyo gawaadhida tiknimada ah ayaa Caawa waxay xidheen dhammaanba waddooyinka Magaalada Hargeysa, iyagoo si xad dhaaf u badhaayey dhammaan gaadiidka maraayey isgoysyada iyo goobaha xarumaha Dawladda u dhaw, Ciidankani ayaa waxay gaaf wareegayaan caawa oo dhan xaafadaha iyo Waddooyinka Magaalada Hargeysa, waxaan caawa fiidkii abaaro 7:00 soo raacay mid ka mid ah basaska Gaadiidka DAdweynaha waxaana lagu joojiyey Isgoyska Togdheer oo ay tubnaayeen boqolaal ciidamada Duub Casta iyo Booliiska loo yaqaano SPU oo ahaa kuwii maalintii salaasadii gallay xaruntii uu ka socday kal fadhiga 1-aad ee golaha wakiiladdu, waxay ku amrayeen Gaadiidka kelmado ay ka mid yahiin "Istaag, laydhka gudaha daar, ka dibaddana dami" weedhahani ayaa run ahaantii waxay ku xasuusinayeen waagii Taliskii Siyaad barre iyo waayahii qadhaadha. 14. salamu calaykum, This is very moving article indeed. It's true as stated in the article that we are better off if Somalia was one nation under good leadership instead of small states like Somaliland, Puntland, Jubaland --etc. I feel the pain of my Southern bretherens and there isn't a night in which I don't think about the Somali people as a whole and as a nation. I would like more than anything to see once a strong centralized somali government in my lifetime. I would like to see all somalis enjoying freedom in their respective regions not just the north alone. I would like to see all Somali people come back to their homeland and enjoy the freedom of their homeland. I would like to see myself and my family back together and living in our home country with peace rather than one peaceful region and another on fire. As a Muslim and Somali it does bother me much to hear about the death and destruction that occurs in southern Somalia today and I feel its my duty as well as anyone else who comes under the family tree of Somaal to work together in order to bring peace to southern somalia. The politicians have done their work; they destroyed the country, let us do our share of rebuilding it and let us not side with them. For God sakes this is our country not just theirs,so let us rule our country how we wanted it to be ruled. Salamu Calaykum.
  15. Salamu calaykum, I can only say that they are bunch of self interest politicians who go around the country telling the people how much they will change the country and then when they are voted into office they just let their big fat belly loose and sit on their behind. Do you really think the government built all the beautifull houses in Somaliland cities? no I don't think so, the politicians have done nothing except left themselves alone for little bit. Somaliland's success should all be credited to the people. The latest wresling match in the parliament is no surprise to me at all, none of them can qualify to being good and credible leader. They are all bunch of losers, they sickened me. Because if they cared why can't they just fix the roads in the capital at least , and build more hospitals. So much for the energy the people of Somaliland spent on those self considered grown ups who can't even get their acts straight and that people actually trusted them to be role models, what a shame this brings. Instead of carrying out their promises they are quick to break it. I am wondering where is the respect that the people who voted for them deserve? it's like they put their best face forth and later on bring out their dark deeds out. I have never trusted a politician and neither should any other somali trust a politician. I don't expect them to do any good, I would just like to see them just once act like grown ups. OH I am disgusted with this.
  16. SALAMU CALAYKUM, I don't know why you have to post such a filty article on here.
  17. SALAMU CALAYKUM, Hello my dear brother Soomaal, usaually our regions in the north would be the ones getting the below normal rainfall, but above rainfall is great news, I am really excited to hear the good news. I think vegetation can grow nicely in the north and this above average rainfall should make the leaves green. It's a blessing from Allah and we are thankfull every bit of rain drop. I wish the same to my Southern brothers that Allah may bring rain and ever lasting peace. Peace in Somalia and may Allah bring unity to all Muslims everywhere. Salamu Calaykum.
  18. I wonder why they have censored some of the words. I am sure they aren't offensive nor even qualify to be an offensive words. HMM I wonder why?
  19. Originally posted by Kashanre: ^You do stand corrected sxb, because "wa-calayka" not "wa-calaykum" is the response given to a gaal who greets you in the Islamic greeting. I am not a gaal. "Salaamulaahi calayka"na waligay ma aanan maqlin. Assalamu Calaykum, Bro Kashanre, thanks for given the effort of trying to make us understand the correct version of our greetings. However, I must correct you and the rest of nomads here who might misunderstood the way to greet a non Muslim who greets you. You might have heard the story of the 2 Jews guys coming to the Prophet (pbuh) and saying to him "Assamu Calayka" which means may death/destruction occur upon you. The Prophet(pbuh) gave the response of "the same to you" which they more than anything deserved. When they left, Aisha(rAc)said oh Prophet of Allah, don't you know what those guys just said? and so he said did you hear what I said? she said no, he said, I said to them same to you. The prophet was spoken to by Arc Angel Gabriel who told him of what they said. Now, all the nomads who didn't previously knew this have to understand that you can only give such response to non Muslims who greet you in negative way, which means if non Muslim came to you and said toyou "Assalamu Calaykum" which means peace upon you, you should respond to them "*****aykuma Assalam", because he/she didn't offend nor did they said any negative thing therefore you should respond to them in positive way. The point of way to greet a Gallo is all wrongly misunderstood by us, that we think regardless of how gallo greets us that we must greet them back with the saying of "you too" or " *****ayka". So, if non Muslim came to you and said "Assalamu calaykum" then say as you would normally to a Muslim, this I heard from well respected Sheikh whom all Somali people have confidence in. If they came to you and said otherwise, do what the Prophet did and say "*****aykum" for plural "*****ayka" singular. Now Assalamu Calaykum.
  20. Salamu Calaykum, OH dear lost boy Castro, what a wasteful human being you are. You are putting up an argument here that doesn't make any sense. I can't help it but to say you watch too much Fox Chanel. I must tell that you have got it all wrong my friend. The Prophet Muhammed(pbuh)said that he who leaves Muslim country without any reason whatsoever and travels to an infidel country is not part of his Ummah. Just to mention your redicoulous point of Muslims having much higher chance of leaving their faith in Muslim country than they are in non Muslim country, well I have to tell you one thing that you are pure proof of a lost boy who if he was borned or raised for that matter in Muslim country wouldn't spit out an utter nonsense like you have. Please stop accusing your Muslim and fellow nomads unless you are sure to make credible accusations, because we cannot except such statements that you have made. You seem to be walking in the dark so may Allah bring you to the light. Salamu Calaykum.
  21. Salamu Calaykum, Hey Castro I only use the Cap Lock key for those who have ill vision. Since you are an old man I thought I might do you some favor, but anyways there you are, I used normal size caps for those who can see---- I hope you can read what I wrote. Salamu Calaykum.

TELL ME ONE IDEAL REASON THAT WE CAN ALL BELIEVE ON WHY WE SHOULD REMAIN APART. MY IDEAL REASON IS FOR YOU TO TAKE CLOSER LOOK AT THE BLUE FLAG WITH THE 5 POINTED STAR UNDER YOUR NAME. LOOK CLOSER AT THE MESSAGE IT CARRIES, YOU WILL KNOW WHY WE FOR ALL THE RIGHT REASONS SHOULD BE ONE NATION UNDER ALLAH(SUBHANAHU WATACALA). THAT IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY. PEACE. SALAMU CALAYKUM.

SO PLEASE DON'T ACCUSE OF ANYONE OF BEING THE KILLER UNLESS YOU ARE SURE ABOUT IT 100%. IT'S UNEXCUSABLE ACT AND BEHAVIOR OF YOU TO POST THAT KIND OF TOPIC IN PUBLIC FORUM WITHOUT NOTING THE REAL STORY. NO NEED TO FEEL TO BE URGENT WHEN POSTING SUCH TOPIC. DON'T GET ME WRONG HERE, I AM ONLY TRYING TO SAY, BE VERY VERY CAREFUL ABOUT THE TITLE OF THE ARTICLES AND MAKE SURE THEY MATCH WITH THE ACTUAL EVENT WHEN POSTING IT. HOWEVER, I DO HAVE ACCUSATIONS TOWARDS CASTRO, WHO TIME AND AGAIN RUNS HIS BIG MOUTH ABOUT SOMALIA. BRO, YOU NEED TO STOP YOUR BASELESS ACCUSATIONS TOWARDS SOMALIA. YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT SOMALIA IS MUCH SAFER THAN YOUR EMPTY MIND COULD IMAGINE AND IT'S BY FAR BETTER THAN THE PLACE WHOM YOU PROUDLY NAMED YOURSELF AFTER THEIR LEADER; CUBA. HUH CASTRO, A BRUTAL DICTATOR WHO WAS ON THE SIDE OF THE ETHIOPIAN'S WAR AGAINST SOMALIA. HE AND THOSE BLOODY RUSSIANS CAUSED US TO LOSE THAT WAR AND MOST OF OUR FIGHTING MEN. I REALIZE THAT THIS IS GENERAL SECTION SO I DON'T WANT TO SAY ANYMORE BUT HEY CASTRO IF YOU FEEL THAT YOU NEED TO BE FILLED UP WITH MORE, COME OVER TO THE POLITICAL SECTION. SALAMU CALAYKUM.
  24. SALAMU CALAYUM, TO ALL MY FELLOW NOMADS, WHO FLED HOME DURING THE CIVIL WARS AND AS RESULT WERE VERY YOUNG TO LEARN ABOUT THEIR NATIVE TONGUE, HERE IS LITTLE LESSON ABOUT YOUR NATIVE LANGUAGE. THIS ALSO APPLIES THOSE WHO WERE BORN OUTSIDE OF THEIR NATIVE LAND AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THEIR NATIVE LANGUAGE;SOMALI. Where is Somali spoken? The Somali language, one of the major languages in Africa, is spoken in Somalia/Somaliland, Kenya, Ethiopia and the Republic of Djibouti. In fact, it is one of the few that have 10 million or more native speakers in Africa. There are also communities of Somali speakers in most countries in East Africa, the Middle East, Western Europe, and North America. Click here to see map. How many people speak Somali as a native language? No one knows the exact number. But probably about 15 million more or less. There are also many people, mainly Oromos, in Ethiopia and Kenya who speak Somali as a second language; some Afars in Djibouti also speak it as a second language. Both Oromos and Afars speak a related language. Is it a written language? Yes, Somali is a written language. After a century of debate which saw the proposition of several codes, the final decision was the adoption of a Latin script in 1972. The problems and debates surrounding the writing of Somali are analogous to the debates and problems which surrounded the passage from Latin to English in England. In both cases, there is one language used by the clergy and élites but which is uknown to the illiterate populace. In the case of England, the language of the church and the élites was Latin; the Somali counterpart is Arabic. However, Arabic is still the liturgical language among Somali speakers. Is it an official language? Yes, Somali is an official language of at least one country, Somalia, now in chaos. It is also the official language of Somaliland or northern Somalia, which broke away in 1991, and has a now a fully functional government of its own, and a parlament. Is it a school language? Yes, it has been a school language since 1972. Its vocabulary has been greatly enriched since and thus it has all the modern scientific terms taught in school subjects. Is it a broadcast language? Numerous radios servics both local, regional and overseas carry Somali. Among the BBC Somali Service; others include Radio Moscow, Radio Cairo, etc.; the national radios of Kenya, Ethiopia, and Djibouti. Does it have a written literature? Yes, it has both a written literature and an oral literature. Its literature includes a large repertoire of poetry known as 'classical Somali poetry.' © Mohamed Diriye Abdullahi 04 April, 1999 ALSO CHECK OUT THE SOMALI MAP. http://www.geocities.com/Paris/Louvre/2521/map.gif ALL THE PURPLE THAT YOU SEE ARE ALL PART OF SOMALIA.DON'T BE SURPRISED THAT SOMALIA IS BIGGER THAN BOTH EHTIOPIA AND KENYA. ALSO THE PINK IS PART OF SOMALIA.
  25. WHAT IS THIS, DOES ANYONE REALIZE THIS ISN'T THE GERERAL SECTION, GO HAVE YOUR WASTEFUL CONVERSATIONS IN OTHER SECTIONS AND LEAVE THIS TOPIC TO THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT POLITICS. SALAMU CALAYKUM.
