Does jini qabto Jendayi know that Eritrea grows a nice brand of Muus talyani!! wait she gets a taste of it!! she will kiss their feet Eritrea rebuffs US allegation of terrorism Sat. August 18, 2007 04:31 pm.- (SomaliNet) Eritrea responded angrily on Saturday to a threat by U.S. Assistant Secretary Jendayi Frazer to place it on a list of state sponsors of terrorism. Frazer said on Friday the United States was considering putting the Red Sea state on the terrorist list for allegedly funnelling weapons and aid to Somali Islamist insurgents battling the American and Ethiopian-backed interim government. "We have tried our best to act with restraint with Eritrea," Frazer told reporters in Washington. "We cannot tolerate... their support for terror activity, particularly in Somalia." Asmara said the accusation was baseless. "We are very, very grateful to Ms. Jendayi Frazer (for) exposing her ill-will towards the Eritrean people," Information Minister Ali Abdu said icily. A U.N. monitoring group last month accused Eritrea of sending large quantities of weapons to Islamists in Somalia -- a charge Asmara denies. Violence has flared up in Somalia this month, with regular gun battles between allied Somali-Ethiopian troops and the Islamist fighters they ousted from Mogadishu in December with U.S. backing. Hundreds of Somalis have been killed and hundreds of thousands have fled their homes in what some analysts say is a proxy war between Ethiopia and Eritrea. If put on the list, the country, one of the world's poorest, would join Iran, North Korea and Syria in suffering losses of U.S. aid, U.S. opposition to International Monetary Fund and World Bank loans and a ban on arms sales. Frazer said Eritrea could avoid this if it stopped its activities in Somalia. Underlining the sour relations between the former allies -- Eritrea was one of only four African countries to back the U.S.-led Iraq invasion -- Washington said this week it was shutting down an Eritrean consulate in Oakland, California. Washington complained that Asmara kept inspecting its diplomatic pouches and refusing visas for U.S. diplomats. Eritrea says Washington has shirked its duty to force Ethiopia, the top U.S. counter-terrorism ally in the region, to comply with an international ruling marking its shared border with Ethiopia following a 1998-2000 border war. Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki is expected to make an official statement to journalists about relations with the United States late on Sunday.

Allah Yarxamo. Sat. August 18, 2007 07:33 pm.- Breaking News (SomaliNet) A prominent traditional elder was shot dead in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia on Saturday night by unknown gunmen. Moalim Haaruun Moalim Yusuf, 60s, was killed in front of his home in Yaqshid district, north of the capital after the maqrib prayer, according to the local witnesses. “Three unidentified gun men shot my husband with bullets, one of the bullets hit on his head,” said Madino Guled Mohamed, the wife of the slain elder. “I don’t know he was killed but I can assure you that my husband was involving in the reconciliation congress in Mogadishu,” It is not yet clear who was behind the latest killing of the elder. Earlier, the suspected Islamist-led insurgent groups vowed that they kill anyone who participated what they called ‘the conspiracy conference’ in Mogadishu. Moalim Harun was well-respected traditional elder from the prime minister's clan from Mogadishu.

August 13th, 2007 Dr. M. Omar Hashi Everything seems to just not work for Meles Zinawi. His western supported Tigrayan occupation-genocide over Somalia, while earning him quick loot in Mogadishu and Southern Somalia is now on a whole fast falling apart into its inherent fiscal and inevitable military demise. At home (if occupied Addis Ababa can be construed as one) is not going well either. With the Western bosses’ forced conciliation with the resurgent Christian Amhara political opposition groups (the only opposition the West allows to “officially” exist in Ethiopia and perhaps a possible replacement to him) and the always unremitting widespread resistance of the Muslim-Majority population of Ethiopia against him, passive or active, makes the Zinawi dictatorship straining at the seams and overstretched in its occupation over Somalia. Yet, it is not the endemic revolts in Ethiopia proper, but rather the desperation and failure of Zinawi and his Western bosses in making the occupation-genocide specifically over Mogadishu self-sustainable, credible and become profitable which is what drove his henchmen to this vicious slaying of the two HornAfrik journalists— Ali Iman Sharmarke and Mahad Ahmed Elmi . On the one hand the Zinawi regime has done all it can to loot and destroy Mogadishu and its people and by extension *Somali statehood* with its proxy ****** “Puntland” militia and using “TFG” Ali Gheedi cover, yet things are not moving at all in the direction of “normalization” of the occupation; actually the opposite is occurring with every scheme and ploy of the occupation flattering and miserably failing—the latest being the farcical so called “ tribal reconciliation conference” run by the imbecile warlord criminal Ali Mahdi. Add to this the frustration and indecision of EU and US masters in finding a way to coerce the occupied resistant ****** clans in legitimating and normalizing the Ethiopian occupation and genocide over them— which is perhaps the overriding and prime reason for the targeted killings of the HornAfrik journalists. These vicious Tigre orchestrated dual slayings of HornAfrik media co-founder Ali Iman Sharmarke— who was supposedly killed by a landmine while traveling in Mogadishu from a funeral of another murdered colleague of his, Mahad Ahmed Elmi gunned down outside his home— is a direct result of three interlocking incongruent factors of this Western backed Ethiopian occupation and genocide in Somalia, namely: 1) Destroying Mogadishu’s Economy and Pacifying ****** Resistance; 2) Laying the foundations for Tribal War and 3) Failure of Using Mercenary ****** warlords against Resistance. Mogadishu’s Economy and Pacifying ****** Resistance The “linchpin” of the current Western backed re-colonization of Somalia and benchmark for it to succeed through the Zinawi invasion- occupation-genocidal order is for Mogadishu’s economy to be irrevocably destroyed and then all human and material resources therein— “localized trade”— forthright be geared towards sustaining the Ethiopian occupiers rule. This is the win-win optimal situation for the Western Neo-Colonial powers and their trusty Ethiopian mercenary in Somalia, namely, to live off the blood and labors of the people forever. The reason for this is simple: Mogadishu economic destruction through bombing and looting means eventual economic dependence of Somalis (economic forces know no tribe lines) and ****** on the UN and its Ethiopian foreign-backed domination. Stable indigenous livelihoods are incubators of prosperity, a people’s cultural and national freedom rests on their capacity to feed, clothe and build on their own and this is something the neo-Colonial powers are striving to deny the citizens of Mogadishu from enjoying. Particularly, one of the aims of the intentional killings, pillage and ceaseless terror campaigns by the Ethiopian occupation forces and their proxy “TFG” tribal ****** militia is meant to stave off, intimidate and pre-empt the ****** clans and other Somalis from continuing towards a culture of national liberation. This reminds me of a Speech in 1959 given by Franz Fanon contained in his book titled Reciprocal Bases of National Culture and the Fight for Freedom, in which he stated that the conscious and organised undertaking by a colonised people to re-establish the sovereignty of that nation constitutes the most complete and obvious cultural manifestation that exists (Reproduced from Wretched of the Earth (1959) publ. Pelican. Speech to Congress of Black African Writers.http://www.marxists.org/subject/africa/fanon/national-culture.htm). The only proactive and organized national “Somali culture” which the Colonial and neo-Colonialist forces have fought vigorously in the Horn Africa since 1884 has been the independent, nomadic inspired entrepreneurship and Islam-based cultural rejection of the Somalis to Western dependence. It these two aspects of “Somali national culture” (if the term can be used as such, since it does not apply fully to all Somalis) which threaten the Colonialists — in an otherwise degenerative culture largely defined by tribal parasitism, consumption of Khat; tribal malice/hatred and chronic mercenary-ism. It is pertinent to note that both entrepreneurship and independent thinking came together in the Islamic Courts Union movement; hence, reason why it was a “pressing and imminent threat” for the West’s decades’ long pro-Ethiopian, anarchy oriented “status-quo” policy towards Somalia- this even minus the actual economic and social accomplishments of the ICU administration. Moreover, for the ****** masses to be fully subdued and co-opted into the permanent “re-colonization” of Somalia under Ethiopia they must be made dependent on the very occupation they are fighting against for their livelihoods, this is what I refer to as “normalization of occupation” or make the occupation work and this is what exists in Ethiopia proper vis-à-vis the subjugated nationalities. That is to say, the occupied people must identify their survival directly to that of their Ethiopian occupiers whims, this is where the “historical use of food (and the withholding of it) as a weapon by the ruling Habasha regimes of Ethiopia to control dissident groups comes into play as detailed by Robert D. Kaplan his book Surrender or Starve (2003). Right now Somali dependence on the Occupation for survival is not the case, there is a genocide taking place although it is being attempted to be made so it is not even a question. Indeed, the occupation-genocide is ongoing brutality rarely escapes international attention in the daily murders and crimes against humanity inflicted against innocents in Mogadishu as was witnessed today in the malicious killing of Sharmarke and Elmi. Nonetheless, despite the concerted violence, the Ethiopian Occupation is a foreign aberration and anomaly hoisted on top of the people of Somalia and maintained by the US, EU. When ( not if) the Ethiopian occupation forces leave today it will have no structural effects whatsoever on the ****** but giving freedom to all the people to build their lives and infrastructure up again. The Occupation has no natural “organic” footing in Somalia or specifically the Mogadishu people’s lives and society; they have lived and prospered independently of Ethiopian domination on their own merit and hard work for centuries. Of course, the same cannot be said for the ****** tribal militias led by Abdullahi Yusuf or the mercenary warlords used for the re-colonization and destruction of Mogadishu whose survival is basically dependent upon the continuation and remote success of the Occupation over the people and land ( though they have no say today whatsoever on the trajectory of that same occupation they helped bring) such as Ali Gheedi, Ali Mahdi, Mohamed Dhee’re, Mahamud Gacmadheere, Abdi Qeybdid, Mohamed Qanyare, Osman Aato, Hussien Aydiid etc ( See Failure of Using Mercenary ****** warlords against Resistance further down) . Laying the foundations for Tribal War Though, today what exists is a foreign driven conflict predicated on the West’s preferred status quo of statelessness under Ethiopian Occupation, the best one could have hoped for in resolving Somalia was that through the collective efforts of sane leaders who despite their vested clannish animosities towards one another, would at least join symbolically in a common front which was the ICU movement in bringing back tangible national statehood that was occurring under them. The fact remains that the ICU achievements and the pre-invasion conditions were the best chance for permanent and doable peace in Somalia. This is because Somali tribes still had agency and despite Ethiopian interference whether or not to join the drive for Somali Statehood (ICU) was a choice only Somalis could make to refuse or join. The purposeful courting of all Somalis tribes in the ICU and the subsequent across-the board inclination in particular by the ****** clan to actively assist and take part in the Ethiopian invasion and occupation and ongoing genocide in Mogadishu as preferable to the reign of justice and resumption of Statehood under what to them was giving credit to “******” inspired solution stands for itself. Be that as it may, those pre-invasion conditions of tribal agency and sovereignty are dead. Today, the Ethiopian dictator Zinawi himself is calling the shoots and is himself betting on instigating an all out tribal war so as to prolong his untenable presence through his trusty ******-******tyn militias current looting and pillage of Mogadishu and its environs. Zinawi like all colonizers knows that his stay in Somalia ( already cracking) will not be permanent, irrespective of the current massive political and limited financial support provided from European Union, United Nations, Arab League and of course American military support in subsidization. Therefore, for the future inevitability the Zinawi regime must ensure that even in the extent that its occupation which is already falling apart expires, Somalia proper will still be embroiled in a continuous war condition; how best then to guarantee such an outcome by facilitating a tribal war through his ****** proxies ongoing pillage in Mogadishu. Zinawi is a master of manipulation and treachery. He knows very well that the only thing which is enabling the current ******-******tyn pillage of Mogadishu is his Occupation and he makes it a point in hiding under Abdullahi Yusuf cowardly rhetoric of somehow it all being about “getting even” with the ******. In fact, this is very much a calculated move on the Tigre dictator’s part on two levels in fulfilling the long-term “exit strategy” when he does leave. On the one hand Zinawi knows that through Abdullahi Yusuf he has already planted the seeds for an inevitable Tribal War in Somalia irrespective of his staying or not and secondly, a Tribal War which he directly controls be it its beginning and trajectory at any time he wants. The ******-******tyn is completely and directly dependent upon cover of Ethiopian military terrorism for their crimes against ****** civilians and property in Mogadishu and elsewhere, therefore they are completely beholden to the vagaries of the Tigre occupiers. So in this respect Zinawi has the ultimate leverage he needs over them. Whereas for the ****** he has his incentive which will cost him nothing and involve only his staying “ military neutral” in Somalia wars today that is an incentive which will cost him nothing for exchange he will get everything- the optimum choice which is normalization of permanent occupation in Mogadishu and by extension Somalia free of costs to him and more importantly provides the artificial “credibility” for which his Western backers can use for international public relations mirage, giving substance to the oft-repeated hallowed Western line of “ See, no more [somali] resistance they’re really all the same country, really it is not a genocide and they’re now just fine with being part of Addis Ababa sphere”. Failure of Using Mercenary ****** warlords against Resistance The failure of the Neo-Colonial powers in using their ****** warlords against the drive for liberation has a long track record; in fact, it all comes together in current Ethiopian Occupation. Ali Mahdi and Ali Gheedi, though not the first of their kind to work vigorously for the neo-colonial destruction of ****** economic and political interests can be said to be the best model which the neo colonial powers desire for all Somali leadership minus their inept imbecility. They would like very much today to find those who have a “face” in the ****** people who resist but who nevertheless are willing to sell themselves to the colonization. So far, the use of their warlords against the people has been ineffective so far as it was debilitating and slowing the eventual freedom in Islamic Courts revolution in 2006 and today it is even a bigger failure. There can be no doubt that the ****** warlords for 15 years have been supported politically, financially and military by Western neo-Colonialist powers EU, USA and UN to hold back ****** people and by extension peace and statehood, not only has the Central Intelligence Agency admitted to have supported the warlords covertly in their lawless criminality against the people’s dreams, but the UN has through its purposeful behind-the-scenes directly cultivated these weak and corrupt leaders to the fore at the expense of genuine ****** leaders of the people. Luckily, for posterity the ICU unmasked the whole charade for what it was: neo-Colonial push of using the weak, uneducated and corrupt thugs in keeping the nation stateless. Now they have Meles Zinawi and the occupation-genocide, which is also a failure at keeping the nation stateless. The only reputation warlords like Musa Suudi and Bashiir Raage hold among the people is fighting the peace, development and freedom, destroying all that was good and support all that was cancerous including Meles Zinawi and his “tfg” poodles; the same goes for the disgraced warlords Osman Aaato, his cousins Husein Aydiid and Abdi Qaybdid, not to mention the other criminal Gacmadheere: these are truly scum below any dignity who supported the genocide and invasion of Mogadishu and who consistently fought every single act of peace and development for the people of Mogadishu and today do not have a single observable dividend for all their crimes at the end of the affair, not before and not now or ever will they have anything to show for their treason, which at least cannot be said for the ******. Because today not a single one of the numerous corrupt mercenaries tried by the Occupation and its Western backers, even those who foolishly thought they could pretend to be “resistance” so to discredit it like the so called Haaji Abdi Imaam Omar and his sidekick Abdullahi Sheikh Hassan have failed against the Resistance reality or to give that elusive credibility, to make “Kosher” what is intrinsically sinful. The resistance lays deep in the hearts of the people, the so called rabble in the farcical “Tfg” smokescreen altogether generally and especially those going under “******” have borne not a single tangible fruit for the legitimating of the Occupation. What has this done? This has forced the Tigre occupiers to become the virulently mad dogs they are turning their frustrations and desperation into a killing spree targeting all, now including even those same criminal mercenaries and warlords who are earnestly working with them, hence the killing of so called TFG non-existent warlords, failed daily assassination attempts etc all done by the Tigre occupation forces, even the broad daylight robbing of the disgraced warlord Osman Aaato of his last possessions-a fitting justice for a man who contributed more to the destruction of the people in hindsight than even Meles Zinawi. Of course the Tigre Occupiers have not left out those who they have publicly and privately blame for their impasse (more like failure) to move the occupation even inches forward in Somalia, namely, the Habr Gedir clan. In the last calculation the barbaric killing of Ali Iman Sharmarke and Mahad Elmi, two innocent men was caused by a desperate, paranoid and genocidal Ethiopian Occupation who despite the best efforts of its powerful Western patrons and internal proxy tribal militias is crumbling under its weight today. This Occupation cannot be sustained for its demise was set in motion the day it entered Mogadishu in the hopes of reverting Somalis to accept statelessness (especially Mogadishu residents known for their freedom) this time under Ethiopia exploitation. What a delusion of catastrophic portions! Not even America, the sole remaining Superpower has had such a vanity as this Meles Zinawi, let alone been able to maintain this crude and evil model of Neo-colonization on the cheap scheme centered on institution of permanent anarchy and simultaneous exploitation of people and land! It has failed in Afghanistan, it has failed miserably in Iraq and it has failed to even take off in Mogadishu. Yet, it has not escaped me in the least that both Ali Iman and Mahad Elmi have been targeted for their clan lineage above all namely these two along with being private entrepreneurs and community activists who helped build Somalia’s media to maturity were nevertheless killed by the Tigre Occupiers for hailing from the oft persecuted Somali enemy of theirs: Habr Gedir clan in today Occupied Somalia. But, what benefit if any will the targeting of two innocent men who are inconsequential to the Occupation give the Tigre occupiers in Mogadishu? These two men were journalists telling news and even that under incredible Tigre censorship already. Their killing will not silence nor change the hearts and minds of the millions of people which are up in arms and will never give in, whose children will never give in and whose occupiers have already given up on fooling themselves into believing what they did was worth it, with their overall tribal boss Meles Zinawi own admission of failure in invasion of Somalia is their any hope in this desperate killings spree? ( See Ethiopian Premier Admits Errors on Somalia By Stephanie McCrummen Washington Post Foreign Service Friday, June 29, 2007; Page A16 http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/06/28/AR2007062802464.html ) Meles Zinawi as history will show should have known better to ever fool himself into believing that all Somalis were the parasitic mercenaries who sheltered him in the 1980s Somalia of dictator Siyaad Barre or for that matter the scum dictators who he was told to arm so that that could menace Mogadishu with American, European and UN support in the 1990s until 2006. The people Zinawi is terrorizing have fought 508 years of intense, of and on again European colonization and neo-colonial inspired Black dictatorship of the worst kind they have resisted and fought and continue to do so against forced subjugation and conversion. Does Meles Zinawi, the pretentious wannabe Menelik King of Kings believe that he is greedier, more determined and more fanatically anti-Islam than Vasco da Gama or any different, whose adventures in 15th century Somalia were doomed from the day he landed offshore? Zinawi’s misadventure can only be salvaged by his retreat and in the end he will be known as the maker of the Tigrayans’ downfall This land Somalia belongs to those who have made it peaceful against the cruel forces of nature and man, after years of warlords and tyranny no one will accept less than freedom; this land belongs to those who fought for it before and who fight for it today singlehandily against the Ethiopian usurping invaders and who, like it or not, go down in history to have brought justice, peace and government in our lifetime to date in Somalia that even their avowed enemies partook in!

August 13th, 2007 Somali Concern Group, PRESS RELEASE Subject: Slaughter of Journalists Should be Today, 11 August 2007, a terrible crime was committed in Mogadishu, Somalia, a carefully planned assassination of two prominent journalists - Mahad Ahmed Elmi of the Capital Voice Radio and Ali Iman Sharmarke, manager and owner of HornAfrik TV and Radio. Mr. Elmi was gunned down just outside his radio station by two armed men who were waiting for him at around 7:00 a.m. local time. The second journalist, Mr. Sharmarke was killed by a remote controlled road side explosive device which targeted the vehicle he was riding in a convoy of vehicles returning from the funeral of Mr. Elmi who was killed earlier today. Mr. Sharmarke was pronounced dead at the scene of the explosion. He was going back to his radio station to be interviewed by Aljazeera English TV on the circumstances of the death of Mr. Elmi. A third journalist, Mr. Abdihakim Omar Jimale was fatally wounded last night after he was shot in the chest by two gunmen in the Yaqshid district of Mogadishu. The targeting of journalists is certainly an act of terrorizing the journalism community and silencing the free press in a country illegally occupied and ruled by warlords. The TFG and Ethiopian occupation have already banned all foreign journalists from the country. Somali Concern Group (SCG) condemns the assassinations of journalists and silencing of free press in a country struggling to learn the trade mark of freedom of expression and free press. Mahad Elmi, Ali Sharmarke, Abdikarim Jimale and all other killed reporting what is happening in Somalia deserve justice. About six journalists were killed in Mogadishu in the last few months in circumstances similar to these latest assassinations. Giving them justice will also protect other journalists who bravely report from a country that does not allow foreign reporters to come in and scrutinize what is happening there. On Tuesday, 7 August, an officer from the Ethiopian Embassy in Mogadishu named Jamaludin called on Shabelle Radio Station and threatened with punitive measures if they don’t stop the broadcasting of growing humanitarian crisis and human rights abuses that are daily taking place in the city. On Friday, 10 August, 9 of Shabelle radio staff were detained by the TFG militias and still journalist Bile Abdullahi is in detention. It is also documented that HornAfrik and GBC (Global Broadcasting Corporation) Radio and TVs were bombarded by the Ethiopians during the fighting in last April. HornAfrik was also searched four times in July on the pretext of weapons search and nothing was found. Its co-chair Mr. Ahmed has recently fled Somalia and went back to United States after he was threatened. No question that the perpetrators of these horrific crimes are the TFG and Ethiopian forces. They are the only side that is doing something illegal and want to hide from the public and international community. The gross human rights abuses such as planned assassinations, detentions, raping, robbing public properties and confiscation of private properties such as 4X4 vehicles, money, computer, mobiles and property ownership documents. The thousands of detained civilians held for distortion and ransom money as a new way funding the illegal occupation is dehumanizing. Detainees must pay at least $500 before they are released. Otherwise, they will stay behind bars for a long time. Children as young as 10 year old are in detentions and one them is named Ali Abdi. The security situation in Somalia and particularly in Mogadishu has rapidly deteriorated since the Ethiopian invasion of the country in December last year. The abuses to human rights, the closing down of free press and subsequent intimidation and killing of journalists and growing political uncertainly in the country should be enough to end the appeasement of the occupation and supporting the criminal institution it protects against its own people. The TFG has no legitimacy from its people and capacity to political reconciliation. It is only waste of time and resources to blindly support an institution that is failing and doomed to die. We call upon the United Nation, United States, EU countries, Arab League, African Union, Human rights organizations to investigate the unlawful killing of the journalists and continuous human rights abuses that are daily taking place in Somalia and bring those responsible of these heinous crimes before the court of law. We urge you to end the occupation as it is the source of instability and deteriorating human rights violations in Somalia. The appeasement and supporting of the occupation will not bring about peace and reconciliation in Somalia as the Somali problem is one of political and needs political solutions and not military or occupation. Give justice to those slain on the line of duty and bring those who committed these heinous crimes before the court of law.

Fri. August 17, 2007 09:40 pm.- (SomaliNet) Amid rising insurgency attacks targeted on the government positions in the Somalia capital Mogadishu, the Islamist militants fired rocket-propelled grenades into the police station of Wadajir district, southwest of the city on Friday night, local official said. There is no immediate casualty on the soldiers at the police station. Ahmed Daci, the Wadajir district commissioner, told tonight the local media that insurgent group had attacked the police station. He said the police repelled the attackers by responding with the automatic machine-guns. The sound of the exchanged gunfire could be heard throughout the district casting fear to the residents. Among the attacked police posts within this week are Wadajir, Hodan, Howlwadag and Huriwa. The latest incident was part of series attacks on the government positions for the past few weeks. The Ethiopian backed interim government forces drove the Islamic Courts out of Somalia late last year in a bloody war which claimed the lives of thousands people.
