Assalamu Calaykum, Yes I agree brother, that is why our religion doesnt allowed dogs being kept as pet without any useful means. These dogs lay around and chase innocent folks walking down the street such as yourself. I agree if it so happens, it should be taken away from the owner, and the owner must face some type of punishment for his/her carelessness. And please guys, keep telling how you guys will hold your ground while a mad pitbull is coming at you, I don't see how. However, the best thing is just sit down or stay flat to the ground, and don't run nor stand up, just sit down. Trust me brother Khayr, I have done it once before while I was being chased by a dog and it worked, the thing just smelled my clothes, because it couldn't find a good place to bite. This technique also applies to other animal threats such as being chased by cows with long horn. Assalamu Calaykum.

Assalamu Calaykum, Ms. Ibtisam, it's good that you are concern for the people who will come after us, but you should know, if this continental split so happens, they will then split along with the land that they are on, therefore they won't be any harms way. The continent is spilliting apart not the people, and water will be in between where we live now an the rest of Africa, by then I am sure boats and ships will be in handy. asalamu calaykum.

ASSALAMU CALAYKUM, Most of us from time to time experience decline to our Iman or faith, it's very common symptom especially if you live in the west. The Iman or the faith is the most important part that we possess, since it determines where our final destination would be in the hereafter. So why not give it what it needs to assure yourself among the company of those who are closest to Allah. The best prescription that can be prescribe to you to avoid the decline of your Iman is indeed the recitation and listening to the glorious Qur'an. Every Shiekh or lecture that I listen to almost always brings this important subject up, and they uninomously all agree that the Quran can cure this and increase your Iman if the Quran is read while focusing on its meanings and the messages that it carries. Anytime, I feel I am getting to that point, I read the Quran. I have purchased countless CDs to listen in my car since I am almost always on the move. I read the Quran in the Masjid before prayers, and at home everytime I have time, and you can't imagine the difference, I therefore feel that I share with you that you can too, by simply reading the Quran, however with good honest intentions. I plan to continue on until, my Iman is fully loaded, then it will lead me to anywhere where there are good things. After while you might see yourself in tears, because eyes don't bring the tears, the Qalb creates the tears when it makes connections with its creator. So brothers and sisters don't forget that we can be among the departed anytime now, and we must be prepared for that moment always. Read this Surah: Time In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. [76.1] There surely came over man a period of time when he was a thing not worth mentioning. [76.2] Surely We have created man from a small life-germ uniting (itself): We mean to try him, so We have made him hearing, seeing. [76.3] Surely We have shown him the way: he may be thankful or unthankful. [76.4] Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains and shackles and a burning fire. [76.5] Surely the righteous shall drink of a cup the admixture of which is camphor [76.6] A fountain from which the servants of Allah shall drink; they make it to flow a (goodly) flowing forth. [76.7] They fulfill vows and fear a day the evil of which shall be spreading far and wide. [76.8] And they give food out of love for Him to the poor and the orphan and the captive: [76.9] We only feed you for Allah's sake; we desire from you neither reward nor thanks: [76.10] Surely we fear from our Lord a stern, distressful day. [76.11] Therefore Allah win guard them from the evil of that day and cause them to meet with ease and happiness; [76.12] And reward them, because they were patient, with garden and silk, [76.13] Reclining therein on raised couches, they shall find therein neither (the severe heat of) the sun nor intense cold. [76.14] And close down upon them (shall be) its shadows, and its fruits shall be made near (to them), being easy to reach. [76.15] And there shall be made to go round about them vessels of silver and goblets which are of glass, [76.16] (Transparent as) glass, made of silver; they have measured them according to a measure. [76.17] And they shall be made to drink therein a cup the admixture of which shall be ginger, [76.18] (Of) a fountain therein which is named Salsabil. [76.19] And round about them shall go youths never altering in age; when you see them you will think them to be scattered pearls. [76.20] And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom. [76.21] Upon them shall be garments of fine green silk and thick silk interwoven with gold, and they shall be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall make them drink a pure drink. [76.22] Surely this is a reward for you, and your striving shall be recompensed. [76.23] Surely We Ourselves have revealed the Quran to you revealing (it) in portions. [76.24] Therefore wait patiently for the command of your Lord, and obey not from among them a sinner or an ungrateful one. [76.25] And glorify the name of your Lord morning and evening. [76.26] And during part of the night adore Him, and give glory to Him (a) long (part of the) night. [76.27] Surely these love the transitory and neglect a grievous day before them. [76.28] We created them and made firm their make, and when We please We will bring in their place the likes of them by a change. [76.29] Surely this is a reminder, so whoever pleases takes to his Lord a way. [76.30] And you do not please except that Allah please, surely Allah is Knowing, Wise; [76.31] He makes whom He pleases to enter into His mercy; and (as for) the unjust, He has prepared for them a painful chastisement Thanks in large part to Shiekh Nur, I might not go back to the "political section" of SOL, I will make my home here in the Islamic section. Assalamu Calaykum.

Assalamu Calaykum, The verses that brings tear to my eyes everytime that I recite are these Ayahs especially this one in Suratul Xashri:When recited in the Quranic language (Arabic), they sound even more beautiful. [59.21] Had We sent down this Quran on a mountain, you would certainly have seen it falling down, splitting asunder because of the fear of Allah, and We set forth these parables to men that they may reflect. [59.22] He is Allah besides Whom there is no god; the Knower of the unseen and the seen; He is the Beneficent, the Merciful [59.23] He is Allah, besides Whom there is no god; the King, the Holy, the Giver of peace, the Granter of security, Guardian over all, the Mighty, the Supreme, the Possessor of every greatness Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him). [59.24] He is Allah the Creator, the Maker, the Fashioner; His are the most excellent names; whatever is in the heavens and the earth declares His glory; and He is the Mighty, the Wise. Can someone say Allahu Akbar!!! Shiekh Nur, Jazaakalahu Khayran. May Allah forgive all your sins and your waalidayn walaalo. Assalamu Calaykum.

Bin Laden: West ‘proves’ it is at war with Islam Al-Qaida chief blasts ending aid to Hamas-led Palestinian government Reuters file Osama bin Laden, seen in May 1998, purportedly released a new tape Sunday after three months of silence. • International Terrorism News • U.S. Security News • Learn more about RSS NBC News and news services Updated: 3:14 p.m. ET April 23, 2006 CAIRO, Egypt - Osama bin Laden issued ominous new threats in an audiotape broadcast Sunday, purportedly saying the West was at war with Islam and calling on his followers to go to Sudan to fight a proposed U.N. force. In his first new message in three months, bin Laden said the West’s decision to cut off funds to the Palestinians because their Hamas leaders refuse to recognize Israel proved that the United States and Europe were conducting “a Zionist crusader war on Islam.†“The blockade which the West is imposing on the government of Hamas proves that there is a Zionist crusader war on Islam,†said the speaker on the tape broadcast by the Al-Jazeera network. “I say that this war is the joint responsibility of the people and the governments. While the war continues, the people renew their allegiance to their rulers and politicians and continue to send their sons to our countries to fight us.†The voice on the tape sounded strong and resembled that on previous recordings attributed to bin Laden. There was no way to independently verify the authenticity of the tape, but a senior U.S. intelligence official tells NBC News that the voice on the tape appears to be that of bin Laden. “The voice sounds like his,†said the official, who requested anonymity. “Technical analysis is still underway and its important to note that every tape, video or audio ascribed to bin Laden has turned out to be authentic." Attacking Israel 'more politically correct' Israeli government spokesman Raanan Gissin said bin Laden had decided to attack Israel to deflect growing Arab animosity toward al-Qaida. “When he attacks Israel, this is something the Arab world can agree upon,†Gissin said. “He has been criticized for the destruction and carnage he’s causing the Muslim nation. He’s looking for another justification ... Criticizing Israel sounds more politically correct.†Al-Qaida is believed to have no direct links to Hamas, which is an outgrowth of the Muslim Brotherhood, but they share an anti-Israel ideology that calls for the destruction of the Jewish state. Recent media reports in the Middle East have said al-Qaida is building cells in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Sudan. Related content Bin Laden tapes: A timeline since 9/11 Israel indicts al-Qaida members Israel has indicted two West Bank militants for al-Qaida membership and a Palestinian security official has acknowledged al-Qaida is “organizing cells and gathering supporters,†although Israeli officials say the inroads appear preliminary. A Hamas spokesman said the militant group’s ideology is vastly different from al-Qaida’s but noted that international sanctions on the Palestinian government would naturally cause anger among some Muslims. “It’s natural that this tension is going to create an impression that there is a Western-Israeli alliance working against the Palestinians,†Sami Abu Zuhri said, adding that Hamas is interested in having good relations with the West. Bin Laden also addressed the conflict in Sudan, where he was based before being expelled under threats from the United States. He then moved to Afghanistan and is believed to be hiding out in the rugged mountains on the Pakistani side of their common border Source:http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12446550/?GT1=7938 www.msnnbc.msn.com

Assalamu Calaykum. Hey Sheikh Khalaf, do that in little more logical way and edit those Qabiil names, then I tell you my friend it would make a heck of a speech.Very unfunny otherwise. They say the khat part killed it, I say the Qabiil part killed it,you could have used regional terms instead of the qabiil names, also you expose your lack of knowledge of Qabiil, good for you brother. I am proud of you that you don't even know the qabiil names. We need to forget about the whole darn thing, it did more damage to us by using it, let it not be our identity, how is that sound? I say let us not call ourselves of our Qabiil names and see the results. Assalamu Calaykum.
-
Mr. Yahoo Uk, we get you point sxb. and you are right, we would be much better off if we people were thinking like that, but that isn't the reality on the ground and it's unfortunate. Be little careful though of the usage of the actual Qabiil names though, it's against the rules of SOL. Thanks for you delightful way of thinking bro. Assalamu Calaykum.

very good Zafir. Everybody should be concern abou their deeds and whether their final destination is Paradise or the Hell fire (ciyaadu bilaah). Hey sister, remember it's in 10 million years, by then who is dead and who is alive. Worry about your own time, because that is uncertain of when and it's unpredictable. Thanks for the info though Ibt., it doesn't hurt to know. I remember from Earth science class in High school when they use to talk about continental drift, they said it would be called the "African Sea" after it splits from the rest of Africa's continental body. Iran's army ready to retaliate Tehran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday that Iran would "cut off the hand of any aggressor", as the Islamic republic's army put on a show of strength in their annual military parade. In a speech marking the country's national armed forces day, Ahmadinejad said: "The enemies know that the Iranian army ranks among the most powerful armies in the world. "The powerful army of the Islamic Republic of Iran is in the service of peace and security and is no threat to anyone. But in the face of enemies, it is like a meteorite. "It will cut off the hand of any aggressor and leave the enemy covered in shame. "The army must always be equipped and ready, and have mastered the latest technology, to respond to any aggression. We want peace, security and progress for all people, in particular the countries of the region and our neighbours." Iran is under mounting international pressure over its disputed nuclear programme. Iran insists programme is peaceful It is refusing to comply with a United Nations security council demand to freeze sensitive uranium enrichment work by April 28. The country insists its programme is peaceful, but enrichment can be extended from making reactor fuel to the production of warheads. The parade showed Iran's military might in the face of mounting speculation that United States President George W Bush is considering military action against the country. On show was a array of conventional battlefield weapons - including freshly painted Soviet-era tanks, mobile rocket launchers, short-range missiles, camouflaged trail motorcycles, pilotless aircraft and helicopters. Next to the podium seating Ahmadinejad and top military brass was the slogan: "We can". Iran's medium-range ballistic missiles - Shahab-3s which are capable of hitting Israel -were not on display. They are handled by the revolutionary guards, a separate military force to the country's regular army. The annual military parade came as the five permanent members of the security council - Britain, China, France, Russia and the US - and Germany, were to meet in Moscow to discuss the nuclear crisis. Punitive measures on the agenda The US has said punitive measures, such as freezing Iranian assets or imposing travel restrictions on senior officials, will be on the agenda. Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson, Hamid Reza Asefi, said: "The 5+1 meeting in Moscow is more important for the participating countries than for us, because if they do not act wisely and make a mistake, they are the ones who will suffer losses." "The 5+1 participants should bear in mind that whenever the Islamic republic of Iran has been under pressure, the result has been the reverse." The security council is awaiting a report, due by April 28, from Mohamed El-Baradei, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, on Iran's compliance with its demands to freeze enrichment.
