  1. LOL. This gives a whole different meaning to Ducaysane's 'Noolaadee'. I doubt they are Somaali though. Nin Somaali oo labaystay oon madaxa ku socon weli maan arag.
  2. I remember hearing about this story as a kid, glad I found it.
  3. Orod isla yaab oo isla hadal intaad dadka kale dul saarantahay. Aflagaado socota gabigaaga dhanbaa ah. Ouf!!
  4. This has been the worse abaar in a long time. Reero dhan ayaa biyo la'aan awgeed u liita. Illahayow u gargaar. It really angers me that the government continues to ignore the blight of our nomads. It does not cost much to build wells in every village. Illahayow usahal.
  5. How is this lady a threat? She's a medical practice in Hargaisa and lectured in Boorama. I don't understand the article -- is she connected to the three men. Maxaa lagu haystaa? It doesn't make sense. Illahay ha u sahlo miskiinada, I hope they find her.
  6. A bank is a place of honour, ya Che. Are you sure about that? Wa in aan waraysanaa, Ng.
  7. Gartay, JB. Just amused at their sudden change of heart. It isn't even a year since the elections. LOL. Che. As I recall, he was a muxaafid in the Riyaale era too..
  8. So Saqajaankii ina jaad, the khasiis extraodinaire ayaa malmahan bilaabay inuu decency ka qudbadeeyo and Alpha Blondy is taking his own boolshid seriously. Cajaayib. Whatever next, Lazy in niqaab? Keep up the good work, Chimera.

Unlike the nomads in the neck of your woods, raggaan markey isa arkaan waxay isku salaamaan booweyaal, not waryee in a loud demanding tone. Loooool. Nice. one.
  10. Oh, dear! Diving into the nearest river on a very cold day will resolve this dilema for you. Toodles.....

Johnny B;713201 wrote: The choice as it were is yours Aliyah, and that the choice is only avaialable here in the filthy west goes without saying. You’re forever full of tosh, my dear. It's a choice everywhere except for Framce (with a few more European countries to follow). Even in the Jeddah (and off course the holy sanctuary) of Saudi you've a choice on niqaab. Prom. What do you think of the de facto partnership laws in Australia? The aim of these laws is protect the rights of de facto partners, giving same rights as married couples. What’s interesting is that these rights remain even if one is married to another and is also engaged in a de facto relationship. It’s pretty interesting as far as multiple partner and cultural progression arguments go.
  13. Allah, ma aragtaa. I was doing well till I started downloading a running programme on my ipod then I sneaked a few Somali songs in. It's my weakness. I like the beat of this song-- makes me really want to go home too. It's the first time I hear shukri actually, she has a unique, sweet voice.
  14. Illahay idinkii.. There are always excpetions, hee dhe. Laakin, understand what I'm saying, the good brothers tend to get snatched up pretty quickly. Teeda kale my idea of nin isku dhacayo doesn't include a narcistic faarax rabo naag caabuda like some earthly god. Anyway, I'm just musing, don't be put off oo iska bashaala walaaloyaal.
  15. Something is disingenious about this woman. He sounds like an absolute darling, deserves much better than this doqon Nuune and Malika, You don't actually believe that do ya? Physical and pyschological abuse usually go hand in hand.
  16. Kolay aniga oo aha the most critical of this trend ma ihi qof ka warwarsan in boos laga buuxiyo. Laakin, this 'trend' as you put (though I don't see it as such) is based on the implication in ay naagaha Hindia kuwa Soomaaliyeed dhaamaan as you've also hinted. I'm interested in what ways. Iska dhiibo ra'yigaaga, we won't hurt you. I find it interesting because this is a systematic approach to finding an Indian wife. Haday ahayd ardayda Somaaliyeed ee Hindia joogta oo hablo ay caashaqeen guursaday waa la fahmi lahaa. Laakin intaad tikidh goosatid, saylad dumar mid kala soo bax, with the main criteria in Hindiyad tahay waa sheeko kale. Ha ilaawin laakin, for every Faarax guursada naag wadan kale ka timi, waa xaa jirta xaliimo yana guursata nin aji nabi. Labada dhanba waa laga qulqulayaa. Illahay amarkii.

Aaliyah, I'd like to think that too, hon. Hadii kale gabadha dhibaata haysata.
  18. God, I love Timir cake. It's one of those dishes which I find intimidating to make but that recipe looks pretty straight forward, Val. Thanks for sharing. MsMoons This is an easy recipe, this is neater than making a pie -- 'm try this with a muffin case. There are variations and the original uses pastry rather than biscuits but I prefer the crunch of the biscuit base. Little banoffee pies •Serves: 6 •Prep time: 10 mins •Cooking time: 40 mins •Total time: 50 mins Base •225g (8oz) digestive biscuits •85g (3oz) butter, melted Filling: •397g can Carnation Caramel •3 small bananas •150ml carton whipping cream, softly whipped •cocoa powder to finish You will also need: •6 individual 9 cm (3½in) loose-bottomed flan tins •Alternatively use a deep 18 cm (7in) spring-form cake tin, greased Method 1.Crush the biscuits in a blender or in a double-lined bag with a rolling pin. Combine the crushed biscuits with the melted butter. 2.To make the pie bases use the back of a teaspoon to press the mixture into the base and sides of the tins. Chill for about 20 minutes. 3.Divide the Carnation Caramel between the bases. 4.Remove the pies from the tins. Slice the bananas, reserve six for the top and fold the rest into the softly whipped cream. 5.Spoon the mixture over the caramel, decorate with a banana slice and dust with the cocoa. BTW.. If you can't find the carnation caramel, get a can of carnation milk put it in a large pan filled with water and boil for three hours. Keep topping up the water, the can has to be completely submerged in the water or you might end up with a nasty explosion.
  19. Al Maskin, waa in 'calaacal laguu fasiro' yah. Aniga waxaan idhi uun raga guurku ku adkaado haday meel aan la diidayn (baahidu wayntahay) aadan waa xaqooda. Runta ayaan sheegayaa, hablaha aan walaalo nahay ee Somaalia jooga marka rag Europe ka tagay doontaan, suaasha hore oo ay is waydiiyaan waa 'maxaa ka si ah?, it's a valid point, nin wax ka dhiman yihiin ayuunbaa this level of desperation ku dhaqaaqi lahaa. Raga Somaaliyeed ee qurux, dadnimo iyo karti isku darsaday inay xaliimooyinka ag jooga ka fakadaan way adagtahay. Having said that, personally as I said squillion times before if a Somali chooses to marry Arab, cadaan, madaw, gaal or even an alien xaq bay u leeyihiin.

Blessed, I'm sorry that you find voicing concern for the plight of millions of Muslim women a nuisance of sort. I'm truly sorry, please accept my deepest apology on behalf of all those who work and speak tirelessly about women and issues facing women. You amuse me, wallahi.
