  1. Sayid, nice one@stop abusing maids. Wyr, Not sure what you're saying? Does qado kari iyo dhar dhaq offend you? Mise waxaad leedahay gabdhaha Europe jooga suuqa ayay wareegaan mar walba oo reerahooda mahaystaan?
  2. Wyr, not sure what 'in dusha la ii raro' means but I think waan is fahanay. Our beautiful deen is all about kind, humble, supportive men (and women) and even the greatest man on earth, despite his role as the spiritual guide and leader of the ummah, never felt too important to be 'domesticated'. LOL Juxa, ma ila aragtay. Iyaga iyo wixii guursadaa ku dhib qaba.

Who are these 'spinsters' Alpha? Our community does have a crises of masculinity leading to crime, war and general chaos because many of our idi*tic lads think manhood is above decency and taking care of ones family. Pushing a stroller doesn't even scratch the surface.
  5. I've known a few SAHDs through work, doesn't sound as lovely as SAHM does it? I agree with Malika that is a good set up for a family where the mother earns more and enough to support the family with one income, but I think Juxa has raised a good point, in that society (and our more so) there's an expectation for a father to provide and mother to care, the title of this thread itself spells out these expectations.. Does dad become mom? Or a full time stay at home dad and mum a full time worker and vice a versa and arn't both providing for and caring for their children in different ways?
  6. Hahaha. Val. My coded duco got Caano Geel super excited about his trip, I thinks.
  7. Oh dear, waa runtaa... I shall slap my wrists for that silly mistake. Please, continue. In a new thread. What happened to the dariiqa community?
  8. I'm also considering a visit to Turkey with hooyo this Autmn. Narniah, sounds like you had a good time. Can you recommend places to visit? I know of the Sophia mosque. Does Istanbul have traditional markets?
  9. Sheikh is famous primarily for the mountain range, the mild climate and the secondary school. The Amir ruined it with his dodegy looking 'house'.
  10. Hahaha. That was so cruel, I'm glad anoon shaah baran inaan meesha ka tagay, hadii kale tuug afar kooble ah ayaan noqon lahaa. Speaking of Ayeeyo, waxaan xasuustaa sida markay khamradu ka badato ay koobka madaxa marmarin jireen. I've since learnt that does have soothing effects. LOL.
  11. Grand it is, but Sheikh my dear, waa laba talaabo iyo boqol buuro.
  12. Showqi... Geel jacaylkii baa geeljire lagu noqdaa, get that right, yeah. Sadly (or maybe not) geljire girls weren't allowed shaah. Burco too, Carafaat? I wasn't aware. Hooyo used to make refrence to 'hablihii hore' and I was told many weird and wonderful reasons for the shaah ban too.
  13. Me too, so excited. InshaAllah. Juxa, try to go Umrah with them if you can, you're soul will thank you.
  14. Truth is, there aren't that many cities in Somalia. Most of the places mentioned are Towns and Villages. Still, if it's people's favourit places, so be it, don't see why we're being so fussy, to be honest. Muqdisho and Barawe in Somalia and Jabouti for me. Haven't been to these places, the people in my life and stories associated with the places that makes me want to visit in the future. InshaAllah. Oh. and they are also coastal cities which suites me just fine.
  15. ^Talking of xaraarad, shaah addiction waalan ayaan leeyahay, I've started to cut down for Ramadan and feeling fuzzy brained. That's a fantastic website, Carfaat. Thanks for sharing. I'm going to start on the sweets. Yum.
  16. Enjoy it, Caano Geel. Illahay ha kuu barakeeyo.
  17. Where's the sinjibiil? I love all sorts of xawaash. If a meal has no xawaash, I'm not toucing it. p.s loving the map, it gave me a cool madbakh craft idea.
  18. LoooooL. Eesh calaa gabay. Si daacad ah ayaan u qoslay wallaahay.
  19. With the current economic climate, most are probably pushed into the role rather than it being a gesture of greater love or whatnot.. I really like the family policies they have over in Sweden, Norway etc.. where parents are both given parental leave in the first two/three years (mother have more), after which they have access to high quality government run child care with highly qualified staff but also .. parents can arrange their working hours- so that one parents can drop the child off before work and the other after with the child not spending more than 7 hours in ECE and primary school... that has got to be the best system I came across, would be great if other nations replicated it. Then, there's ayeeyo, habaryaro, eedo day care, Illahay ha barakeeyo. That's a nice setup KK.
  20. Ma tidhi? LOL. I do like encounters with odayaasha, even when they weird you out with 50 questions, they tend to be kind and funny about it...
  21. LOL@Wiilal wanaagsan. Arrogant faduuli is the term I prefer to use.
  22. This is so common in London, that it doesn't suprise me.
