  1. ^^lol nayaaa. Stop the qeylo man. and also, remeber how I paid your crusty sujui behind so much of my shopping money for Sawahili classes? Why aren't you delivering   I've always wanted to learn Sawahili and this makes me even more determined to do so. Well done Africa, well done  Mojam, It was English... Makes it hard for the average Somalis- eh?
  2. Salaams, that was a very nice article CM. Jizaak Allah. I don't understand why certain brothers are on the defense here, the article wasn't promoting "role swapping". That happens to be a topic in its own right. If were are perfectly honest, there is no wrong / right way of sharing responsibilities. We all know, the assurance of a family survival is dependent on two factors; some1 has to bring in the money and the the other needs to take care of the household chores. This can be shared if the couple so wish. Or they can choose to half it in the traditional way. Different folks, diffrent strokes people. If you can't stand the idea of a working wife, there are many Muslim men who can. But most importantly, Allah has made it xalaal for a woman to work, who are you to make it xaraam? Why create drama where there isn’t a need for it. Coming back to the topic at hand... This article, was advising Muslim men to uphold the prophetic tradition of helping ones wife (this is based in scenario where the wive opts to saty at home). You either take it or you don’t.. and live with the consequences of your actions. Simple as! Sisters, whilst it’s true that under Islamic law most of us don’t have to do any housework (unless you’re a Maliki), it’s a choice many women including our mothers made out of love and care for their families. I don't know about yous lot, but I’m grateful for what my mother has given me. And In Sha Allah, I’d like to provide that same loving, caring environment (not to mention the beautiful food) for my kids.. Again no need to create drama out of nothing. However, I will make noise about this…. Who the hell said that fathers don’t have to take care of their children? That is really pathetic! If a guy can’t be bothered with diapers, feeding kids and playing, teaching and educating them, he needn’t bother having them. This has nothing to do with gender politics. As a community we really need to improve the relatioship between fathers and their children. Research shows that it has a detrimental effects on their development..man, just look at our boys   . Read the views of other Muslims
  3. ^^That story doesn't add up Mr. What did you do to my Eedo? I want the true version
  4. ^^Aha! I’ve heard good things about that place. I was even looking forward to deining there. Then, I was told that it is a Farax ting. *feels deprived of good Somali food* It's aight though, since it's that good. Can I negotiate a delivery of the goods from you Suj....
  5. Sujui, This operation is only carried out by cheated wives. Either, you start saving up for the $1,000,000,000.00 compensation or you can think of a lower sum. After all, since the defendant is non-other than your dear wife, the money will only come from your dear account. Or just be a good husband. The female definition of good husband not the farax's. The decision is yours… Gediid, lol. What you getting all smug for. I've just fowarded this to eedo Cibaado
  6. Looks like am going to have to represent Britain.... Blue Ocean (North London) Clean, beautiful food (and trust me, I'm fussy with my food). Nice atmosphere, friendly service... and very female friendly. Blue Ocean (West London) As above, but not as nice... well, it is in the West. Iman(North London) Very, very beautiful. Is slowly evolving into a Farah only venture... the rest are for booga caydha typ of faarax's...it's bad enough walking by... Xamdi T.dot = over rated. Dry bariis with fried drumsticks.. need i say more?
  7. ^^^They did it with Cherie Blair! Do you think they'll spare a respected scholar? I'm glad Tony Blair stuck to his guns with this one. However, as I think of it some more, Mr Blair is only doing it to avoid any negative press being directed at him. Smart move  As for Jewish lobbyists. Muslims are and have always been their dearest hobby. Recently, they tried to shut down Islamic societies of several London Universities. I suppose since universities are on a break, they have a great deal of time expand their witch hunt agenda… put a foot wrong and they are ready to tell Miss (Governments) on you. Anyways. What conference is he here to attend? I think this provides good publicity for the Sheikh, the MBA, the organisers of the conference and Muslims in general..... p.s I don’t agree with the Sheikhs Fatwa….we’ve discussed this before, many times.. .

    ^^^complete open-mindedness = mild schizophrenia Em, I think we'r in agreement there
  9. ^^lol! It’s aight huuno, thickness is good for the soul, or so they say. On the masar thing, to be fair starting to wear the hijab can be (practical) nightmare for sisters, more so for the fashionistas amongst us. So this is a starting point for many. It’s also endorsed by the fashion industry which is why it’s so popular with both Muslim / none-Muslim ladies. I do agree with yiu though. It’s pointless. I wore the ‘masar’ (I didn’t call it hijaab mind you) like that for a while and felt ****** ....
  10. Come on lads, this is the easy way out. Under the sharia a cheating spouse gets stoned. You’re lucky if all you get is the Bruce Lee. Ladies, brace yourselves, it seems like Araweelosim is back on the agenda. So get your dirac's on ladies. Tis calls for celebration. Men, tis time for reform Hums to ... Open Minded

B]what is open minded?[/b] The dictionary definition of open mindedness states; willing to consider ideas and opinions that are new or different to your own. With this in mind, I consider being open minded as an act of being tolerant of other views and taking them into account when dealing with others. However, this doesn't mean that I'm prepared to bypass my principles and believes to make others happy- I think that would be reveres narrow mindedness. who are the most open minded ppl in the world? Errrm, is this a trick question? Why, I'd say those who display open-mindedness are the most open-minded of people. I have a feeling you are looking for a specific nationality / ethnicity of people. I don't think that’s possible….. are university students open minder or not? Some are, some aren't. Now, your last comment / question is somewhat cofusing. WHY ARE WE SO OPEN MINDED TO WESTERN CULTURE ANYTHING IT IS. AND QUESTION AND BE HESITANT ABOUT OUR DEEN, WHEN SOME ONE TELLS US COME BACK TO UR DEEN PRACTICING IT Hmmm, I wouldn't call that being 'open minded' but it's more a case of assimilating / or choosing to replace your old culture / values / principles for another...but thats another topics me thinks...

  14. Queen Victoria suffered from a severe case of BB (bad breath). So, occasionally (when important officials came to honour the Palace) she would undergo a special surgery. The details of which are kept secret to this day. See as the first lady of Britain, she wanted to be the only one who had such a privilege. *looks defensively @ female nomads* well, he asked….. Now, how does that relate to modern day Xaliimos – well! That’s easy…. Ahem…errrm… excuse me.
  15. The phrase; don't worry I'm not Somali can be interpreted in so many ways. Laakin yous lot managed to translate it into something that only creats a rift between Somali men and women. Oh' well, it can be worse. just anotehr day in SOL, aye? As you were ....

  18. Mansha Allah, looks like you've had an eyeopner walaalo. Thank you so much for sharing... I disliked the attitudes of some Somalis (Who come from Europe and America) in the Airport of Hergisa & Berbera. Who think themselves as if they are the best of the best and the kings and queens of Somalia. Shouting and yelling at everyone and humiliating the airports' officers and clerks. As if paying some dollars to the government is the end of the world. I mean they pay taxes to the Western and American governments so whats the big deal if they pay few dollars to their country. Besides they keep nagging and blaming the Somalis inside Somalia for destroying the country and not builing it. I say to them, instead of blaming others, do your part of the job. Do something for the country and stop throwing the blames to each others. If we kept blaming each others nothing will change @ all. ^^^^Truely deep. I agree 100% Mansoor Nice pics...
  19. ^^^lol! you seem restrained walaal, are you feeling okay. Mansoor, glad that one woman doesn't take my shit too serious. What would be the point? It's shidh, you said it I'd rather use that energy on other things.. Og-girl, lol@ Well, me personaly have no battles to fight. Alxamdulilah. So a little annoyance from cyber geeks is a break from normality. I don't know about you ladies, but I seldom, encounter such ‘assertiveness’ in farax’s offline… wonder, wonder DA, Here's the polish gal...
  20. "You've got to stop beating up your women because you can't find a job, because you didn't want to get an education and now you're (earning) minimum wage," Cosby said. "You should have thought more of yourself when you were in high school, when you had an opportunity." Thank you Mr. Cosby! I ask the youth that I work with, if they want end up like the guys Mr. Cosby is talking about. They say no, but still carry on acting istubidh and how can they not? It is accepted by the adults responsible for them, promoted in the media. Black people including Somalis run away from their responsibilities too much. Life might be tough but you still have choices...!! P.S I still thinks Rudboy is cute...
  21. Salaams, Salafi-online. It might be less exhausting if you answered his question. Even if he annoys you in the process, you'd get the ajer for sharing knowledge Sahal, I didn’t say the manhaj of the Salaf (without an i) but that of Salafis (with an i) - there is a slight difference. Anyway. I won't bother with definitions. From what you wrote about Salafis (note:the i) you come across as some1 who dislikes them. You have every right to do so but we also have the right to make our own decisions on their dacwah without having you dictate whether we listen to Salafi-Online. *Numerous scholars have covered the validity and problems of using these terms and have set out the conditions for doing so… but that’s another topic…this thread is about associating with kafirs, I don't fancy hijacking it...
  22. This topic has taken a vey intresting turn Farax's doing very poor lion imitations. I think, the xaliimos are either too busy watching the cuties in the Euro or like me found mansoors effort amusing DA, Hmmmmmm. I understand where you coming from. Me, personaly have my Quraan and ahadith, so I don't need their philosophy. klip, klop, klip, klop.....*sighs* <---- need to polish my nails
