I am not sure but I think It is originated from an arabic word of "Lib" as in winning. i think the arabic literiture experts in here can confirm it for us. Cheers Hmmm, I think I'll research that but I'm sure the word Libinta has something to do with milk.
  2. Is this where we big up our regions..? Hahaha. Originally posted by chubacka: hahahah funny post...i was reading it to my mum and she said, "No, no he is jst talking about Hadraawi's Baladwayn song." Aye! You know, Hadrwaai got into trouble with one of his mates for that song, they had a little poetic tit for tat and in the end Hadraawi wrote this in which he basically declares that where ever he goes in Somaalia, he'd be sure to find a beauty to fall for..
  3. ^LOL.. I wonder if he remembered to book them for not observing the hijaab?
  4. LoL. I love Amin Amir. Bulls eye, every time.
  5. Originally posted by Cadaan: quote:Originally posted by *Blessed: Liibaan - Blessed Why, yes I am, thank you for pointing that out. Actually, I thought Liibaan meant "bless ing " like "barakah". Isn't it? You're welcome. That was a lose interpretation. Libaan is actually an invocation for blessings and can be used as such. For example, you can even say 'Libaan, walaal' to someone as a form of thank you / dua.
  6. ^He's not that far off the mark. Apart from the poor girls who get bullied into polygamy by their greedy brothers and fathers, you can't be a woman of many standards if your willing to settle for second position, possible break up a family or allow yourself to get used as a tool to piss off the first wive. They don't neccesarily belong to the categories mention ( divorcee, a widow, or even an older woman who has never married). Homeboy and those ladies deserve each other.
  7. ^Haha. Nice one. Zafir, Jacaylka iyo waalida. Lol. *Peace ya'll, I'm go and salaam the mall..
  8. ^Reer Burco hoostay ka jeceshahay... like the song says: Ninba wuxuu ku taama Ama hees ka tariyaa Halka lagu talaale Hawadiisu taale Serenity waxay dad ka sahasatay, Waa reer togdheero ... Zafir, it's Booring. Serenity, only in your mind, my love. Boorama, is nothing but two farms and three blocks. Hahaha.
  9. I've just had a chat with a guy that came back from home recently and he was telling me abour reer Bruco / Somalia in general. Loooooool. Ngonge, you should go. I'll baby sit on the condition that you take a camcorder and bring me back a video of all the action. You know what they call people who build back home? 'Nolol lagu dhaxle'. Only build for charity because you're not getting it back. p.s Don’t listen to Serenity, people. She’s feeling left out just have to bring up your little magaalo, eh?
  10. CL I'm just writing all the names that know, honey. I don't neccessarily like them all. Ibti. Samo means good. So Samatar (does good) Samowad is more or less the same.
  11. ^Hooyo left this morning, so I'm counting the days. *sniff* p.s We'll run ya'll out like daadkii xaaboole. I'm already thinking about revoking Ngonges membership..
  12. ^Hiya honey, how’s life treating ya? Ngonge Well, don’t! This is now a Burco appreciation thread.
  13. ^Hehehe. You silly Carab, dabar is sign of inner beauty in the Somali culture.

Khayre - Blessed War same - Bearer of good news, does cause problems. Hoodo - Fortunate Haboon - good at every thing she does Ilwaad - Good Looking Cibaado - One who is often busy with worship Cawo - Fortunate Barwaaqo - Prosperous Beerlula- Hearth throber (xaax) LOL Saxarla - One with no faults Saafi - Clean, Pure Bilan - First Born Filsan - More mature than those her age.
  15. ^Lol. *beep, beep* Faynuus, the attraction is more to do with our attitude, Faaraxs like naag cagaha dhulka u dhigta. Meanness is segsi.. Treat them to keep the keen. Tehehehee Ayuub, Burco has many SANE people and hotels, waryaa. ...And running water..And beautiful girls.. and you lost me as a ref.
  16. ^Those ayaat talk about the treatment of prisoners of war. Read them again, does the Quraan leave any room for doubt? I don't think so. Anyway, I don't like going around in circles...Salaams.
  17. ^Did our Messenger (saw) have the logistics to run prisons? I think, we need to go back to the seerah books. But first the Quraan: So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or let them ransom (themselves) until the war terminates 47: 4 If then any one transgresses the prohibition against you, transgress ye likewise against him. But fear Allah, and know that Allah is with those who restrain themselves 2: 194 And they, though they hold it dear, give sustenance to the indigent, the orphan and the captive. (Saying) we feed you for the sake of God alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks 76:8-9 The ruling is clear. These brothers risk losing the support of the wider Ummah, make Muslims lok like savages and earn danbi when they have an opportunity gain jannah for thier struggles...
  18. It's not about the soldiers per se, it's about waving around The Book of Allah, invoking the Name of Allah, calling your struggle a jihaad and then going against the teachings of The Book of Allah and the Commands of Allah. Get, it? They were POWs, according to our religion they should have been treated with respect. Just because people exceed the boundaries of war against you, does not mean that you can stoop as low! I abhor the actions of the TFG against innocent civilians, I understand their anger and hurt is deeper than mine and I appreciate that those brothers are not thinking with a clear mind, and I expect we’re all on the same boat here… but what excuse do we have to go against the commands of Allah.
  19. ^LOL. Hahaha. Yeah. I was actually looking for a cute Somali name...
  20. ^LOL. What's wrong with Sareedo. I know a Sareedo. Okay, I've more... You know waht would be cool, Adam. If we collected all the names with their meanings... Heh? Busaad Batuulo (??) Milgo Maan Deeq Magool Caydaruus Maaweel, for boys.
