Somalia;905364 wrote: It's very sad that in 2012 you can get elected because you are said to be a Mujahid, but for what and how the hell is that relevant today? Muuse Biixi is from an irrelevant clan when it comes to high positions of power, maybe except getting a few cabinet positions, they are normally found in the fields plowing alongside Oromo. Siilaanyo is making a big mistake and will cause grievances, today Somaliland's party (clan) system is falling apart at its helm, who is responsible? I believe these field ploughers are number 1 responsible. Along with the reer baadiyo faction of Siilaanyo, they have alienated the lion of the east, the port owner of the north, the educated man of the west, I have never seen anything like this, I am horrified for Somaliland's future. God bless us all, and God bless America. Waryaa Alpha. Either kill this script ama yara habee. He's not at all convicing.

loool. Changed my mind in that case. My baby brother had grown up, so I was looking for another one to mold into a decent young man.. Iska joog and enjoy your lazy day, it's back to the rat race next week, sow maaha?

Women doing it for themselves. Fantastic! The targets of the Gulabi Gang's vigilantism are corrupt officials and violent husbands. The gang has stopped child marriages, forced police officers to register cases of domestic violence - by slapping them - and got roads built by dragging the official responsible from his desk on to the dust track in question. Nuune and Guzel, don't confuse us with fact and context. We like to intellectualise boolshit here.

I'm a bit obsessed about my hands being clean so I'm glad that it's haram, could you just imagine the germs and balaayo you can pick up from a man meel walba qacanta kula jira.*shrugs*. I rarely shake hands with women too.

I (and several other women) were subjected to crass misogyny today. oh..my..God. I could just go on a castration spree.

What do you want to know?

I understand what you're saying, but the r v dh divide is overplayed, many words such as fiiri, siidhi, heer become none sense words if replaced with the equivalent r/dh, in most cases, there is a different word altogether, i.e fiiri = eeg and in other cases the spelling remains the same, i.e kaar, saar.

The ma is tidhi / ma is tiri debate is none existant because Southerners don't use the phrase, the equivelant is perhaps; 'saas miyaa'. Ma is tiri in the North could be translated as 'will you wipe yourself' ...reer SL wey kula yaabeen, ma is tidhi @ alpha lol

^lol I'm glad that I dont scare you. Hopefully no more lool.

Chimera, Are you serious? "If we had the same respect, it wouldn't be in that state"????? Qabyaalad, intollerance and lack of respect for humanity has put Somalia in that state, not a handful of people who wish to explore Allah's beautiful earth.

^history can be fascinating to some, young man. Che, the 'Far East' is capitivating, all of it in fact. Its a shame that its so far away XX, It sounds good but Isareliska waan ka baqaa. Anyway, Al Sham is great for exploring Islamic / history of thr Abrahamic faiths, I will visit Jordan next, Inshaallah.
-
Che, which city fascinates you and why? XX, So how was it for you as an African, Muslim?
-
What a glorious city! XX do you really live there? I would love to visit one day. I think Damascus came close before the xayawaan Asad destroyed it.

lol@ Abtigiis. You must get over your mistrust of Juxa and myself, sey kaa tahay? It's a fact, SOL is read by many, including friends and family. I've personally reunited with a few old friends and lost relatives through it, it's always a pleasant surprise.. but I don't write salacious stories, so, errm, never mind. lol. I guess your friend found you through mutual university friends.

Illahay ha isu kiin barakeeyo, Coofle. 2012 was challenging for me; lots of hard work, uncertainity, little time for fun, it was so depressing at times but Alhamdulilah I had the support of my wonderful family and friends and the experience had lead me to reflect on my purpose. 2013 already looks better, the hard work of 2012 is already paying off in some respects and I'm looking forward to a new adventure with hubby and the kids, Inshaallah.
-
Haha, that must have been awkward. Rumour has it even Ngonges ayeeyo reads SOL. LoL SOL is liked by google so it gets a lot of traffic.
-
Maybe she reads SOL, you'd be surprised at the number of people in your life who read SOL occasionally.

You can also try dual language books, popular western / english books with a Somali translation, really good way of learning Somali for a qurbaawi child.

Happy birthday Abwaan and co.. Speaking of birthdays, I was going through my new (islamic diary) and realised that my hijri and gregorian birthday fall in the same week this year - first time this has happened since I've started paying attention. Only, according to the hijri calender, I'm turning a whole year older than my gregorian age. Heh!
