    Yaa?

I feel greatly Blessed by Allah, my life is and has been pretty fabulous, Alhamdulilah. As for wanting more, I believe that the bounties and Rahmah of My Lord are endless and would be grateful for more blessings, be they the tiny little things that we don’t even consider, to the material possessions we enjoy or having that spiritual high. I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting the good of the world, in fact didn’t our Messenger (saw) teach us a duaa through which we seek the good of the world and aakhira?
  10. What are you researching? Anyway, for hadith and Quraan, this website should be on everyones bookmarks. It's amazing Masha Allah.

    Advice needed

Only the artistically challenged need an excuse / event to put on henna...
  14. Mashaa Allah, these are lovely walaal. I love the second one. Thank you so much for sharing.. Qaar kale ma haysaa?
  15. LOL@ Ngonge. I love your dads nick too. It rocks.
  16. ^That's good point, Ibtisaam. You should see the amount of insults and 'waano' none FGM families get. Back home and according to many islaamo in the west, you're 'ruining' your daughters if you don't mutilate them. The psychological blackmail is the worst aspect. Many people actually believe that it’s a religious practice. I had a friend who went back when she was 17 and agreed to the ‘sune cut’ because everybody told her that she was nijaas socota. Back to topic, the author also forgot to mention the derogatory way that women are presented in common proverbs and poetry. However, on a more positive note, I do agree that in comparison to many ‘eastern c, cultures’, Somali females enjoy a rare status in society. Sometimes, I speak to my Arabic and Asian friends and I’m like, Alhamdulilah for making me Somali.
  17. Thanks for posting this marvel of a story TT. It's just what a girl needs to read on a Friday, morning. I remember one of the first Islamic lectures that I've watched as a teenager was hers. She amazed me then, inspires me now. It's such a blessing to have someone like her as a role model and representative of Islam. Masha Allah. May the rewards of Allah be plenty for her..
  18. Siphoningdilemma, Walaalo, there's more to Islam than merely staying within the bounds of the Sharia. When Allah ta'aala tells us that marriage is one of His blessings and signs and that He has created mates for us, believe it and act upon it. I know with all the negative press that marriage gets, it's easy to get derailed and confused but it's often people's shortcoimings, negative attitudes and unrealistic expectations that make it a prison. That doesn't have to be your reality. I recommend self evaluation, a change in strategy and much duaa as the Messenger (saw) said, 'tie your camel and place your trust in Allah'.
  19. Originally posted by Pujah: quote:for the LADIES, if your father was to present to you a noble, god fearing brother, would you decline? Of course you would decline - no Somali woman worth her salt would accept to be given away. LOL. It don't matter how he comes your way, gabdho. Gidigiinba, waa laidin soo dooni oo la idin bixin. It's just how it is.
