    An Idea

"Would it be a nice dream or a scary nightmare?" asks the senile old fool A bit of both me thinks. Eitherway, I'd be so bored of imagining such a country that I'd force myself to wake and enjoy life in the liberal (hypocritical) state that is the UK. Contradicting policies just keep me on my toes. Just to imagine David Blunkett praising the Muslims for their peaceful ways in a room full of cheering faggots fills I with with a desperate need for tea. It's not natural. I like conflicts me...
  4. ^^ He's telling the truth sis. After all it is called the 'fircowni'.
  5. Qaraar majiro sxb. Naag kun shirineyso minyaronimo ma sugayso... ma garatay?

U still is a playarad... wiilasha boofiska ka dhaaf nooh, before I qarxis your sujui behind...!! Boys don't be fooled by this gal.. kun bey shirisaa!!
  7. ^^^Pardon my ignorance, but don't we (men and women) gain extra rewards for praying with the jamaa'ah? " It is reported that the wife of `Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) used to attend the congregational prayer in the Mosque at Fajr and `Ishaa' prayers. It was said to her, "Why do you leave home, you know that `Umar does not like that and he feels ashamed (that you leave home at that time)?" She said, "So what prevents him from stopping Me?" The person said, "It is the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) 'Do not prevent the she-servants of Allah from Allah's Mosques.'" (Reported by Al-Bukhari) What os ypur take on the above hadith and numerous others? Secondly, is prayer the only purpose for attending the masjid? I thought that Islamically the masjid is considered the central educational / support institution for the Muslim community. Salaams
  8. These are strange times. May Allah Almighty guide as all...
  9. Waryaa Ina San libaax taabte, ma ciyaal dhaqankii baa ku wareeriyey? Waa runtaa liin dhanaantu aad ayeey u significant dhaqankeena ku tahay lol. Markaad yaga sharaxdid ila soo gaadh. Haye dheh
  10. Yasmine, I don't think it's more common with women, but it's the only vice they don’t get stigmatised for. My opinion on sheesha, it's a lovely way of spreading germs amongs friends. Saliva, anyone?
  11. ^^How dare you utter such irreverence to the honourable Riyaale.  On the real, maxaa cusub? Somalidan democracy aanay shaqo ku lahayn ayeey isku wareeriyeen. Man they should just go back to good old geed fadhiisi business. What the hell – as long as they are not killing people ha iska walaaqdaan their bull!
  12. I don't think all men go for skinny women. I have a few 'thick' fat friends and they don't seem to have problems with guys. In fact one of my girls is a man magnet... lol I feels sorry for her at times. She gets all sorts getting all up in her face cos she looks like a woman. I remember one time a brother told me why he like skinny girls... damn, men are such perves! and Hey fat women make tha best wives. How did you come to this conclusion?
  13. Somali, Somali? Is that some sort of a medical condition?
  14. Salaams, As far as this particulare article is concerned. I must agree with Viking and the brothers. The writer seems eager present Islam as anti-female religion. Although, I agree with some of her points. Her contempt for Islam is so transparent in her choice of words. “the door to their room flew open and husbands arrived to take their wives home" and "We were locked up like sheep and cows." Sensationalism at it's best..!! What the hell does she take us for? However, brothers. Treating sisters as second-class citizens in the masjids is inexcusable. There are many documented hadiths that show that the Prophet (saw) allowed women to enter the masajid for knowledge and prayer. On one occasion, He (saw) even shortened the fajr prayers to free mother for her crying baby. How far are we from his perfect Sunnah.. subxan Allah. There are Masjids that don’t even let sisters pray and some (as my local) that have the facilities. BUT only open it on major festivals. Personally, I think it’s more a case of cultural Islam . DA, There are some very good Mosques in London. London Central Mosque and Al-Tawheed (Leyton) and East Londonal all have two sections for sisters. One area they can eat and sit with their kids and another that is exclusive for prayer. Alxamdulilah. I think most new Masjids are taking this on board. We (me and women) Just have to be a bit more pro-active about this. The sister’s section in one of my local masjids got so unbearably over crowded that they complained to the Imaam. Eventually, the brothers gave up their area and prayed outside and in the sisters section. That’s the true spirit of Islam, Mansha Allah.
  15. No, Not all mosques anyway. Viking, Even Muslims have addressed this issue. Daud Warranby discussed it recently accusing certain Muslims of adopting the 'western' way treating woman as objects. And a few sisters and sheikhs have addressed this issue. We really need to go back the the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw)...!! ***I'm going home now. Will explain my reasons another time insha Allah.
  16. ^^Waar maxaa ku haya? I've already agreed with ya on principle. I said what I said in my last post because the sister was being harsh on some1 who clearly isn't here to defend herselve. Hijaab ain't the end it all of Islam, it's only a small part of it. What is wrong with my avater? It's the masri style khimar...see my neck is covered... I look very prettymodest methinks (new word)
  17. ^^^LOL! I hear you sister! Basically, Sheherazade is trying to put across the fact that beauty is not defined by skin complextion as many would have us believe. Being ligh-skinned doesn't automatically make you look beautiful. Black women should accept tehir God given complexions and stop exposing themselves to skin cancer through ther use of bleaching creams. Constructive enough?
  18. ^^awwwwwwwwww bless. Allah, fiicanaa inanku. But alas, you know what they say about first impressions. Everytime I look at you, i invision adoo iga cararay in my hour of need ... bal inakala kaxee huuno. I can't have you around me.. it's bad for my condition

It reminds me of Craig Davids 'I'm walking away' .... damn.. ama be hummming that all the way home now...
  20. Iam wondering if any of the (spinisters/single)ladies have ever thought about being the 2nd/3rd/4th wife to someone else's husband? The 'someone else's husband' part unnerves me. Besides, in my Queendom, there is only room for a Queen and her imported, obedient Prince lol@ Bee I worry about you girl. Just keep away from my relatives, eh! Oo you'll have me to answer to! Ruala, You little player, you!
  21. ^^yeah, but at least she has the decency to dress modestly sis. It seems to me that she is thinking about it and you never know she could be working on it.... None of us are perfect sis. Whilst the hijab is visible and so more people comment on it.... there are many other tenets of Islam that we need to work on - some such as Iman, Aqeedah and prayer proceed the correct form of hijab in their importance. P.S the general view of the Muslim man's dress has also been subjected to cultural interpretations. The most popular version being that of Asian / Arab customs...
  22. I can understand why people would come to SOL for insight into the Somali psych. This is by far the best forum for sharing opinions in a comprehensive and intellectual manner. And, no Admin didn’t pay me to say this Well done NOMADS I think you all deserve a pat in the back for making SOL what it is. We should continue to make sure that our little piece of the internet doesn’t turn into a personal battlefield of school kids. I'A As for Ahmed, I’m very glad that his Muslimness is not decisive factor for the British public. Alxamdulilah for that! I thought his spat of rebellion was both immature and inconsiderate for his teammates. I think he is more a rebel without cause. P.S Did anyone notice the subtle stereotypical assertions of the G reporter. you'd expect a bit more insight from Muslim Journalists
  23. Yes, fathers/husbands have to take care for their children and yes they should share the responsibilities with their wives. That much is agreed. Well ameen to that! Now that wasn't difficult was it. Agreeing with out digressing from the topic and creating scenarios and siuations that weren't even addressed by the article. As we do in every thread that deals with this issue. It's a good thing you got here fisrt Baashe Or we'd have some cassualties. As for the defensive part, I was thinking about the sarcastic remarks made by QacQaac in which he apparently assumes that Somali women (in the west) are competing with the brothers. We are not. So, chill! Ameenah, done!
  24. ^^Salaams sweet one! I think that topic, 'the dress code of the Muslim man' deserves a thread of it's own. These beardless, jeans wearing, six pac falshing farax's are in dire need of good naseeha.... *shakes head in utter disgust*
