Somaliland- the least negative country in the world
Blessed replied to ToasterThief's topic in General
The guys who did this research probably didn't go to Burco or Hargaisa waa dagaal socda, especially saacada qaadka. LOL. Berbera on the other hand, aduunkaad jeclaanaysaa. it's so calm and mellow. I heard Boorama is the same. Jokes aside, people back home are easily pleased and well connected to Allah. If they make enough to feed the family on that day, they are like 'Alhamdulilah waxba igama maqna'. Somalida westka joogtaa imaankii alle ka qaaday, xitaa farxadii eebe siiyay ayay dadkale u quudhi la'yihiin. Cajiib! -
That surprised me too. Berbera has a large stretch of beach, the girls could have easily found themselves a spot away from the boys and the cameras, didn't see the point of taking the poor things, if they were going to be locked in the bus. p.s I've been to Berbera beach several times and no one bothered us. In fact, it's usually empty. True say, Aaliyah and you're Somali is fantastic.

Hope something comes out of it althou it is too late. Discipline your children when they are kids. Don't wake up when they are adults and cry about it. Well said! Caruurbaa basar la baraa.

Interesting.. NG, did you have a random Somali interrogation moment before you've started this thread? They tend catch me off guard odayaashu.

Abdullah, AbdulRaxman etc are the most beloved names to Allah. Adigu gabadh caruur kuu dhasha doono oo waxaad doonto u bixi, you don't have to worry about the remaining 10million of us.

^Salaan sare. Uma maleynayo in jilbahayga cid halkan og oo ixaman lahayd joogto. Laakin, ma xuma. Khadra waan doondoonayay, haday soo dhawaatay waa khayr. Waa ina ayo?

Did Abtigiis misread you too? If so, I blame him. I'm not talking about your physical looks, waxba igama galin, it's your stream of ugly thoughts that I refer to. Again, in the above post.

Bantu aren't ugly, Alpha. You are!

Illahay guurkooda ha u barakeeyo. Haduu socon waayana, ma aji ku sheegaan is furin? That itself is qabiilist thinking. I know a few mixed families who despite the stigma managed to live happily and raise proud children. These are qurbawis, so maybe that makes a difference. Off course, dad la diidayna even in qurbaha way jiraan. Waxaa la yidhaah dadna dunidaa lagu ciqaaba, dadna aakhiro, reer xaafadayada deganaa, waxaan hubaa in siday inan dhalinyaro ah oo diiniyo dabeecad leh u bahdileen, illahay uga aar guday. Dhowr sano kadib, inantay la hanweynayeen iyo laba wiill oo ay dhaleen nolosha gabigeedaba way ka dhaceen oo dad camalkooda la caayo ayay noqdeen. Coofle, Cumar Dhuule and Tubeec, Maryan Mursal iyo Nimco Yassin (before she jumped ship) waa fanaaniin lagu faano oo la jecelyahay, I don't think they were treated any differently to other fanaaniin, at least in the public sphere.

Dee inagana maxaa inoo diiday. Carabiga iyo orodka hadaan isku darsano tijaar al caalam bay noqon lahayn.

^Thanks. Ka dabaalo waa ku kaase@ Showqi. LOL. It's cool. Kolay anaa kaa maqac qurxoon ee iska qarso.

It's only right that I know your name, Showqi. Buuro, I've an old aunt called Baar. A tree or part / type of tree?

Buurahadeer, the Somali-Yemeni link goes further back than 70 years ago. With Somalis traveling to Yemen for business and vice versa, there were also many Yemeni settlers in coastal towns. I do agree with the rest of your post. Though, I personally think, naming a child need not be a nationalist exercise, go with what sounds nice, I say. A name does not determine your engagement with your dhaqan.

Aasia is also the name of the righteous wive of Fircon who has adopted the Prophet Musa (AS), it has nothing to do with qaarada. Along with Mariam, mother of Isa and Fatima Bint Rasullah (RA) she is considered a leader of the women of paradise. It's an Islamic name, a name worth having..
