  1. Well, if you can get away with it.. Most people would have to work like dogs or be born into wealth to afford to live in a half decent area. I personally got no problem with the 'expose', if you're that ******, you kind of deserve it. It's not a reflection on the hard working Somalis. The UK system favours the lazy. I hope they do something about it.
  2. Insha Allah, waa runtaa waa in la isla shaqeeyo. Allow sahal amuuraha. Ameen.
  3. I'm not saying to shelf it. They need stop being so obsessed with it, they have the recognition and support of their people, that's more important than the IC. There are more pertinent issues which need dealing with and you don't need international recognistion to sort them out. Put dadka before dalka.
  4. Naga daaya, 'recognition' baad nagu waasheen. Aynu is habayno marka hore, ictiraafka Illahay ayaa haya.. Bisinka qabsada, this dawlad has much to do, I hope they don't start using the 'recognistion' baan ku maqanahay excuse too.
  5. ^it could possibly make you over-weight or obese, most of coplaints are due to being over weight, runta hadi la isku sheego. Islamically you're not supposed to eat for full-ness. That I think is the biggest food issue for us.

nuune, Abdi Bile, invented it.. Latest from Dadka Madaw waa Duli News , xitaa Germans-kii ayaa South Africans ku sixir u qoreen, ma maqashay? Waa waxay afar , afar ugu dhaliyaan.
  7. Hopefully this weekend. Maya, maya the date is definitely not off. That will be the exception, I'll go without chocolate untill then, markaa igu gur. LOL. I think the good genes expires by a certain age.. bari dhaw 'wey fuurtay' aad dhaheesaan.. I'm heading that way.
  8. ^I'm with you. *note to self, this incldes eating chocolate in moderation* Nothing wrong with bariis and pasta on regular basis but I think we have a problem with balance and portion.
  9. I think her problem is all the weaves, gluing and threading she been wearing since errm.. forever. I've never seen Naomi with natural hair? I thought braiding helped hair grow. I really like natural looks like braids, twists and curls.. all I'm told are bad for your hair baryahan?

^ . Here we go again, a black athlete can't be great on their on merit. Their success must be credited to drugs, black magic or some nonesense of her being a man. Uf! I love it that she's so gracious about her greatness as athlete. Well done, girl!
  11. ^Kula yaabey, saaxibay. Meesha buufis iyo huuhaa ba laisku dhurayaa. Would love to read Jurnee's response to the comments.. You're better off talking to hooyo and relatives, sis.
  12. Horta why is markay reero S.weyn sheeko kale waayaan Yahuuday la soo boodaan to discredit Somaliland?? First the thread in Politics and now Tuujiye digs up this article. Haa Yahuud baanu nahay. Maxaa idinka kagalay ma idinkaa na abuuray mise hidaaydaa ayaa la idiin dhiibey, mise biil baad naga bixisaan? Shaqo kale yeesha. BACK to the elections.. Anagaa wadana. It's quietened down now. Illahay si khayr leh ha u dhameeyo..
  13. ^LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL@wuu ku dilaa. Oo kaaley,ma dad qof aanay arag guursadaa jira? Yaab. Azizah, Paranoiyada kuu ma fiicna, shaydaanka iska naar, bisinka qabso, liberate yourself, illayn qadar-kaagu kuma seegayee. Inan yar baad tahee, waaxay qardhabtanu.. LOL Teeda kale, qofka dabeecadiisu kuma xidhna xaguu daganyahay iyo siday ehelkiisu yihiin, so guurku siduusuba waa big gamble. Haduu ku kibro dee, she can get her araweelo on and if that fails, dee hooyadeed iyo reerkay ka dhalatay ha u noqoto, raxmadi furan, say islaantii tidhi.. Aduunka maxaa laisku cidhiidhiyaa horta?
  14. You need a sponsor, qof dagan meesha. Look here: http://www.dnrd.ae/DNRD?lang=en-GB but the best people to talk to are the guys at the Somali consulate Abu Dhabi. He will need to get the new passport as the old ones are prone to musuqmaasiq and therefore banned.
  15. I think you watch far too many movies. LOL. Moving abroad is not a recipe for marital disaster. She won't be the first or last woman to move abroad for a hubby or work.. At least qof jecel ay u guuraysaa. Why do assume in aanay aqoon, he could be her ina abti, qaraabo or childhood friend for all you know..
  16. I don't get the issue?? Inaad is guursatad rabtiin, he has a job that doesn't allow him to relocate -- the natural thing to do is.... I'm what the expatriate comunity calls a 'trailing spouse', I go where ever hubby's job takes us. We were married before we discussed and agreed on the move and it has been great for me. I personally love the idea of living in different lands and starting fresh, it's not easy to move and leave behind loved ones and settling in again but for me the excitement and newness of a city is amazing.. You'll make new friends and family can visit and vice versa and you can always get a job.. Take a chance, live a little. What's the worse that could happen?
  17. ^I love that song.. Modesty, We like the Afar and Oromo got the dirac from the Yemenis. Somali traditional wear waa sedex qayd iyo garays / guntiino.
  18. It's definitely cultural. Historically the position of women changed over decades with early 'golden era' being more favorable times in some places; there were more female scholars, judges and teachers which was reflected in fatwas. Hada the role of women has been reduced to reproduction and pleasing husbands which is far removed from what we learn about Muslim community of Madinah. Saudi intrigues me, most of their social problems are created by their obsession with segregating the sexes, from personal observation they have more problems than 'less conservative' Arab states.. .
  19. Okay, I've found a good explanation of the hadith on another site, it was a solution for keeping an adopted son in the house. Doesn't explain these stu*pid fatwas, though. My imam would get slapped silly, if he came out with such nonesense @ Che. It doesn't only contradict ayat on suckling but also those on modesty.
  20. I know your heart is in the right place, Bambina. However, considering the commmon age group of people who frequents this page, some of your advice if followed would potentially create uneasy relations between parents and children. I think it's super sweet that some moms go all out to buy things for their childrens homes- it's not religious or even cultural duty for that matter. It's love. As for the rest-- people just need to engage some common sense, really but I guess some need direction even in that. Anyway, welcome back..
  21. Originally posted by chocolate & honey: . Should they choose to, it is permissible and the guideline must be followed. Permissible to suckle grown men?????
  22. ^Oooooh a family wedding. Have fun. Try not kill anyone. I kid, all the best to your sis. I'A. Juxa, Becca waan inaan ka war keeno. Laura Mercier baan rabay but can't find it here.
  23. Go to department stores (staff are best trained) and ty on different brands, everyone is different and so will find that different foundations work for them. There's no such thing as Somali skin. Try tinted moisturisers, you get natural flawless. I hate the cakey wheighed down look of foundation - no matter how light thy claim to be, it feels like there's a mask on my face. Or just use concealer where you need it.
  24. Usually around six hours but I can sleep longer, if only my LOs weren't super early birds.
