  1. InshaAllah, all the best walaalo. Everything will fall into place somehow, don't worry yourself at all. LOL. Aaliyah, the teens in my family make me feel so ancient, your day baa la igala bixi waayay. LOL@ at window shopping, yeah that would be awkward. Laakin, `gabdho sameeya ayaan arkay.
  2. Kabash, kabash. Cawke's show was the only thing Universal had going for it.
  3. well, in my day that was common practise.. LOL I guess most Somali marriages I know off happen in the ME and they do things the old skool way, I've older cousins who were engaged for several years. As far as the deen is concerned though, if you're talking to a guy about marriage he needs to approach your family asap.
  4. Nice, that's unique but I would like more horsepower.
  5. Doonis usually takes 3 months to a year because it just takes that long to sort everything out. It's better inaad isu doonan tihiin with the blessing of your parents, inho.
  6. I love the interior of the Mini cooper, soo pretty. I'm a bit fussy about cars, the car of my dreams lama samayn weli but I'm happy to drive anything for now..
  7. Good point Malika, the abaaya is dhaqan for many, even with Somalis in the UK..
  8. ^To give up something you love for the sake of Allah has so much barakah in it and you know that He will replace it with something better. Insha Allah. btw.. I've a website link that you may like -- but will PM. I'A
  9. I think it's the shade of red, the one I was given is very bright, I do have a darker shade which is alright. I love my colourful hijabs, so what if I look like a rainbow. Rainbows are beautiful. I went through the black only phase -- how miserable was that, even hooyo hated it and she'd often threaten to throw my clothes away .. LOL.

  11. I've only ever had the coating business done to my nails when I got this nail spa gift voucher from friends all I remember is that it was tedious exercise which took about 10 mins to dry out. Manicurists in the UAE ask if you're praying and then they shine your nail which looks lovely. I'm not sure how I feel about colour, it looks cute on others but I stick to neutral shades. One of the mums at school got me a red nail varnish as a gift I kinda find red a bit errm tarty (no offence to anyone who wears red).. Btw, Aaliyah. Hijab colours are fine in a country where colour is the norm -- it's better that you blend in rather than stand out.
  12. watching my girls play and the conversations we have, they are so cute (and you just have to take my words for it).. blue skies, sunset/rise, greenery, water (Allah's art). Some surahs in the Quran ticking off another thing on my TDL good food + good company a box of chocolates.... the hubster seeing acts of kindness by others when some1 says 'say cheers" but most Somalis spoil the moment by fiddling with the camera..

  14. ^Feltham is also in London, a predominantly multicultural city, nation wide statistics will paint another picture entirely but this is the sun, don't expect in but a pack of lies.. Abdul.. Allah will not change the condition of a people, until they change what is within themselves. Wiil Cusub;746686 wrote: Its chairman Sir Andrew Green said: "Clearly the efforts made to integrate these people from immigrant communities have failed." The Sun obtained the figures through a Freedom of Information request. They appear to confirm studies over the last ten years showing a steady rise in crimes committed by young Somali men. On the contraire, they are a bunch of chavs who have share the peculiar sense of entitlement and cynicism found in many British youth.
  15. Odd title bot a good, useful reminder, ma. Thanks for sharing, hon.
  16. Heartbreaking story, I hope this child is loved by whoever has him now. I'm not surprised by her action though, your children easily become the very purpose of your existence.
  17. ^She's nothing on Magool's cover. That's my all time favourit song. So feeling this song right now. Gabadhani way ugu cusubtahay. She's quiet good, love her whole demeanor.

  19. ^LOL. Wuu u hoos galinayaa ma aragtaa. Horta, odaygii Islington ka tagay weli miyuu joogaa wadankii. I think waxaa laga dhigay Mayor of Muqdisho or sumin. Rag siyaasi wada noqay as the poet said...

Let her take the wedding test and if she still claims that she's tired I'll strongly recommend that she sees a doctor (none of this vitamin d stuff). How does this work? I went to a wedding last night, the quietest and most organised I've ever been to (no it wasn't a Somali one LOL) yet am still dizzy from the music and qosol. *yawn*
