I love Cumar Dhuule, The Mooge's, Saado Cali and Khadra Daahir, and Luul Jeylaani for her classic soulful tunes. But honestlt, I think most distiguished Somali artist are hectic, you can't really say one is better then all the rest. Right now am feeling Cumar Dhuules "Haasaawe" agtaaeyda markaad timaadee, ee aad ila hadal tidhaahdee hasaawaha ii bilowdo halkii bugtey baa bogsoonta _is there a sweet individual out there who can post the lyrics to this song for me .. pleeeeease, I would really apprciate it

That was a beautiful poem walaalo. I remember being in Jeddah with all my bags packed, so looking forward to going back to freedom and my family - when my hooyo told us we cant go because of war. I was more worried about being stuck in doors then the consequences. I haven't grasped what war meant till my sisters started telling me about their encounters and all the family members that have passed away. In Sha Allah, it'll work out in the end. p.s I agree with Baashe, people need to stop blaming tribes for what happened. I say get rid of the war criminals from Riyaale to Morgan, to Caydiid - and our people can begin to heal.

Dahabshiil HR apologises for the publishing blunder re: 1st of July

Originally posted by qoslaaye: CHOICE IS YOURS Sure is AJ, Bro. Dhiigshiil is a Somalilander, however Dahabshiil is a bussiness with branches across many parts of Somalia. They own their wealth to their consumers in Somalia, UK, USA and across the world. To say, that they are Somalilanders and should not care about pleasing their consumers (which I note contradicts their press release) is an error. I don't understand why Somalis have to politicise everything, I sure wouldn't stop shopping at H&M or Mangos because they fail to acknowledge the independence day of my country .... they don't and I dhoon keer - quality is what counts - However, since Somalis only understand regional suck-up (as it appears) ---- then perhaps it is in his best interest to acknowledge important dates for the locals. -

AalTO lol. Walaalo, why do you ask me for the time? and I don't do the fake number thing, I do the isgu aan kuu soo noqdee and disappear act, but you'd have to really bug me to get treated like that lol CBLF Hey, girl nice to have you posting again. You, know this nick does you no justice I would suggest something like Casanova for you Carbon based is a rather limited depicyion of The Cat Barwaaqo, Sweetie, I got tired of their wotless ways, I thought giving them pointers in the right direction would somewhat help them outt of the daze. Notice "huh" seems to be used as an alternative for a great deal words  Besides, I haven't told the commandments to them, so waa cadiyos

Me again, can I suggest that this be re-named relationships as that is the common issue discussed here. Also, since we are not a segregational society, I don't really see the point of a womens section. I feel quite happy posting in other forums and so do brothers and it is not as if the ladies of SOL have seperate issues to dicuss - In fact this forum seems to be frequented my by the boys then the ladies ... I don't mean to go on, but am I the only one bothered about having a womens section full of relationship questions .. women have answers to. may be i shud shut it

Originally posted by Mobb_Deep: Guys, this is a forum. Let the nomads discuss issues that concern them na'mean? Besides, every GOOD advice ya'all give, You are rewarded by Allah. Everyone has a question one day of the year. Add them up and you have a whole forum. I don't see the same people posting same questions over and over again. Everyday, we have a new fella posting a new question na'mean. So let them ask and explore. I agree, some people need a medium in which they can ask questions that they may shy away from in real life. i think it is quite useful to get feedback from well meaning Somalis as we share a common culture and moral system, what other options do they have but too go to gaalo facilitated forums that would give them the wrong imformation. As a muslim we have rights over each other in terms of good advice. I would say, that I find some of the topics here rather exhausted .. but I just ignor, no need to in dadka faka laga qabto. oh, by the way if SOL does decide to take up a professional counsellor - I'll be up for it Come on, ya'll know am perfect for the job

Salaaams All, Modesty sis, I that was a really good article. I couldn't agree with you more, with Islam we are blessed with far more then a religion but a system that advocates justice and all things cool for humans. If we only knew  Thank you! Rudy, Rudy, Rudy... where do I begine  "We need institutionalized reforms. They need to be official. Women need to be active participants in all the ministries and all the government sectors that deal with women and family law," Fitaihi said. ^^^^ are the principle being advocated in the article. I have to agree with you Rudy, Saudi Arabia needs to change their sexist and racist policies. They need return to the pure Islamic teaching and stop their cultural-Islam. Note, the difference here, the Saudi state practices cultural Islam and not Islam. Key word being culture, so when you criticise it has to be on the grounds of culture .. not Islam! u see we come and exchange ideas and that good! but do u know how what these ppl think about u? You can't generalise walaalo, I have some Saudi friends and they think very highly of Somalis and are very much against the House of Saudi regime. I mean the article you’ve posted is a prime example that the Saudi Arabia and its population is suffering from bad governance – not Islam! Again, you cannot judge a nation on the grounds of the policies by made by a few! ok! how would u feel if a women who is in the hospital with child birth is served with papers to leave cuz her husband just got layed off! it aint showing to me we share same faith! Sweetie, go to Somalia where the same happens on a daily basis. I guess, we can take this as a lesson of how societies deteriorate when the don't take heed of Allah's commands and law. did u ever ask this type of q's to your iimaam? or do u just towe the line? i do it seriously! i do and gave him a written letter! so far, he did not reply in written form but tells me that hes working on! that has been 6 months ago! i am patient man! Why should my local Imaam be held accountable for the actions of the Saudi regime? He is not the one making the laws in that state. So I would suggest that you rewrite your letter and send it to King Fahad or the Saudi sheikhs. I doubt you'll get a reply though. Better still, if your really serious about getting an answer contact your local Saudi Embassy. all i am saying nomads, why r we treated as 2nd class cousins in the Muslim world! word! Because, there is no Khilaafah, in the political arena, and it is not only Somalis (or Malis in your case) that are treated that way... There is no unity between the Muslim World, which is a crying shame and something that each and every Muslim needs to work on. You shouldn’t make the situation worse by harbouring hate for your fellow Muslims However, in the social arena walaalo no one treats us as second-class cousins. Just go to your local masjid and you'll find nothing but pure Islamic unity (in most cases). Try it and let us know how it goes, you also check out the bookstore and get a few books on Islamic law. They got some heavy stuff on how Islamic societies should be…!! Stay true

The galloping Ms Edna and her disparaging of Somalia.

Originally posted by Samurai Warrior: But should the quest for recognition come at the expense of other Somali regions including neighbouring and stable regions? No! It is not about the regions but what the pro-unity crew are doing. Puntland, Somaliland can function as an independent states.... but how is Somalia (refering to the ppl in the Kenya talks) going to unite Somalis? Through redicule and force.....I think not! In my opinion walaalo, as nice as it is .. unity of somali regions is not something that I see happening ... Unless all the men over 50 disappear mysteriously! -
