  1. This is interesting and scary. Will there be more details?
  2. JB waan ku qoslay, runtii wax qurux lagu sheego midkoodna muu lahayn. Maraaksu mid kii kale ku yidhi, dee inantu foolxumadaada ayat ku qoslaysaa. LoooooL

  4. LOOL@hooyo screams less. I vouch for that walllahi. Gurigu meel lagu raaxaysto ayuu noqon, reerkuna iyaagoo xiiso isu qaba ayay isu iman. Kiro bilaash u soo gashay as tempting as it is waa bilaa barako, qiyaamahana iga daba imanaysaa maxaan ku fali. In la dhimanayaba loo ma haysto.
  5. Waxaan jeclaan lahaa in laga helo jaamacadaha Somaaliyeed, qayb u gaar ah Af Somaaliga iyo Sugaanta Somaaliyeed. Waagi hore miyay jireen? Anigu bugaag ay cadaan qoreen uun baan arkaa? Inkasta oo aan isleeyahay qofkii qiimeeya afkiina inuu kaligii is bari karo oo aqoontiisa korarsan karo haduu daadlo. Runtii, qurbo joog badan oo yaqaana waa buux, dhulka hooyana sadex jirka ayaa gabyi kara. Intaa ka dib, anigu waxaan qabaa in Af Somaligu traffic light cas yara hayo ee muu dhiman, weliba baryahan dad dhaqaaq sameenaya ayaad arkaysaa oo waxay u eegtahay in aqoonyahnkii Somaaliyeed u soo jeesteen masuuliyada ka saaran horumarka afka. Saadaashu way wacantahay..
  6. Masha Allah. Waa talo wacan. Waad ku mahadantahy. p.s Gabaygii 'Sirta nolosha ayaan ku xasuustay qoraalkan..

  8. Honestly, some of the naago aan arakay wax ka han yar waligay maan arkin, waanay isla quman yihiin, anoo Dubai jooga ayaa la ileeyahay guri coucil la soo bax. Seriously why?? And the men.. in rag lagu sheegoba maaha. Caydha, should only be given to the disabled iyo the eldery. Tii ilmayar haysata kii caloosha u biixayay ha u shaqeeyo ama child minder or nursery ha gayso-- there are registered Somali childminders hada, dhiishta hanaga daayaan. Dowlad dadka cawisana way la joogaan, they can do flexi time, get help with child care and even rent. They have no excuses.
  9. Horta tan nooceedu way yaryihiin, waa tuugo, say habeenkii u seexataa with all that xaraan. Bisinka! Somalida UK lazynimo ayaa u soo hoyatay oo facaooda ka reebtay. Dadka badankoodu ceeb uma arkaan caydha lagu nool yahay, kuwa waaweyn ayaa dhalinyaridii kula talinaya caydh iska qaado oo guri council ah lasoo bax, waa qaab xumo. Waxaa ugu yaab badan kuwan 'filthy gaalka' ka soo taagan oo had iyo jeer leh caruurta ayay naga xumeeyaan, hadana gaalka biilkiisa kuu nool.. xitaa markay ka haajiraan weli gaalka biilkiisa ayaa Afrika ama Masar ama Malaysia lagu dhargaa, markay is hayn kari wayaaan gaalkii baa lagu soo noqon oo iyagoo nimcadiisa ku nool ayay halkii cayda iyo aflogaado sii wadi. Cawaaninmo miyaanay ahayn. I really hope the Toris end this easy handout system iyo qaadka.. .
  10. Wyr, LOL. I've experienced a similar incident, laba faarax oo is haysta stoped me at some street in London and asked me keenee baa qurux badan?? I wish I read this book before then.
  11. Honetly, how true are these stories? Anigu uma malaynayo inay dumarka Somaalieed this sort of nonsense ka qaadanayaan cidna...
  12. ^I think it's more to do with the element of belonging to a group or a culture than the cloth it's self. The Arabs are very big on their cultural dress and preserving their identity by dressing in traditional cloths. Apart from the geel, horses, the pure Somali and poetry, the nomadic / baadiye life holds no appeals for me. I don't think our people should live like that in this century, I feel so sorry for masakiinta. Malika.. Weddings were so much fun and relaxed back in the day, even in the UK (90s) and I just loved how the faaraxs were abused on xeedho night and not traditional but everyone dancing to was just pure joy.. :D
  13. Why were they changed? Now everyone will claim their new sign describes them so well after years of bashing others.. Heh.
  14. What old customs do you have in mind? Suugaanta is essentially concerned with promoting culture..
  15. I like how the adhaan of my two local muadhins bounce of each other, they start excatly 10 seconds after each other. It's lovely at fajr when it's so quiet but ^you're right it is difficult to follow the adhaan for adkar purposes for instance..
  16. NG. Al forum waasac, yarow. Naga leexo. I don't get ppl who go on and on and on about Somali men and women (). You're not going to marry Somali men and women. Focus on the individual you're with and leave the rest of us alone. Shidh! Yes@ OP, we swear too!
  17. Correction, it's not forbidden but there are strict limitations and for good reason, an average Ali can't just walk into a masjid and give a xalaqah without certification, same goes for teaching Quran.

So where does the idea come from that we're supposed to be one country? The idea (Republic of Somalia) came from the Somali people.
  19. There could possibly be an innocent explanation such as your daughter not being in any of the pictures with the themes the teacher had in mind for the newsletter or that as JB said she's camera shy.. or it's not her turn yet (i.e if you have a class of 20, it's take awhile to include all) is the teacher using the same kids all the time? I understand where you're coming from sis, our school has a photo screen at reception and I always to stop when my LOs photos are streamed but then again my one is the biggest poser ever - LOL. Talk to the teacher about how she's doing generally and mention that you would like to see your little one in action..
  20. Wa ikyaki. Credit belongs to bro/sis behind this lovely site. It's an amazing reminder, so please pass it along..
  21. Just kidding sis, not having the luxuary of time to read for pleasure at the moment. I've recently read: 1. 'The Butterfly Mosque' by Willow G. Wilson - which gives a great insight to Cairian life from expatriat covert to islam perpective. 2. Diiwaanka Qosolka by Jamaal Hussien - a collection of funny Somali tales. Not finished yet but good so far. It's one of those you'll want to share. 3. Qurux Dumar iyo Damac Rag-- old battered booklet I found in my Aabos collection this summer. Unlike other Somali books it was easy to get into because it's poetically written but it's raw and changed my romantic view of Somalis of the past.
  22. This thread. "Hope there will be Somali titles too"
