^^ It ain't even about her homosexuality- the fact that she is calling us to disobey Allah and pass individual judgement on His laws - should tell us that she isn't calling us to Islam but away from it...!! Baashe, LST and Darman Brothers Thank you for words of kindness and may allah guide us to his path.. Ameen!

Lets stone the gaalos aaah Waar dee suga. You can't just kill people There is a manner and a process that this law is applied. First and for most it has to be implemented in an Islamic state, where the shariciyah is the law. For those of you who forgot - Somalia is a 'democracy' (wannabe). The person (apostate) has to be taken to an Islamic court - where they are given advice and questioned about their conversion from Islam and given a chance to think their action over - and then if they refuse to come back to Islam 'after clear guidance have been given to them' and only then do you pass judgment on them. The judgment has to be given by an Islamic judge working in an Islamic court ---- I doubt that they have judges and courts in Somalia. And killing people in their sleep is not only cowardly - it is unIslamic and barbaric - where is the Islaam in that? I think we Somalis should be more concerned about implementing Islam in their life’s and our society and laws and policies - instead of killing helpless individuals. If we had Islam in Somalia - than perhaps ppl wouldn't reach a stage where they are running away from the deen of Allah!!!

Salaams, Bambina I do agree with you to a certain extent. Unfortuntaly, people have and do interpret Islaam to suite their own desires and many Muslims countries use it to oppress women and the poor through their cultural interpretations of Islaam. The problem here lies with the people and not Islaam! Similarly women are also guilty of misusing the Quraan in their feminist battles. In most cases it is against Islaam and not the cultural interpretations of it. Walaal, the fact that Irshad is a lesbian is manifestation of her stance with regards to the rules set out in the Quraan by Allah. Here we have a woman that is blatantly defying the rules of the Quraan... how can we be taking our deen from her? Yes, social ills do exist in the Muslim world, no one is denying that and we should challenge them - but do we need a lesbian to lead us? I have the feeling that the fact Irshad was feminist made you believe it was one of the reasons she might have critisized Islam ,unless Im wrong ,you could be a muslim feminist since you defend women's rights. Her feminism is the reason that she attacked Islaam. Not she only highlights issues concerning women and ifnores the racism and un-islmic practices paravelant in the muslim world. There is nothing wrong with fighting for the rights of women - however, we must observe the islamic ruling in doing so - and that is to demand our rights using the Quran and the Sunnah as tools. Feminism is a whole ideology of thinking that has several levels of interpretation and arguements - which often contradict the Quraan and the Sunnah. Bottom line it is a system of Kufr as its founders are kuffar and its thoughts are influenced by kaafir ideologies such as marxism, liberlism - soclism etc. Would you advocate for an Islamic democracy - nowing full well that democracy takes the rule away from Allah and assigns it to humans? These ideologies might sound nice on the surface but the underliying message in all of them is that they all negate the devinity of the Quraan - how then; can we claim to be a muslim feminist - One who Submits fully to the will of Allah - but fights for their rights using kaafir ideas... doesn't make a great deal of sense. But what I thought was very arrogant coming from you is,the fact that you emphasized in bold "english translation of the quran" as if people reading in arabic were better interpreters , let me tell you ;not all people are able to read arabic , plus people reading in arabic sometimes make mistakes when interpreting the quran. The Quraan was revealed in arabic - therefore to get it's true and clear meaning one needs to understand the arabic language. That is classic arabic - which is not used anymore. It doesn't mean to say that arabs are better Muslims than none arabs but that the English translation is someones English interpretation of the Quran. Where the arabic Quraan is exactly as it was delivered to the Messenger (saw), as was thought to the Companions. Anybody that has intrepreted a document will know that it is alomost impossible to do a word-for-word interpretation from one language to another. this is not to say that we should all learn arabic but that we would be in a better position if we knew it - and when one is claiming to be a scholar as is our Irshad - they must speak the language!! *Allah knows best*

^^This was the nastiest most evil murder case I've come across... and to think that he had the audacity to tell their parents 'that he hoped they found the girls' knowing what he did to them. Lakkad 'Harmless' and 'The British' don't even go together... waa jinka laiska naaro! I hope by Life .. they mean LIFE ... I'd prefer having him gassed or somthing -- evil, evil thing!

^^I keep telling you gal...I have special powers but you never beleive me Naah..but me came across a few articles in the past weeks too...everything I pick seems to be about araweelos  I'll disagree with ya, since doing otherwise would be boring. I think that although the women were very intstrumental in the peace process and still are the very back-bone of keeping the peace. politicaly its a whole different game. Most regions now organise special shocase events for international womens month ... why because it shows the international world what a progressive bunch of democrates somali men are...

Alxamdulilah.. they locked this monster away .. at last...! Huntley gets life for murdering girls By Matthew Jones LONDON (Reuters) - Ian Huntley has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering 10-year-old friends Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman minutes after they vanished from their homes in the village of Soham last year. "The next time I have to see him is like how we saw our daughters, and that's in a coffin," Jessica's father Leslie said. "Our life sentence started last August." After the verdict at London's Old Bailey, it emerged police checks on school caretaker Huntley when he applied for his job had failed to reveal numerous allegations of rape and underage sex. Home Secretary David Blunkett said an inquiry would be launched. "Real concerns exist about the way in which police intelligence about Huntley's past was handled," he said in a statement. "I am determined that we should uncover the full facts through this independent inquiry." For two weeks in 2002, media gave almost unparalleled attention to the hunt for Holly and Jessica. The discovery of their badly decomposed bodies in a ditch, where they had been stripped and burnt, horrified the public and drew worldwide sympathy. "You showed no mercy and you show no regret," Judge Alan Moses told Huntley. "Their lives brought joy to a community and their deaths brought grief. There are few worse crimes." Huntley's former fiancee Maxine Carr, 26, who lied to police by claiming she was with him at the time the girls were killed, was found not guilty of helping an offender but guilty of conspiring to pervert the course of justice. She was jailed for three-and-a-half years. Sentencing her, Judge Moses said: "If you had had the slightest true regard for those girls, you would have told the truth." Huntley had denied murdering the girls, claiming in evidence to the court that their deaths were accidental. He said Holly died after falling into the bath in his house and that Jessica died when he put his hand over her mouth to stop her screaming. "I accept I am responsible for the deaths of Holly and Jessica, but there is nothing I can do about it now. I sincerely wish there was," he had told the court. But prosecutor Richard Latham dismissed his explanation, telling jurors: "Ten-year-old girls don't just drop dead." During the trial, Latham suggested that the "whole business" was sexually motivated, with Huntley murdering the girls when "something went wrong". However there was no forensic evidence to back up the claims and acting Detective Chief Superintendent Chris Stevenson said only Huntley knew for sure what had happened. "Perhaps one day he might demonstrate some sliver of humanity and explain why he did what he did that terrible day," Stevenson said.

It's sad walaal. It is like losing a sister and the scariest part is knowing that she chose the wrong path and refuses to listen to others. Laakin siduu qacqaac yidhi Somaali badan oo diintii kabaxdey ayaa hada jira. Sababtuna waxaan is leeyahay in aany markii hore dad diinta ku adag - ama Allah yaqaan ahayn - hadii kale diintooda aduun uga may bixi lahayn. Sikastaba ha ahaatee, I hope inuu ilaahay soo hadayyo inagana ina hadeyoo. This only highlights the importance of understanding Islaam and entering into it completely. Theres a lesson to be learnt here walaal... Somaalinimo Muslim kaama dhigto ee aqoonta aad Ilaahay iyo diintiisa ka haysid ayaa Muslim kaa dhigeysa. Nabigu (saw) had iyo jeer wuxuu ku duceysan jirey ' yaa muqalib alquluub thabit qalbi calaa diikin' - 'oh changer of hearts, keep my heart firm upon your deen' - May Allah keep us, our families, friends and all Muslims on the right path...Amin. hope u get my soomaali

The following article maybe somewhat outdated as there has been great effort in integrating women into the politics of the Somali regions (SL,PL and Somalia). Perhaps that is a ploy to impress the UN and other agencies.... but what do you think? Let's Not Reinvent The Peace-making Wheel
