I guess de reason why dis whole united Somalia thang is in my head soo much is because I only just recently got used to de term and ideaology of Somaliland when I went there last summer. I grew up lovin all Somalis for being Somali and I guess I always will to de day I die! Howeva I also hav great hopes and dreams for Somaliland. [/QB] Sweetie. I am totaly with you on this one. I really hope taht one day we can have some form of unity. Like Scotland + England, The Emirates, The USA and all those countries with decentralised state. I also, have a feeling that is how we will end up. Laakiin, I personaly don't feel that Somaliland should give up it's independence untill there is peace in the South and untill our people are ready for such unity. May be in 5 ten years or longer ... but not now! Also, I don't know if you already know but theres been a refferendom on this and 97% of Somalilanders who voted wanted independence ... this shows that if unity is imposed on landers now, there will be resistence - which is understandable considering how hard they've worked for their independence and the lack of trust that exists between our people (north south - east west). The ppl have to want to be one - not forced into it... after all it is they that have to live with governement ... not us spoilt qurbo kids  But in Sha Allah .. when the rest of Somalia gains the peace and stability that S.land has and is (still) working towards and our people are reconciled .... I don't see why we shouldn't reunite. It makes us stronger in so many ways, na mean. and for Sland helping Somalia gain peace... Honestly and truely ... will reer Somalia allow Riyaale and UDUB to meddle in their affairs? landers rnot the only ones resisting unity. we got to be practicle hon. in the mean time let there be peace.. if it means having a thousand little states .. so be it ... peace should always be a priority.
  5. Mine were pretty good as well. Reactions have been great, espcially from the brothers and mothers. I gets so much respect it is unbelievable .. I feel like a queen of some sort. I can most definately get used to this
  6. Ameenah + Barwaaqo (Must be the Brit thing as Lk said) looooooooool. U know even off-line ppl tend to pair us up. I guess we have a lot in common .. but I'm sweeter Barwaqo is  as she reads this hehehehehehehehe!!

  8. Adding to what Baashe said, weren't you supposed avoid the doubtful matters? Furthermore, the issue of imitation comes into play, like Mob Deep said .. it is concept we have only come across as result of being exposed to western culture. Therefore, I would say that we are in a sense imitating the kaafirs. Xaraam or not.. it is disgusting and degrading, I personaly would leave it to the homos... Allah knows best..
  9. Interesting. I wonder if that is possible?
  10. Allah and Islam My Family Somalis who are loyal to me n my family I feel qabiil is such an abstract concept... 'Shiekh hebel' don't know me and I don't know him.. maxaa laisku kaayo khasbayaa?
  11. Regitering my vote. I've just read The African King Man, I'df give you a grammy for cheering me up Don't get all big headed on us now!
  12. Bari Nomad I've recently heard of something they call 'qudbo sir' practiced by somalis. You get married as you described and when ppl find out your automatically divorced. Apperently there are so called sheikhs that approve of this. Why not just get married the proper way?? On the issue.. Is upto ya'll if you want to disrespect Allah and face some dire consequences. I guess, your old enough to know and decide. In saying so, I note that a number of ya'll are advocating something which is xaraam. This is a major sin, please pay attention to what you write as there are minors on this site.
  13. Soon Islamic forum is gonna be on top. In Sha Allah. We are having an Islamic revival.. right here in SOL. Join the revolution ya'll ... think Large... Think Islam lol
  14. Where do you get that from.I don't see Silaanyo running to Burco to mobilizse an army or kaahin ordering the army to crush Kulmiye and by the way these same odayaal are the very reason Somaliland has peace.I just don't understand where you get all that. I been chatting to the elders, reading up and listening to the news. I think they could have handled the situation better- as grown ups do. But sorry for being concerned for my country. I guess we'll just ignore our leaders and follow their lead to - whatever   Somaliland has peace because the people of Somaliland want peace but there is still a lot to be done on the issue of unity (of Landers) and development of the nation - odayaashu seem more concerned with being in office then that.. my observation... U don't have to agree.
  15. Your welcome sisters. Glad you liked it as much as it did. May Allah reward the writer.. I have no idea who they are. Simple Woman Hope things work out for you walaalo. Life somehow get easier to endure when you have a connection with Allah. I've had a few props myself and I find the more I learn about islam and reach out to Allah .. the more trivial this wordly life seems. Hope Allah helps us all. Innocent, you know I feel sorry for Iman. From what she writes you can sort of tell that she wants Islam, she holds it in high regard. I think some ppl feel trapped as though there is no way out. I hope Allah guides her.
  16. This is a really cool thread. Thanx walaalos Ilhaam nice hadiith. so, basically, if you reach out to Allah, Allah will indeed reach out to you. Sweet
  17. The little gig in the middle was fab and I really like the line" you know where Somaliland is: Above Somalia" in every sense of the word. looooooooooooool, girl. I almost fell down with laughter. And when he said, this place is better then Ibiza -- you just know he was on about Berbera But, I thought the sis could've been given a better role, na mean. The show was the highlight for me - next year make it longer pls. I also loved the fcat that all those teens got some props for good achievment and footballing - that was really positive. Made me feel proud. God, I was shouting n clapping so hard ppl thought they were all my baby bros lol There were just too many ppl there! Ya'll need to find a bigger venue and make it more of a family event cos in the end it was like a riwayad na mean. Thumbs up all arround Are U a part of Nomad UK.. Mr?
  18. My, My all this cyper love threads... are the nomads feeling each other? PMs getting intresting !!! >>> war jecel .. fill me in ya'll lol Back to topic. Well, what do you know, I actually I don't get the question. Do you mean to as wether it is possible to fall in love with some1 U obly know through cyper? If thats the case, then it is a big fat NO (from me at least). But I think you can meet nice ppl online and that can certainly lead to love - after meeting real life. But computer based jacayl.. naah! I got to see the whole person to like / dislike them  Besides, imagine chatting to a dude and he turns out to be super ugly - Lord Have Mercy
  19. Originally posted by idil: Salaam Somaliland have created some sort of democracy, but it all is down to what does a person defines democracy as. Prior to the election there was conflict whether there would elections held in Sanag or Sool. There were disagreements between the Puntland government which said that a lot of the people that lived in those areas were Harti and therefore part of Puntland but the Somaliland government replied with that those areas were part of the British Somaliland Protectorate thus part of Somaliland (I don’t know if elections where held in the areas). And now that the election results have come through and Riyale has been named the president, his opponent (Silanyo) still has yet to accept the fact that Riyale has won, even after a recount of the votes. The problem with Somaliland is that it is very hard to understand if it is a qabiil based state. Sometimes I find myself asking that if an ***** candidate had won, with there be the resistance there is to the Gudabirsi (excuse the spelling) President now? As Ex Dane said yes Somaliland "was betrayed"...but so was the rest of Somalia. Baashi it may have been the leadership that failed, but it was the people of Somalia that stood by and let it fail, otherwise there would not be such anarchy in our homeland that there is today. Personally, I think that the scars run deep, a Greater Somalia can be achieved only when Souther Somalia finds peace and when we forget the qabiil mentality that many have. Until then let Puntland and Somaliland be as there are. However as Matkey said an Islamic run country with the Isalmic shariiya as law...I find it hard to believe we would fail. Allah (swt) knows best and what better way then living life as He stated?? Wasalaam Nicely put sis. Sorry to sound skeptical (spl) but the way things are going Somaliland will end up destrying itself. We need to get rid of the leaders we got today and replace them with people that are really passionate about building the country and stop this qabiil based bull. The UDUB v Kulmiye affair is getting out of hand now. I really had a lot of repect for both candidates but their true clours are surfacing now - power hungry morons (do excuse me).... I mean what is more important peace and stability in our country or who / qabiil of the president? I think Landers should concentrate in resolving their internal conflicts - it doesn't matter if others accept it or not. These ruthless odayaal need to go! That goes for every part of Somalia.
  20. Shaqsi Waryaaa istoob it oor I wil bii maad at yuu deee
  21. "A woman spends half her life trying to change a man, then she complains that he ain't the man she met" Chris Tucker There nice and sweet I personaly don't like the idea of changing some1. If your with a brother then he must have possesed some good qualities that attracted you to him to begin with. People should be allowed to have their lil flaws, it is what makes them human! if some1 did try to change me then I would really question how genuine their feelings 4 me were.
  22. ^^ it is raining here too. am feeling grey *yawns* At home, curled up in bed with my tweety watching eastenders with a carton of Haagan Dazes - parlenes and cream. >>>>>> bck 2 work! man i am so bored, bored, bored.  Northerner .. how comes ur so energetic. am feeling mash up after yesterday.
