  1. Lol, im the opposite of you, waxaa laigu salaamaa "waad caatoowdey ee maxaa kuugu dhacay". I´ve always been thin, but now aad ayaan u caatoobey Im trying to gain weight and believe me I find it soooo difficult, lol im not kidding you. I used to walk alot, 30 mins to uni, and 30 back. There were no buses to my route and i didnt have a license) God i dont miss university at all. So all i can tell you is walk walk walk. Also another thing, im a stressful person and I have had a very stresful life before, and im soo used to walking very fast.(im trying to change that now) I actually found out by walking fast, you are tricking your body into dipping into your fat stores for energy. And also im a slow eater and ive been told not eat slowly coz you get full very quick.(so im trying to change that too.) It is commonly understood that if you are a slow eater, that you will feel full (satiated) before eating as much as if you eat faster. Most diet programs add this as helpful advice: "eat slowly; set your fork down between bites." Eat ONLY when you are hungry. There are some that substitute food with emotional problem, if you are sad, happy or bored, don´t turn to food. Replace that with something else that you like. Dont feel like you have to deprive yourself from sweets(macmacaan),have it now and then. I hope this helps.
  2. Babies can tell good people from bad ones From the age of six months, babies can judge people's characters, distinguishing between 'good' and 'bad' people, new research suggests. Scientists at Yale University have found that babies have the ability to make moral and social judgements by working out whether someone has a helpful or unhelpful character. The results suggest that this ability is instinctive and not learned from parents. A series of experiments revealed that babies aged between six and ten months old preferred 'helping' characters to anti-social ones. The research involved testing the reaction of babies to "good", "neutral" and "bad" wooden toys. In almost all cases the infants preferred toys that were helpful to others over those which either hindered their progress or "stood back" and did nothing. Kiley Hamlin, lead author of the study, commented: "Our results suggest that infants have a pretty advanced evaluating system that doesn't need much outside input to develop. It develops at a very early age, by 6 months." Prior studies showed that young infants prefer more attractive people, however this is the first report to suggest that babies as young as six-months-old already have developed mechanisms to judge social intentions. The authors said: "This supports the view that our ability to evaluate people is a biological adaptation - universal and unlearned." http://www.practicalparenting.co.uk/news/Babies_can_tell_good_people_from_bad_ones_article_163191.html I know someone that is not good with babies, they cry the moment he picks them up, it never occured to me that he was evil..looool

  4. Swedish women lose fight for topless bathing http://www.thelocal.se/9263/20071130/
  5. Two female students are demanding their rights after they were banned from bathing topless at a swimming pool in Uppsala. If girls are forced to wear bikinis, boys should be too , one of the women told The Local. Ragnhild Karlsson, 22, and her friend Kristin Karlsson, 21, live on the same corridor in a student residence in the university town. On September 5th they took a trip to the Fyrishov leisure complex, where they decided to hop in for a swim without their bikini tops. Though the pool was full of swimmers, a female lifeguard eventually caught sight of the bare-breasted women and reached for her whistle. "We had been swimming for a while without anybody paying us any attention when the guards called us to the side and told us to either put on a top or leave. So we left," Ragnhild Karlsson told The Local. On Wednesday, the two women sent a letter to the Equal Opportunities Ombudsman explaining that they saw no reason for men an women to be treated differently. If anything, a bikini top could be accused of drawing unnecessary attention to a woman's breasts. "It's a question of equality. I think it's a problem that women are sexualized in this way. If women are forced to wear a top, shouldn't men also have to?" The two friends said they were surprised when they were approached by the lifeguards. "We thought it was against the law to treat people differently," said Ragnhild Karlsson, who is studying to be a speech therapist. Her friend Kristin aims to practice occupational therapy. Staff at the pool later referred to studies showing that crimes of a sexual nature were particularly common in swimming pool environments. "Surely women should be allowed to decide for themselves whether they need protecting. And is it not strange that women should somehow bear responsibily for sex crimes carried out by men," said Ragnhild Karlsson. But a spokeswoman for the leisure complex stood by their decision not to allow the women to bathe topless. "Swimming pools generally require men to wear swimming trunks and women to wear either bikinis or one piece swimsuits," Inger Grotteblad told The Local. "There are three reasons for this. First, there is a security aspect, then there is a hygiene issue and finally there is what we call 'prevailing manners and customs'. It is above all this last point which is important here," she added. She also pointed out that the swimming complex always needed to bear in mind the preferences of its guests. "We have a lot of visitors here, ranging from families with children to the elderly. We also have people from different ethnic backgrounds. We want all of them to be able to enjoy themselves when they come here. "This issue is new to us and we welcome the debate. It is important that everybody gets to voice their opinion, from families with children to naturists, older people and Muslim women. We have asked our governing body to look into this and hope they will come back to us with recommendations," said Grotteblad. http://www.thelocal.se/8557/20070920/

  9. Turkey: Fatwa allows Muslims to pray just three times a day Ankara, 10 Oct. (AKI) - Turkish Muslims will be allowed to pray only three times a day from Wednesday instead of the usual five - without fear of committing a sin. A member of the scientific council of Istanbul University, Muhammad Nour Dughan, has issued a controversial fatwa or religious edict cutting Islamic prayer requirements from five to three times a day. The move has provoked widespread debate as well as opposition from orthodox imams or Muslim clerics. Sharia law allows for the possibility of praying three times a day in case of sickness or travel. The fatwa extends this option allowing Muslims to pray three times a day, especially when they are heavily committed with work or personal issues. http://www.adnkronos.com/AKI/English/Religion/?id=1.0.1409142549 Cajiib,Next time they´ll say fast the first 15 days of ramadaan, the other 15 days are sunnah, acuudibillah

    Halal or Haram?

a sisterly advice We shouldnt give our own fatwas, even the hadiths which look straightforward have a great inner meaning and needs a lot of knowledge of the quran and the deen to be interpreted. that is the reason why many of our greatest scholars have dedicated their entire lives and only then have become good muhaddiseen. A few of us have limited knowledge of the deen and could take what is read on this forum to be correct. so its our duty to share and educate others with the most correct and authentic knowledge of the deen. Question: When can a young man make ijtihaad and issue fatwas? Some of the young people, when they become religious, indulge in examining and discussing the evidence (daleel) and speak about the rulings on events and issues that happen, in terms of what is halaal and what is haraam. They give their opinions on the rulings of fiqh on some new matters that have arisen in modern times. Answer: Praise be to Allaah. There are conditions attached to making ijtihaad. Not every individual has the right to issue fatwas and make pronouncements on matters, unless he has knowledge and is qualified. He has to be able to know the daleel; the wording and apparent meaning of the texts; what is saheeh (sound) and what is da’eef (weak); al-naasikh wa’l-mansookh (what abrogates what); wording and interpretation of texts; what is specific in application and what is general; what is stated in brief and what is mentioned in detail. This needs lengthy experience and practice, knowledge of the various branches of fiqh and where to look for information; knowledge of the opinions of the ‘ulamaa’ and fuqahaa’, and memorization or knowledge of the texts. Undoubtedly issuing fatwas without being qualified to do so is a grave sin, and means that one is speaking without knowledge. Allaah has warned us against that, when He said (interpretation of the meaning): “And say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely: “This is lawful and this is forbidden,” so as to invent lies against Allaah. Verily, those who invent lies against Allaah will never prosper.” [al-Nahl 16:116]. In a hadeeth: “Whoever was given a fatwaa with no proof, his sin will go back on the one who gave him the fatwaa.” (Saheeh; narrated by Imaam Ahmad, 2/321). The seeker of knowledge should not hasten to issue fatwas or to speak on an issue until he has found the source and daleel for what he is saying, and who has spoken about it previously. If he is not qualified to deal with the matter, he should pass it on to someone who is better able to deal with it, and he should limit himself to that which he knows, and continue learning and studying until he is qualified to make ijtihaad. And Allaah is the Guide to the Straight Path. islamqa Al-Lu’lu’ al-Makeen min Fataawaa al-Shaykh ibn Jibreen *********************************************************************************** {Forbidden for you are dead meat, blood,...} [soorah 5, Aayah 4]. If a beginner who is studying the Qur.aan and has no knowledge of hadeeth is asked regarding dead fish, he will immediately bring this aayah as proof to clearly forbid it since it prohibits dead meat. But were he to look into the ahaadeeth, he would know that the Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) excepted two types of animals, fish and locusts, from this prohibition, so he could rule accordingly. Briefly, the student must learn these two fundamental branches of learning to help to understand the Qur.aan and the Sunnah as correctly as possible. 13. Jazaakallahu kheyr We are on the 21th day of Ramadan. This is the time more than ever to increase increase increase in worship. Its time to make as much tawbah as possible. Its time to offer as many sunnahs as possible. Its time to leave off minutes and hours on the phone with family or friends. Its time to increase in dhikr. Its time to read more Quran and reflect. This is the time for it! We don't truly no if it will be our last Ramadan. We don't know for sure if next Ramadan we will be dwelling underneath the earth instead of on top of the earth. Allah has opened his gates wide for Jannah! Allah is forgiving sins! Just think if your favorite clothing store, or shoe store, or furniture store made an announcement " For Ten Days we are giving away everything FREE FREE FREE! " We would rush, we would spend hours waiting in line to get in, We would bring our children our husbands and our wives, we would go to the store everyday and SHOP TIL WE DROP! So Insha Allah lets all PRAY TIL WE DROP !!! This is even better this is our souls for eternity at stake! This is savour from the Jahanam, this access to the Jannah. The goal will be what no eye has seen and no ear has heard! This is Allahs mercy. This is seeing Allahs face our Creator our Rabb! Endless happiness. Eternal Bliss. So when we are in salaah and making dua. Lets cry for it! Lets plead for the jannah. Lets have deep remorse for every sin we have done. Lets think back way back to high school to college think about all of the sins for all of these years and ask for forgivness. Allah is asking us who wants forgiveness and he will forgive insha Allah. Ask Allah to keep us strong on the siratul mustaqeem. Ask Allah to increase us in the desire for the akhira.

The guy and the girl perhaps did have intercourse previously so that would earn them 100 whips each in public. Perhaps you were around peeking the window of the his/her house where the intercourse took place, or perhaps you were at close proximity of that apartment building and you watched a woman get raped by a man and did nothing. Perhaps, you are rationalizing your own inner demons by saying that if you took up drinking, you would lose control and if a female companion of yours does the same actions as you while you are at each other's presence, she might fall victim and you would indeed rape her because she put herself in that position, yet you won't be responsible, unless caught on video Surveillance, then GOd help you from the authorities, perhaps thats the case for you REDDDDDDDDDDDDDDish. However such action wouldnt' be taken nor would that guy be blamed for all the crimanality unless full prove that she wanted no part of this and she was forced to. Does anyone on their right mind need anymore prove than that video, Starting with the first officer at the scene, to the crime technician, to the prosecutor, or the judge and finally the fair amount of pple who watched that video prove than the Surveillance video showing a man forcing his way into a woman and a woman resisting him. It can't get any more clear cut than this. Only your likes, who fantasy about punishing women who drink or those that are sexually active with men and need to be taught a lesson, such as rape, beat-down,torture would need to see alot more than the video and even then, you would find another thing to blame on the female. If you really wanted to know if this woman meant "no" and that it wasn't the "influence of the alcohol" as you put it, then perhaps you should attempt to find and contact her. Perhaps, ask to have a sit-down, one On One and get answers to your questions, and if she is so much as gives an attitude, maybe its time you took upon yourself to rape and torture her and before leaving the scene, please, please get rid off all possible incriminating evidence, perhaps thats a genius plan, soo maaaha, perhaps boy? The current ruling was as a result of the vidoe which was caught by the hall cameras. However there wasn't any other evidence. Same as I said above still stands. His actions could have been as a result of being drunk and her actions could also have been because she was under the influence and other wise wouldnt' resist him. All these have to be taken into account. But it seems more than likey they were having intercourse hence being alone and drunk together. All in all, he wouldn't have raped her if he wasn't drunk out of his mind and she wouldn't have said no if she was sober, and in return, they would have enjoyed one hell of a sex rampage on that night in question and all will be good in the eyes of SOL's own "student offender". As for the people who watched behind closed doors. I dont' have anythign to say to them. They might have feared as result of the screaming. This is U.S and everyone buufis ayuu iska qabaa naftiisana way ubaqaan. In other words, if you were a resident of that building and you heard a woman's cry, you wouldn't go out of your way to help, but will take the time to go behind your pc/laptop and talk nonsense onto 6 straight pages full of garbage? War waxaan kudhahay, isku noqo, oo maskax isku yeel and ka fikir waxa afkaaga oo biijada lef kasoo baxaayo. Afkaaga caano lagu qabay.
  18. War nin yahoow, meel aad kasocotid la garan. As i said qalad qalad laguma saxo. No one deserves to be raped. Cajiib, so you mean if one ends up in prison, and accidentely drops the soap, and gets raped,is it his fault that he firstly put himself in that situation? maybe he was asking for it?
  19. Let me get this straight, gebedhii beerta gasho is deserved to be raped? Walaal let me give you the benefit of the doubt, maybe you dont know what rape can do to a woman. No WOMAN DESERVES TO BE RAPED. whether she is beer gal or or not. Walaahi it is really sad what you have posted, and i have never come accross a post that made me feel this way before. I was one day walking from school and just getting to my house, a guy murmured some words and was looking at me , and as i came closer to him, the guy grabbed me and started pulling me to some trees. I pulled my self from him and ran. I was soo shocked, and i was trembling.. even though nothing happened, i can never imagine how a woman being forced on can feel. I have two close friends, and one was raped and the other one was nearly raped, and on top of that soomaalida started rumours. What i am trying to say is, if a somali girl is raped, most of the people find a way to blame her. That is what we have to stop doing. When my friend was nearly raped people started saying "inanta maseeyr baa haaye, ninka ayeey been kasheegee." And when my other friend was raped by her parents friends, her aunt now says says that she was promiscuous. How can a seven year old can be promiscuous. Let us come back to this sister, yes she was drinking, so you mean it is her fault that she got raped? Qalad, qalad laguma saxo, if she was in a situation like that, he didnt have a right to rape her.
