First things first. Insha Allah when I have a child / whatvere. I'll start thinking about whether to send them back to baadiye or leave them with the hippy child minder across the road. If am suddenly blessed with huge amounts of money - I'd consider home educating them myself (what better way of using your education tha to teach yourlovelies ). Better still hire some private teacher and have them home educated under my watchfull eye - as if  I'm certain about one thing though; I'd have to be in a very, very desperate situation before using day-care centres. They just don't provide the type of care young children deserve at that tender age. Unless I'm in Sweden / Muslim country where I'd beg them to take my kids in. Sorry, sisters; I know this post isn't very productive at all but hey Sera, Sera.. whatever will be, will be. I just hope that I can babies. I deal with their predicament later.

I'm hearing these stories tooo damn often now of too many faraax's letting their wives 'OUT WORK THEM' and being 'PALE AND BLUE' at home. Why get married then, if u still gonna live as a BACHELOR?   Next thing your wife might say is , No SEX for you, I'm tooo tired for the next 6months straight lol then u got a REAL PROBLEM. Diradiraale foqal Diradiraale Your the type raga nagahooda ku dira. Your next task is to ask your wife for some cooking lessons in the weekend. Thats a lovely couple activity you can do. and don't listen to the anti-help-your wive crew we have in SOL. As for how do we do it. It's all to do with our biological makeup and refined upbringing by our mothers.

SON OF THE JACKAL SOMALIA- Togane Poem on A/Yusuf..
Blessed replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
^^^I agree with ya on that. He is rather funny. I prefer him to the closet qabiilists. Ya’ll know the type, who pretend not to know anything about tribalism but bash other qabiils when in their safe haven. Toogane is poking fun at Somalis as a whole - using the very characteristics they inflict on each other. This shows them all up as fools in a fool’s game. Ya’ll should read the 'funny fish' poem. Astaaqfirullah, I know it's xaraam to entertain such things but I can’t help but laugh. Silly man. Silly nation. As for Somalia's president. I dhoon keer, the first one is always a howler anyway. Getting a government is a huge achievement... Getting an active government will be a miracle. Regaining peace would be a dream come true. -
Truly, inspirational. May Allah rid us of dictatorship and the like. Ahmed Mohamed Ibrahim and Zamzam Abdi Aden, for instance, recalled Somaliland’s painful struggle against the arbitrary exercise of power, and reminded the public of the need for constant vigilance in order to remain free and to live in dignity. Isn't that the whole point to SL's existence? I can't stand the hypocrisy of the UDUB party. They constantly propagate tales of liberation whilst subjecting the people of SL to injustices such as this. I’m glad the likes of Hassan are challenging this. Otherwise we’d be going backwards… related article

looooooooooooooooooools. Nice one OG Girl. You sound to me a lot like that girl in the Kuwaiti Musasal that comes on Dubai. Don't remember the name. Can't be bothered with the rest. Khayr, Muwaaaaaah! We'll soon be having a 'buther and bother' a farax day. You can be our guest of honour. Juxa, (mac, mac sugah) Hey, I likes the boots dee. They'd go really well with my cat woman outfit

Very good poem, Salafi Nur, I'm a very huge fan of the de-schooling movement not only for it's child / learner focused approach to education. I also like it's flexibility and the fact that it's round the clock learning process. The only inhibitions are that some parents may not be capable teachers as they may not have the knowledge to pass on to tehir children or as the case is for many Somali kids; the parents may be illiterate. There is also the issue of money, it's very difficult to homeschool a child if the family has pressing financial difficulties to deal with. I would suggest a community based islamic schooling system instead. Public / State schools are really crap. I'd rather break my back working in factories - tahn to send my children to one of those self-esteem killing miseducating hell halls. We should look for alternatives for our children.... lovely topic!

^^I liked that hadith. Remember the response the Prophet (saw) gave abi Hurairah (ra): He (saw) said, "HE (shaytaan) is a liar, but has told the truth" .... In explaining this hadith and it's lesson the late Shiekh Utaimeen advised Muslims in the UK (Tel-Conference 1998) to take the truth from everyone and leave the falsehood. This was in response to a question with regards to wide spread fitnah between various Muslim groups in the UK. Similarley, One of the early scholars (not sure if was Ahmed or Malik) used advice his students not to take the rubbish from scholars. I think that’s a better attitude to adopt than to go around making rude remarks about other groups whose methodology you don't follow. This is not to be interpreted in the wrong way; we must correct wrong practices and preceptions of other Muslims. However, this is to be done with wisdom (based on Quran and Sunnah - if your a follower of sunnah) not childish rhetoric. Note: This is not an attacke on any particulare nomad.

Salaams, What I really loved about SOL in the early days was the emphasis on the Somali language and culture. This is a Somali forum and should reflect the language, culture and literature of the people that it caters for. I have been going to other sites for peotry, stories and to basically improve my Somali. This new forum would be a perfect platform for those with the same interests. Those of you who are content with being ignorant of such matters can always choose not to read issues realting the Somali language and culture. Admin May I suggest that it’s called something other than Af-Somali forum. That is too bland and specific. Perhaps something in the line of Suuganta iyo dhaqanka to go with the theme of Camel Milk Threads. And since we’re on the topic, it would be nice if the ‘Women Section’ was changed to Arraweelo’s Corner. So that certain boys will stop using it as a space to diss women. P.S I don't see anything wrong with those that post in Somali / Arabic or Sawahili in general topics. Everyone should be allowed to express his/herself in the most comforting way (as long as it doesn’t break the rule). Obviously, if you’re being addressed in the wrong language you can take the initiative of making the other aware. It’s that simple. Shiish! Certain liberties simply need to be respected.

^^ LOL! I Loved how he kicked his **** . And Saado Ali's role as the raaliyo wife. Anyhooot... I watching the Magaalo Joog Xumo clips and there is this particular one that had me in stitches. There are two farax's on a double date with two xaliimos. So, they decide to have a dance and the two Farax's start boasting about their respective xaliimos. They sang this dialogue: Farax1: (checking his mates xaliimo he nudges him and says): Teydaa Wanaagsan Farax 2: Teydaa ka wacan Farax 1: Teydaa Xariira ah Farax 2: Teydaa Xisaab ah Farax 1(stops, takes a long look at farax number 2's girl) : Taadu waan dhooree Farax 2 (proudly says) dhoorehaaban ka helaa They continue to do they're dhoore dance... keep your qoutes coming. Ma garateen

^^^lol@ God sent. Masakiin  Interesting analyses Safi, I don't have much time to go into this. But the state of our men is depressing. I really miss the days when our brothers exhumed raganimo in their every stride, every word and move. We now have a situation where the majority of our men are just wasting away. We have to many brother in jail, too many on drugs, too many with mental health conditions and too many wasting their days either staring at / cursing at their sisters. I'm wondering whether we need to change certain aspects of our dhaqan to ensure that our younger brothers don't follow the footsteps of their 'role models'. It's scary walahi! We need a solution and we need it fast....

^^^lol. It has always been the right of half-wits to point out that the king has no clothes. But the half-wit remains a half-wit, and the king remains a king. Or something like that! Even if she built a mosque, some one would have something to say about her. Besides, being a politician it’s your duty to accept critique of the minions….

Simply put. Somalia needs a very able government and president. Be it man or woman. What matters most is that he/she and the parliament strive to bring peace and stability to Somalia. It would make sense that they avoid putting the very fools the destroyed the country into office. I suppose that’s where the women are at an advantage. Sorry boys, but fact is; the men destroyed Somalia. Asha is cool. My vote would go to her but I doubt she'd be selected. A female president is clearly too advanced for the psych of our niman. That’s really not an issue though. Somalia needs to be stabilised, everything else secondary!

Salaams B. I have considered my self as a woman, ever since I've traded in my Reebok Classics for an amazing pair of high hilled shoes and I’ve started buying Pride Magazine of a regular basis. LOL On the real, womanhood / manhood or adulthood for me is defined more by the level responsibility you hold. When you become a person in your own right, start thinking for yourself (rather than follow your mates) and are in full charge of how your life is run. Which may vary depending on the individuals ability / other factors. Then you’re an adult: man / woman. I don’t think being married or having kids make females more of a woman. Even though dhaqan would say otherwise. I also disagree with the notion that adults are very different to children. You don’t suddenly get handed a new brain and personality traits on your leap from child to adult.

^^^^loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool^^^ Back to the topic or rather the responses. My oh My. We have an unfriendly crowd here, don't we? For me anyone who acknowledges the Somali name / flag has honoured it. In fact, I think it's pretty marvellous considering we are an unrecognised nation. There are Somalis who call themselves, Urub (Europe) Baarlin (Berlin) etc. And I don’t see the Europeans moaning and getting embarrassingly possessive over it. I have a few questions to those oppose these individuals; Why can't others use 'Somali' as a nick, name? Who gave you the right to it over others? My God this place is boring. are ppl still on their hols?

^^I hear you sister. As our Lakkad would say, siyaasaduna waa Manibulaashan (manipulation). Bloody, Farax's, bloody Mings. *feeling aggressive*

I should be grateful. I should be applauding you. Even call on all the male nomads to admire you. But something about the poem unnerves me. I can't put my finger on it just yet. I have a feeling it's to do with my Caraweeloness...I should be damned. * fears offending Nomad* Nice try

Double post..

^^Well put. DA, Don't just talk about it sis, BE about it. Instead of repeating the same argument over and over to SOLers, you could use that time to write to Majid Commitees, donate to your local masjid etc, etc. You'd be rewarded for it and hopefully get what you want... I'A. P.S The Sunnah compliments the Quran. We get laws and commands in the Quran. The Sunnah shows us how to implement it. Hadiths about Women in the Masjid would actually support your position.
