For the love of God, DON'T ALLOW YOUR HUSBANDS TO GO BACK TO SOMALIA ALONE!! Either accompany him or accompany him. Absolutely. Naah, for some it will never get old. How can it, when it is the apparent cause of every single social problem/issue within the community? I bet you if they could blame the current political mess in Somalia on "Westernised Somali women", they would in a heartbeat. Lol babes. It's all good though, I actually enjoy watching them getting all hot and bothered over nothing QacQaac Ameenah what is your answer based on sis, my answer was based on a fact. and historical stats, and also from our religion. From what I've see happening around me walaal. It is a fact that most Somalis living the west live on welfare, it is a fact that fathers are alleviated from their financial responsibility. And Islamicaly, isn't it a must that the men provide for both wives financially? And that he treats them equally? I didn't say the polygamy was forbidden in Islam and I didn't question its practice. What I did is question the validity of your lame a Somali remarries because Somali have become westernised line. I mean if you just said that he can because Allah gave him the right.. that’s fine. In honestly walaal, if a man is incapable of taking care of number one, how the hell is he going to handle the troublesome wife and another one? What makes you guys think that women in Somalia are prepared to put up with your lazy ways? Because, as it goes when you fail to send her passport and regular money – she won’t want you no more! When u say, for some of us it never gets old, do u really think, u so educated when u take the ideas from the west, and reject your husbands rights. it is no pt of talking from this pt anymore, coz it looks like u guys, are not seeing with your eyes. Waah, waah. Musiibo ayaa nahaysata. I think some1 is having problems with assertive women. I don't even recall Barwaqo saying that polygamy was wrong? Neither had we touched on the rights of the husband. Lakkad lol. I'm looking for no unhappy farax and I'm not justifying anything. I was just pointing out to the sisters that; if it wasn't for the willingness on the part of some women, the men would think twice before marrying another. I have my preferences and I'll make sure that I see to getting my way ... but if another woman is happy to share her husband, than who am I to complain? Flying still- The *****dome is our own enemy.. but at least we know it....you catch more flies with honey and if we treat them well, they'll treat us as we want to be treated

looooooooooool@ Sumari and Gediid (cawaandi). Cute exchange -
^^^loool waryaa. Get away from my af. Shaah bigey ah, oo macaan oo xawaashleh woukd do. QacQaac, Isn’t the 'Somali Women are Westernised' line is getting a bit old huuno? Most men that go to Somalia are old men who are married to very cultured old ladies. The only way they manage a second wife is because the government takes care of their wifes and children. So its very easy to get xabad yaroo indho xidhan in Burco. One must fulfil the rights of the first family before starting another. In all honesty, in most cases that doesn't happen.

The Queen finds her and tries to kill her with a poisoned apple. In the final scene she is revived by a kiss from Prince Charles, who turns up at her funeral after being dumped by Camilla. Akhas! I don't know whats worse, living with dirty Ali's or getting the kiss of life from the 'dhago bacayl' himself  lol@ Burcaawi Aliyet - that would be some character

Remember the the old joke: Men are like tiles you lay 'em down right the first time you can walk all over them. lol. Well said dearest. As the the saying goes.. dushiisa laga arkaa, ushiisa lagu tumaa! If a lady lets her husband get away with it and lets be honest in most cases they do. Than she has no one else to blame but herself. Furthermore, there are women in Somalia (and other countries) that arn't put off by a married man - in fact from what I've been hearing - it is the women that pursue the men in Somalia. So we can't entirely complain about the insensitivity of the xaajis - after all if you were a 50 year old man and was approached by a beautiful 20 year old woman - the last thing on your mind would be that nagging duq in London  I'm not defending the men here, just looking at things from their perspective. I'd advice you sisters to make sure your man knows where you stand on the issue and should he stray - stick to your guns instead of putting up with it and complaining about it..

Somalis have always put Islam last on their list. The integrity of the nation, the tribe, the man and dhaqan were always dearer to us than Allah's deen. This guy is just expressing in words what we've been doing for decades. One thing that annoys me is the fact that men think they can insult Islam via Women. Isn't discussing the opressed state of women without the consultation of women taken away theirright toexpression.. or does this geezer assume we'r unable? They need to find another subject because this one is a little played out

^^^ I agree wit hmost of what you've said except for the groups part! I think all Muslims that are following the Quran and the Sunnah should strive to unite and come to a common ground. Unity would come through practicing the deen, attending Islamic circles and working together to help our needy brothers/ sisters - we should stop deviding each other along tribal and nationalist lines.....

No! We only know that which Allah had revealed to us through the signs in creation and revelation. AlCilm - Knowledge is with Allah alone. I think anyone who states that they know the whole truth is in error and is taking one of the attributes of Allah. Secondly, humans are on earth for a limited period, their knowledge ofit being limited to the time andenvironment... and lets not forget the galaxies..... what was the question again?

Interesting topic. Girls, just remember our role models. Khadija, Aisha, Xafsa and all the saxaabiyaat. (RA) They weren't mere house wives, so I guess that made them mordern. For society (espcially an Islamic one) to function properly; it needs the full involvement of their men and women. How are we going to pregoress if we don't have female doctors, nurses, teachers and lecturers? Islamdoesnot forbid a sister from seeking education and pursuing a career. However, we have to be mindful as to the upbringing of our children and the impact our working hours may have on them. Raula, Sis,don't leave on behalf of one individual. There are many people here that appreciate your input Khayr Walaal, please refrain from personal attackes. Discuss the topic at hand and please stop patronising belitteling other nomads!

TRUTH-SHALL-SET-U-FREE: it is sexual and "raunchy".But it doesn't mean hearing those kind of lyrics make me want to go out and have sex with someone. But it does change your preception of sex. The common promotion of sex in the media does have an influence on people's preception of sex and sexuality. But anyhoot! I suppose what your trying to say is that her promoting safe sex (if thats her aim) might encourage her young fans to parctice it safe sex. Rememeber when Ronan Keating stated that he was a virgine, most of his fans decided to follow suite - if it suites Ronanan it must be cool, eh? Laakin, note how contradictory that seems? When public figures promote sex ala rounchy videos, they have no responsiblity on the messages they are sending. But, when the same people sing about the aids than we are to sit up and take note.. interesting! Talk about sending mixed messages    QUOTE] "Aid awarness" means people need to be careful and get tested on regular basis if they are sexually active. It means don't share needles with people you have no idea of their medical history. Yeah so africa knows they got aid but no one is talking and people infected are not telling, therefore it's spreading rapidly. And I am sure if Bono and Beyonce are going to have sex, they will definitely ask the test and use protection. So....are you telling me that the people in Africa are unaware of how HIV is contracted and what 'safety' measures they should follow? Health Promotion campaigns need time and planning and regulare intervention by professionals. What Africa needs are clinics where the people can go to to get advice, counseling and constant support - which needs money. Aids awareness is something that needs to be incrporated into the daily life of the people in africa .. through schools and the media - films, music videos etc... if people are going to be at all serious about preventing the rapid increase of the disease. But a stand alone concert, the imact of it will only last for us along as Beyonce is on stage .. than again, the guys might get too mesmerised by her beauty to take note Atleast they are doing something aka raising money and to me that's more important than their sexy public image maybe I've missed it but can you highlight where in the article is says that they are rasing funds? Raising awareness is what I've seen but I suppose that can be interpreted as raising funds by some....

This is quite amusing  Lakad, lol@ professionls and media responsibilities.. your such an idealist babes no such things exist in this world! Besides, the sentiments of this particulare editor aren't shared by other Sland papers (Slandtimes and Jamhuuriya). I guess he can say whatever.. certianly sets off dialogues in a forum like this..
