^You've lost me there, bro. The problem is not the different interpretations but enforcing it on people?? What is ' it '? The sharia or the wrong interpretations of it???

Trust you to find humour in this madness, NG. I don't care for who or what they were. I just hope the sick dogs rot in hell!

The Sharia is currently misapplied by many Muslim states, unfortunately. It’s the duty of the people of knowledge to monitor and critique how these states apply it. Our duty as lay people is to learn about our deen. SubhanAllah, some people have been mouthing off and saying some dangerous things in response to the tragedy that happened in Kismaayo. It’s best to take ones questions to reliable books and scholars, instead of disrespecting Allah. The trouble with us Somalis, is that we’re all sheikhs and judges and unfortunately some are in a position to apply their interpretations on the helpless. It's scary!

Since reading this topic, I keep going back over my memory of umrah two years ago. SubhanAllah, my soul went to a place it has never been. I can't explain it, words will not do it justice. And it was only umrah. I imagine the hajj experience will be far more profound. I'm just craving that feeling, missing it like my hooyo. I say, go if you have the opportunity. Who knows, if you'll live to see next hajj or the one after? Hoesntly, you'll be glad that you did. Maasha Allah @ Shaken and Che.

Once you really start practicing Islam, you'll find that you have nothing in common with your gaalo (and even some Muslim) friends, anyway. So, you end up drifting apart in different directions. I've only one remaining close none-Muslim friend and her sister is revert. Figures, eh? I'm hoping she reverts too, I'A. She's a lovely girl with more Islam in her than a lot of Muslims I know. Just watched Raaghe's Muslims in America where these concepts are very relevant.

On the issue of the one who volunteers to be punished: Wasn't there a sahaabiya who did the same? The Messenger (SAW) said the repentance of all the Medinites would not equal hers. This case does sound a bit odd though, I'm really confused. Better, I didn't comment on it.

Xiin, First she's gonna take Eedo hajj and then build her a villa in Burco. Then she can get married. Haday rabto. Man oh man @ Ibtisaam. It sucks congratulating you over the net. Ah..we'll do something criminal (but halaal) in June. I'A. Well done, malab. Hijab: Why and How to Cover according to Authentic Sources!
Blessed replied to Abu-Salman's topic in General
Assalaamu Alaikum, Just to clarify, the majority opinion and as can be seen in numerous ahadith the niqaab is not fard. Although, if you are on that spiritual level, you'll be getting more rewards for wearing it but it is NOT an obligation (except in a few specific circumstances). It's interesting that Sheikh Naasir-ud-Deen Al Abaani (Rahimahullah) is quoted in that article, when he has written this article on the subject which contradicts the view making niqaab an obligation. Here's another article which examines the dalils for niqaab: http://www.muhajabah.com/niqabdalils.htm -
Nephtys, are you going hajj, darling? The essence of hajj is repentance which has conditions... p.s I'll post someting on niqaab in that other thread...

^^I love commentisfree, it's brings all sorts of characters together. Thanks for the link.

Interesting article from a supporter of the Imaam-et with flowers in her hair. What thinks you? Instead of tempering the verses of the Qur'an with good judgment, some men use them as a vehicle for controlling women. The fact that Islam allows room for this type of behaviour is a problem, yes, but rampant sexism is more a product of patriarchal ideology than religion itself. Men can practice Islam and treat women as equals – the two are not mutually exclusive. edit: Sorry.. Click on Nuune's link.

Originally posted by Al-Mu'minah: Is this article about sister Aminah Waduud? Isn't she the woman who leads mixed congregational prayers? Allahu musta'an! No, sister. It's Amina Assilimi. A different breed all together.. You should look up her talks, she's fantastic.

Ameen and thanks, walaal. I hope all is well with you in 'the cape'. Will pass on the salaams, Insha Allah.

^Go for it sis, only a retard would laugh at someone who wants to learn the Quraan. Knowing tajweed is actually an obligation. I started tajweed classes last week, hopefully that should fix my bad habits before I pass them on to the little ones. Haneeeeeeeeeeeefah, my honey. *hugs* J’A for posting the link. His recitation is making me feel so tranquil right now and it’s clear. Masha Allah, Tabbarak Allah. Illahay ha u siyaadeeyo oo barakeeyo.

Masha Allah, ma Ramadaantiiba? Allow saa ku daa! I'm off now. Peace.
