xiin, revenue is needed to keep this beast up and running, at the end of the day someone has got to pay for for the storage space and bandwidth. But the point is how? search the web for somali sites a myriad of pages offering tha latest whiz bangs come up. However most are just tacky and few can compete with sol in terms of a community of users. This is important because the basic of the site is the community, it aims to build it and maitain it, so question is how do we best enable that. Jibis, Like u i dont dont tent to tart myself out to other forums. and i would appreciate a music and photos and i think they shoulbe available. But my point is the design looks too cluttered. Too much info and too many services are placed there. This makes it look like a pointer to the community rather than the community. While the appeal of the site is the community not the resources. --- and yes that smile again... i'm certain it will double the number of users in a month

dude just looked at the demo: critical comments: its too dense. I see what your trying to do, but your loosing a major part of what makes SOL work, which is its simplicity. I think u're right in incorperating features to take advantage of new technologies, but that shouldnt be the purpose. The new site looks more like a portal offering various services than a forum. With this your going towards the organisation rather than the community. My humble view is make the frontpage simple. cut down on the graphics and flash. Put those in the relevent sections - revenue will follows users not the other way round. lazy comments: its pretty

just a couple of observations mr jibis if could you lend me those reading glasses when your done, it would be much appreciated. also please let me know which parrallel world meaning you took from the phrase: Every time the wives hear that Al-Saieri has found a new prospect, they begin wondering who is next to go. v1. Every time the wives hear that Al-Saieri has found a new prospect, they throw a party and draw staws for the lucky hussy that gets out. v2. Every time the wives hear that Al-Saieri has found a new prospect, they lay a bed of roses for the new lucky so and so v3. Every time the wives hear that Al-Saieri has found a new prospect, ohh look, aint that a pretty picture v4. Every time the wives hear that Al-Saieri has found a new prospect, they ----bebbebb beeebb ebbe [i'm afraid that some inter-stelar static has clouded the rest of this paragraph ]. that aside since there is no interview with the lucky / unlucky ladiez, i guess we lack sufficient evidence to judge the reactions of these women! Now his breeding methods aside, what actually gets me is the issue with 13yr old, this is entirely different. To be honest with you a woman saying some 13 yr olds are mature is shocking for me. For as long as i've known throwing the phrase 'some x yr olds are mature for ..' [replacing x with pretty much any age under 19] at a woman had been cruising for a beating. but clearly i've been misguided. but really instead of praying for katrina tongue to be held, u should really be asking for impotence to keep that mans member in his pants when it comes 13yr olds

Why does A Muslim have to Apologize or be held accountable for...

^ dude, have just realised you live in the us, i'm sorry i wont bring this relativism crap into it again. You lot are lucky they dont road test grampy's 45 on you. -
lexy, u and u-baahne are right that my sensabilities have been corrupted and calling him a nonce did not take into account any of the values or norms that influence this mans life. I dont think he's doing anything unsual. Many men and women have had +50 girl/boy friends, sexual partners and blah. He's just legitimising getting laid by getting hitched to them first. But my corrupted sense of morality asks, would you be happy with your 13 yrd old daughter/sister or any girl for that matter getting shackled to this guy to rejuvenate himself with? And if not why not condem it?

^ yeah its genius . for me tho' it has to be Up the elevator of your future I've been shafted I've been humming that work all morning with everybody giving me these odd sideways glances.

So on the aftermath the blackday that was v-day, when a number of us have had our hearts torn from their ventricles and out of our chests, then thrown to the hyenas for ritualistic desecration (jonny, dude, i know you know what i mean you know!) . To comfort each other, I propose we share our fav. heartbreak songs. I'll start with my current tear jerker : Johnny Cash's: FLUSHED FROM THE BATHROOM OF YOUR HEART From the back door of your life you swept me out dear In the breadline of your dreams I lost my place At the table of your love I got the brush off At the Indianapolis of your heart I lost the race I've been washed down the sink of your conscience In the theatre of your love I lost my part And now you say you've got me out of your conscience I've been flushed from the bathroom of your heart In the garbage disposal of your dreams I've been ground up dear On the river of your plans I'm up the creek Up the elevator of your future I've been shafted On the calendar of your events I'm last week I've been washed down the sink of your conscience In the theatre of your love I lost my part And now you say you've got me out of your conscience I've been flushed from the bathroom of your heart

aah i'm still in stiches ========== A woman in Spain is celebrating the end of an eight-year battle to be taken off the country's death register after officials insisted she died in 1992. Maria Antonia Calvo, 43, from Malaga said that, despite presenting herself to a judge, the Civil Registry of Barcelona refused to amend its records. The court's decision to "declare her alive" paves the way for her to marry. Ms Calvo alleges her brother registered her as dead over an inheritance dispute and said she is planning legal action. She said her father died without leaving a will. Under Spanish law, any inheritance goes to the next in line but they must have siblings' permission to use it. Ms Calvo told the BBC she believes her brother registered her as dead 14 years ago so that he could gain free access to the inheritance. She was made aware of the situation eight years ago when she received a court summons from Barcelona to verify her status, she added. She immediately presented herself to a judge to prove that she was alive but the civil registry in Barcelona would not change the paperwork. Lawyers refused to represent her saying there was no precedent. Ms Calvo said the situation would probably still not have been resolved if the media had not taken an interest in her case. She said her fiance Antonio Guzman had urged her to speak to the press after he learned of her situation. "When he asked me to marry him, I said: 'I love you a lot but I can't marry you, I can't because I'm dead'," she said. "When I showed him my birth certificate with the stamp across it which officially showed I was dead he couldn't believe it, and it was thanks to him that I launched a cry for help to the media." "Being dead" made life difficult, according to Ms Calvo. "I still paid tax and rent so in that case there was no problem being dead. "Other than that I wasn't able to get married, I wouldn't have been able to draw a pension and my younger son, who is four, was an orphan because his mother was dead," she said. Ms Calvo said the worst part of the situation was living with the fear that the authorities could take her two children from her. She is now legally "alive" and is planning to marry Mr Guzman in Spring. source

^lypy i think there's a bit more to it and kharys point is valid. However this goes to the heart of the concept of muslim society/people, you have to ask to what extent do muslims want to be related to as an 'umma'. And the sword cuts both ways. You want to speak/stand for the muslims when they are harassed, then you must be willing to speak for their ills. Otherwise u risk being called a hypocrite -
liibaaann ^lllllllloooooooooooooolllllllllllll maan what have these degenerates reduced you to, and where did you hire the white guy? I want one for me now.

Why in everything that is good in the world should anybody have to deal cofee withdrawl? You people are going too far. LEAVE COFFEE OUT OF THIS, damned degenerates!

Castro, she sounds lovely. Would mind lending her to me for a few weeks, you know on a 'try before you buy' type of basis. I think it will really enable us 'lost in singledom's' to see what we are missing out on. Thank you atheer, you really are very kind and generous.

petition yes, Not somali my backside, come now admit that you were born under a tree on the 1st Jan. 19xy in lass-caanood, and were misfortunate enough to be whisped out of the arms of your loving mother by a rogue wind which took you to some forsaken tundra, where you were subsequently adopted, and raised good and faithfull. However the debouchary of the somali genes could not be kept down by a decent and moral western nurture, and in time grew stronger within you until it burst forth in the clamity that we now observe.
