  1. uuUh… Looks like there’s a quote war here... Gediid, you said... “I would like to believe that but Somalis are the people who occupy the areas that are clearily defined Somali territory, anyone else who looks like a Somali, walks like a Somali or even sneezes like a Somali isn't Somali if they are from outside that territory.” This is not entirely true as facts show. Although it’s true that not everyone that looks like a Somali or walks like a Somali is not a Somali, overwhelming amounts of information have proven that everyone who sneezes like a Somali IS IN FACT A SOMALl. All over the world, isolated people who’s Somaliness was in question were proven to be Somali by way of examining there sneezing. An this has been the case throughout history, if you recall in 1875, and the also way back in 1655, and most recently in 1983 when the origins of the Yulrit peoples of southern India was in question, their sneezing showed that they were Somali. The researcher Sir Edward Longshanks wrote in his monumental “History of the peoples of eastern Africa”, that “the main characteristic which distinguishes the Mohamaden Somalians from the other peoples of the region is their sneezing” This is confirmed by the ancient Somali saying, which roughly translates as “You will know a Somali by his sneeze.” I think this wholly proves that anyone who sneezes like a Somali is a Somalia, even if they reside outside the Somali territory. As we have seen, it’s not the territory, the walk, or the look that makes one Somali, but verily it is the sneeze. I hope this clarifies this issue for you Gediid

  4. I think nicks can really be misleading... For example, I often can't think of nicks to use in chatroom and I pick random words off my screen... Like right now here are some words that appear on my screen: 'AddReply', Farxiyo, launch, Italic, General, Nomads, Signature, Graemlins... piece, home... These things have nothing to do with each other or with me, but I could very well use any one of them as a nick and it wouldn't really make a difference. The best way to ascertain ones character is by observing ones actions... in this case posts. In conclusion muhahahahahaha mojam means Maxamed Jamac?
  5. "Nairobi - Fresh from a crash course in modern living, black Somalis fleeing war and prejudice leave this week for new lives in the United States, many swearing they will never go back to Africa." BLACK SOMALI'S????? What are the rest of us. And the part about swearing never to go back to Africa, am sure many of us here did the same when they first got out.
  6. It's just another way to get to the US... I know of a number of people that paid there way onto the list of "bantu" somalis... Next thing you know they will come up with another good of "oppressed" somali's that must be moved out, and after that another leen. It's all good with me. I love it.

  10. Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The Last Hour would not come until a person would pass by a grave of another person and he would say: I wish it had been my abode. All this just goes to show you.

  12. {4:97. When angels take the souls of those who die in sin against their souls, they say: "In what (plight) Were ye?" They reply: "Weak and oppressed Were we in the earth." They say: "Was not the earth of Allah spacious enough for you to move yourselves away (From evil)?" Such men will find their abode in Hell,- What an evil refuge! - 4:98. Except those who are (really) weak and oppressed - men, women, and children - who have no means in their power, nor (a guide-post) to their way. 4:99. For these, there is hope that Allah will forgive: For Allah doth blot out (sins) and forgive again and again. 4:100. He who forsakes his home in the cause of Allah, finds in the earth Many a refuge, wide and spacious: Should he die as a refugee from home for Allah and His Messenger, His reward becomes due and sure with Allah. And Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. } For many of people in the West, being a ‘refugee’ is only a temporary thing. There are many people that have moved to Muslim countries, and some that have even returned to Somalia. As soon as someone living in the US gets his or her passport or green card for that matter. Even with an I-94 you can get a traveler’s document, after that, you’re free to go around many parts of the world. Including returning to Somali if you like. But having travel documents is'nt the only thing needed for travel, money is always an issue, and finding a place to live, not everyone is able to do this. But it seems for many people, being a refugee has become a state of mind and way of life. Even after they are able to move around the world, they choice to life a harsh life under the care of the disbeliveers. They want to settle in the West, at the same time longing to return to Somali for the wrong reasons, and they take no action in trying to return. In the end they are at loss. Yet still others are powerless to change their situation, may Allah help them. What we should be doing is making personal investments such as getting an education and practicing our religion. That way, we will be able to leave the west and move somewhere we can actually settle down. We can't just wait for a government to pop up in Somail, but there are many other Muslim countries that we can settle in that have the things Somali is lacking (namely the rule of law). The main thing is, it's xaraam to settle among the disbelievers. But Somali isn't the only place to settle; there are many other Muslim countries that one can settle in, provided he or she has the means. Being in the West gives us an opportunity to gain those means (by investing in education and useful skills) and after that Inshallah, get going.
  13. "...WHY IN THE WORLD DO WE LOOK AT THESE PPL LIKE THIS" Sorry to burst your bobble little girl, but there is no we here.
  14. Wow, wow... the author of Nasb ur-Raayah was from somali. Tell us more. What other well known scholars were from Somali?

  16. "But who does more wrong than one who invents a lie against Allah, to lead astray men without knowledge? For Allah guides not people who do wrong."(6:144) "And yet among men there are such as dispute about Allah, without knowledge, and follow every evil one obstinate in rebellion!" (22:3) "Yet there are among men those who dispute about Allah, without knowledge and without guidance, and without a Scripture of Enlightenment!" (31:20) And this is what philosophers do. They talk about God and the nature of human life and argue among themselves, and in the process lead people astray. If you want to know about the nature of truth, you will find it in the Quran and the Sunnah.
  17. From: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/2535343.stm University wins rainmaking grant Project would only work in areas that can produce clouds A rainmaking machine that could help the Middle East peace process is being developed in Scotland. The Establishment is almost always wrong, Professor Stephen Salter, Edinburgh University Professor Stephen Salter of Edinburgh University has been awarded a government grant worth over £100,000 to come up with a device to create rain clouds. His dream is to develop a 60-metre turbine which sucks water out of the sea and creates water vapour which could be sprayed out into the atmosphere. The rainmaker is described as looking like a giant egg-beater and would be placed on catamarans off the coast of desert land. Answering the sceptics It would only work in places that are not totally dry. Areas that have clouds but not enough to produce rain would be ideal, Professor Salter told the Times newspaper. The professor believes his invention could help the Middle East peace process because such a machine would ease Israel's dependence on the West Bank for its water supply. He is aware that his pipe dream will draw plenty of scepticism but remains defiant. "They said you couldn't make ships out of steel. They said Marconi's radio waves couldn't be broadcast beyond the horizon. The Establishment is almost always wrong," he told the Times. ============================================= Do you think its possible?
