  1. Thank you sister Raxmah. Got me thinking as all good post should.
  2. Brother horn I see that the cheerleaders on these forum's throwing words whos import they do not grasp such as neo-nationalist around, has really gotten to you. Maybe my criteria for nationalism will help, as you said you want to know how we base our nationalism. 1. I believe in a united somalia. 2. I believe in a somalia irridenta. 3. I am completely against, in theory and in practise the use of qabiil, and wage a personal jihad against my soul, whenever it seems to be slipping into qabil cliches, and comforting myths 4. I beleive in democracy, because my nationalism is an expression of the peoples will , and democracy is the least flawed manner of expression. 5. I believe in meritocracy, namely that a persons individual endevours be they female or male will be the determining factor in their progress in somali society, and not the patronage of the qabill they are so lucky or unlucky to have been born a member of. 6. I intend in the future as i do NOW to put into practise my believes in every interaction and joint enteprise i engage in with my fellow somalis. 7. AND MY order of priorites are as follows. Islam and the muslim ummah somalia family individual That is my personal ambition. Period
  3. Brother MMA has brought up a good point. The fact is scince these Lands were set up as regional administrations, all we have been doing is toting up the failures of other lands as if the people who leave in the OTHER land are foreigners we are at war with. Mrs.Egal talks about other somalis. When will she say that what occured is due to interference from "negative" forces in sool and sanaag. Then negative forces in puntland. All that would be left for her less sophisticated supporters is for them to utter the D word. then khalaas there goes the neighnourhood. And any pretence at an all inclusive administration.
  4. This guy is joking right neo-nazi, puntland , jamac. Wallahi brother Horn afrique i am going to take your advice. The mental dislocation to argue with this person I must admit I have not. Just talk talk talk
  5. I like the neo nationalist crowed of Somalia hehehe when did we start making up words neo-nationalist?? the very least you could have done is explain what you mean when you say that I mean i feel vaguely put down; but the feeling passed quickly enough. who where once the either Afweyne or clan diehards are now Somali nationalists. Do you see how your mind is trying to get a hold on my qabil!! first you take a pot shot at mogadishu warlords and when i take that in my stride you accuse me of being related to Siyad sorry but if we are talkin blood lines you are closer to him than i could ever hope to be. To them any new idea is Ethiopian any new initiative is by warlords who now have contracted HIV. . This mental flip flop's you are doing are unnecessary. I dont know about ethiopian intiatives but i do know that the reason why ina yusuf is president isku sheeg in puntland is by the armed intervention of ethiopian forces on behalf and in aid of qabilist forces in puntland aiming to frustrate the express whishes of puntlanders for Jamac. Ergo if yusuf has been a beast in puntland then all you are propsing under all your bulletins and articles. is the extension of ina yusufs beastiality to all of somalia. god forbid. To them moral and political arguments are mixed and myths perpetrated for their own agendas are “truth”. This cowed deals with absolutes, always, never and will are there basic mantra now brother what you are doing is flailing at the wind. you believe that ina yusuf is a good thing for somalia i believe based on his record and his speeches that he is the furthest thing from that. This is my truth. I will defend Abdullahi Yusuf against the neo nationalist truth. Was it Abdullahi who bombed Hargaysa? Or destroyed Mogadishu or took part in the clan cleanisng of Mogadishu and parts of the south? The truth is no, yet Abdiqasin, Morgan Barre Hirale, Dahir Riyale Kahin, Osman Ato Omar Jess took part in this orgy, as you know Abdullahi was not part of this war. Was it abdullahi who exterminated the residents of hawd. The men of clans who were not from his in the hawd of somalia? The termite in the somali firmament? Yes okay lets move on. Again i ask you to stop making the assumption that because i recognize ina yusuf for the killer that he is...i am somehow oblivious to the crimes of the other men you have named ....although it is a cowardly and moraly bankrupt accusation to make at the very least you include Yusufs name in the roll call of infamy instead of trying to convince us of his being the bearer of all good things. Yet he is portrait as the greatest warlord ever, if he did not take part in the worst civil war battles how he is the worst warlord? AH so you agree he is a warlord and use the fundamentally most akward argument to excuse him. I tell you what we "neo-nationalist" want...freedom from the warlords and their cheerleaders. Another point to stress to neo nationalist is this, Abdullahi as a Somali officer fought in 1964 Somali Ethiopia war and won honours, he was against the coup of the officer Barre and was improsned, who was the nationalist Afwene or Abdullahi? So did other unsung heroes who fought in the border incident you make seem like a prelude to world war 3. why should we assume that yusuf was a nationalist to be against the coup of siyaad. He could have been a coward at the last moment. He might have wanted the rich pickings of a conquered state for his illustrious clan rather than this up-starts Afweynes. Also many staunch nationalists were delirious with delight when the military (Xoga dalka ) took over and swept away the corrupt civilan goverment can they be accused in hindsight of not being nationalist? Finally even assuming he was a nationalist in 1964 he spent the last 30 years wiping out his moment of conscience. However to neo nationalist this service doesn’t matter because he later fought Afweyne, He attempted a coup against afweyne...in his own personal intreasts. He failed and plunged his clan. A clan i might add that would have been wholly satisfied with being another M in the MOD of the goverment in to armed confontration with the goverment. Not for democracy Or human rights But for Kursi ga And more so he set a precedent in somali history of using ethiopian arms and aid to dismember our motherland. A policy i can say he has fOLLOWED CONSISENTLY till today. Again the “truth” to the neo nats is that Abdullahi fought Afweyne their man, or Jmac Cali Jamac their man or Abdiqasin their man or Ayeed their man. Or he stood in front of Somaland and then he is the warlord the Punk the man with the Indian liver. The above paragraph is called hysteria. notice how the man excuses the democraticaly appointed Jamacs claim to leadership for Yusuf. Smith N western you are not pro-puntland. Puntland as an entity is just a vehicle for YOUR mans assecion of the presidency. You sir are Pro-yusuf. Should I say you are a qabilist or should i turn the other cheek like some brothers on the forum do and give you the benefit of the doubt?? No i aint that type. I think further studies should be done on this phenomenon of the neo Somali nationalist. I agree since this is the first time i have heard it. And you seem to like it so much you have used it several times in your post. DONT USE WHAT LAW ABIDING SOMALIS IN PUNTLAND ARE DOING FOR THEMSELVES AS A FIG LEAF FOR YOUR MURDERER
  6. ^^^^ FREIND I HOPE YOU HAVE NOT ACCUSED ME OF FABRICATING THIS. LORDS OF POVERTY IS A BOOK THAT IS AVAIABLE IN ANY BOOKSHOP. OR BETTER YET ASK ANY ONE WHO WAS INVOLVED IN THE NGO SCENE OF THE LATE 80'S. WE NOMADS GIVE EVERY BODY THE ELEMENTARY RESPECT THAT THEY DESERVE, YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE THE MISTAKE OF ACCUSING ME OF LYING. IN PURSUIT OF CALM I ADVICE YOU NOT TO DO THAT AGAIN.
  7. Its like blame others for our failures, blame Abdullahi Yusuf for what ever scenario that happens in Mogadishu, the clan blood lettings the occupations and murders and political weakness of Abdiqasin blame it all on the PUNK from Puntland. LOL Brother Smith, you have a very bad habit of deflecting any criticism towards abdilahi yusuf by accusing every body who recognizes him for what he is, that is a murder and the archetypal warlord, of being pro-salad or pro-mogadishu. Secondly i Blame him for failing as a leader from 1978 to the present, I blame him for stifling free-speech and the will of the people of puntland. And I blame him, and accuse him of being an ethiopian puppet, and for him to have allowed 1 soldier let alone an entire division of ethiopian soldiers on the soil of the motherland disqualyfies him in the eyes of every right thinking somali nationalist and somali who hopes for the rule of justice in any future somalia. It seems like the Somali peace is less important to you than the ambitions of individual leaders Again you assume that I support any of these murderers, I as the majiority of somalis had high hopes for the TNG goverment that the goverment failed, should be blamed on their ineptitude rather than on our patriotism. Brother Puntland is a Somali state and it is not going any where. If this is what bothers you then tough. But I hope that Somalia can find a central government no matter which PUNK becomes the eventual leader it is very intreasting to see the way your admmitedly cunning mind works but I will give you and others that think like you a little advice. Puntland is wonderfull as an entity both social and political, but slithering and sliding in your garden of eden is the notion, the idea that puntland and the person of ina yusuf are inextribicaly linked, if that is the case, then when yusuf falls puntland as you envisage it will fall as well. You are doing more damage to it than any anti-puntland force could ever do. "No matter what punk becomes the leader". I am sure i know what punk YOU are hoping for. LOL. Not in a million years will a mass murderer, arch-qabilist and collaborater like yusuf even pass wind in villa somalia again. Beace iyo caano geel.

    Combat Kit

Asalamu aleykum. Perhaps my experience has been similar to other nomads , As one of the few muslims in my school I was called from an early age to defend my religion, from islamophobes, bullying teachers and the just plain curious. I always tried to acquit my self But until I discoverd the writings of Sheikh Deedat (A.R) I had always felt I could do better. This is are two links to free online books written by Deedat that have really helped me out and educated me about my religion Combat Kit This well organised booklet is meant to serve the purpose of countering the narrow-minded Bible thumpers that visit the Muslim homes out in the West. Sheikh Deedat has written this book with the understanding and long term experience that logical reasoning with Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses etc is a futile attempt. what the bible saysabout muhamed (p.b.u.h) God revealed a prophecy to Moses that a Prophet would arise that would be like him. In this small booklet, the Muslim scholarly claim is weighed against the traditional Christian claim If you have more information on these lines from Deedat or other muslimeen please share as I am sure during this time of ramadhan every one will take part in Da'wah even if it is merely a link to the LIGHT.
  10. Salafiyyah thank you very much for the piece.
  11. Smith n western, I suppose we should all emulate the Punk of Puntland and destroy somalia by proxy for the ethiopians.? i think not.
  12. er... um..... Money Is that wrong??!
  13. May be some of you who were in Nairobi, kenya in 1989 will remeber Dr.Bishaaro Ali. Not for anything good he did but for an incident so spectacular (this being before 1991 and the end of the world in somalia)that it was transsmitted around the somali community in the world like a Flash of lightning. May be you should know some of the back ground to the incident. __________________________________________________ Graham Hancok wrote (in1989) in his sensational, seminal, muckraking exposé, Lords of Poverty: The Freewheeling Lifestyles, Power,Prestige & Corruption of the Multimillion Dollar Aid Business "In 1989 Bisharo Ali, a Somali living in Canada (where he had obtained economics, sociology and social work degrees), applied for the job of the Field Assistant at HCR’s office in the central Somali town of Belet Weyne. He was turned down by Robin MacAlpine, HCR’s Assistant Representative in Somalia, on the astonishing grounds that he was too well qualified. ‘With your broad experience in Canada, MacAlpine wrote, ‘It is considered unlikely that you would be able to spend years in such a post without considerable frustration." __________________________________________________ Well needless to say Bishaaro was mad, mad and angry but while another man would have fulminated, written complaints, threatend to talk to Mc alpines boss, Dr. Bishaaro went calmly in to his garage and took ot a very long a very sharp Panga similar to the one below: He drove out the car and started opening the boot of his car. When his second somali wife ( his first having been a canadian, whose daughter to him incidentaly saw the whole thing) A very famous nurse at a mogadishu hospital ( C'mon ciyall muqdisho you must know her) got all shocked and asked him what he was going to do with the machete, he explained very clamly that he was going to decapitate the head of the U.N head of mission in nairobi. Oh she tried as a good wife should to stop him, the harder he tried to get past her the more she got hysterical, the more he pushed the more she pulled, the more she screamed NO, NO. STOP, STOP !!! well this must have really annoyed him because he took out his machete and with one blow seperated her head from her body!! This was not enough, he started hacking er into tiny pieces on the drive way of his house , in full view of his daughter and staff. Bundling the human cargo into the boot of his car he took the corpse to the house of his clansmen, and demanded he take back his clans woman (incedentaly of the same clan as bishaaro), no amount of pleading could even convince this man who was showing and has never shown any remorse over what he did. Well he was hurried in to somalia just when the heavy fighting was occuring. I thought he had died , had been killed by a stray bullet or by the very least the family of the daed woman. But no no. Dr.Bishaaro Ali is since 2000 the director of the mogadishu institute of psychiatric services.........to those who still dont get it HE IS HEAD OF THE LOONY BIN IN MUQDISHO!!!! With men such as this who have a vested intreast in the continued mayhem in somalia so as to avoid ever facing justice, running institutions and qabils how will we ever get out of the darkness. Akyr dunya when such people can escape the truth and are even feted for it!
  14. So i ask you my fellow Learned concerned citizens: Is it that we Just like to go the easy way and avoid risks into new businesses/talents or we just like to immitate/and or is it 'XIN'(jealousy) that makes us follow the others?? Would it disapoint you if i said all three are a major cause of the present dillema? First of all to somalis who have only a finite supply of money to invest in a bussiness, the prospect of starting a completely new sort of bussiness line can be daunting . So indeed they choose line for instance clothing that Ina hebel hebel seems to have profited from. Equally imitation as they say is the scincerest form of flattery and the imitation of several succesfull somali run bussinesses is a reflection of somali's adulation of anyone who succeds. According to Jelousy, i have actualy heardof and seen people who have setup shops just because that qabil or hebel has opened up one  To me it doesnt make sense although it must make sense to those who would do such things. But the more people see that the more original and new a persons bussiness is the more profitable it will be , but until this positive connection is made, i am afraid get ready to see more mobile and clothes shop selling the same damn thing

  18. I am not aware if this topic has already been posted and if it has i appologize scincerley in advance. I got this website from an e-mail of a friend informing me that the universities director will be on his way to south africa. So i thought that i could share it with my fellow nomads, as an exaple of what somalis can do if given one quater of the oppurtunities of the west. And in this case they trully do it out of altruism. the web page of mogadishu university
  19. Aid agencies have been neglecting the problems facing refugee schoolchildren. Of every 10 households within the 500- strong Somali refugee community in Mayfair, Johannesburg, up to eight are headed by women. Male relatives have either been killed or have gone missing in the war. In some cases, the women are abandoned by their husbands after they arrive here. The responsibility of running a household and putting food in the mouths of their children is a far cry from their traditional role in native Somalia. The meagre earnings of refugee women who spend their days hawking vegetables on street corners must be enough to buy food and pay rent. Now many of these women are being told they need to pay for their children's education as well. The United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) convention relating to the status of refugees stipulates that contracting states must accord refugees favourable treatment in terms of access to education. Though some schools with Somali refugee pupils have waived payment in return for parents assisting in various administrative duties, the issue of school fees for refugee schoolchildren is becoming increasingly worrying for their parents. According to Abbas Yusuf Abdi, executive director of the Somali Association of South Africa, the responsibility of the payment of fees to schools accommodating refugee children should rest with the UNHCR, and its implementing partner in South Africa, the Jesuit Refugee Services (JRS). "Maintaining the standard of the particular school makes payment of school fees a necessity, which the refugee organisations should realise." Out of the hundreds of refugee children attending schools in Johannesburg, the JRS is paying school fees for fewer than half. Last year, it introduced a protocol that stipulated that refugees who are resident in the country for 18 months and more are no longer eligible for financial support from the service. Yusuf bitterly refers to this as "cellphone assessment". He says that the JRS has been withholding aid to families found to be in possession of a cellphone - a vital tool for communicating with relatives and conducting business. Many Somali refugee families, despite their poverty, have given small donations to Yusuf's association, to pay into the school account. Others have offered to work as voluntary watchmen at the school, or to do various jobs such as painting and furniture repair. Fees are not the only problem facing refugee children at public schools. The trauma of war faced by the children and their parents, coupled with language problems, has made it difficult for the children to be successfully integrated in the schools. In addition, there is the lack of permanency that comes with refugee life - parents may find work in another part of the country and withdraw their children in mid-term. The grade one class at Crown Reef Primary has 20 Somali refugee pupils. Some are as old as 15 and have never been to school before. In addition, the children, most of whom saw relatives killed or fought in the war themselves, are transferring their trauma into uncontrollable behaviour in the classroom. In one incident this week a teacher had to intervene to stop one of the children from cutting a fellow pupil with a pair of scissors. The behaviour of the children has been blamed on a lack of adequate trauma counselling for refugee children who have borne the brunt of war. Many Somali parents are also finding it increasingly difficult to relate to their teenage children who attend public schools, where they are becoming "acculturised". Muhammad Yusuf Nuh, reputedly one of the oldest Somalis living in Mayfair, laments the generation gap between himself and his son, Jamal (15), also attending Crown Reef Primary. "In Somalia," he says, "I could never look my father in the eye. In fact, I don't even clearly remember the face of my father, because I was so respectful." His son, he says, constantly shaking his head in disbelief, not only looks him in the eye, but answers back, and disagrees with him often. Abbas Yusuf says that many Somali children have absorbed the Americanised culture of South Africa, which makes it difficult for their parents, who were brought up in strictly Islamic, traditionalist Somalia. Crown Reef Primary, together with the nearby Task Academy, which also has many Somali refugee pupils, has introduced measures to assist the children. The governing body of Crown Reef Primary started an extra grade one class to accommodate the pupils, and offers extracurricular tuition to pupils, all at no cost. Many Somali families feel the refugee organisations are not doing enough to help their school-going children, however. For instance, says Yusuf, many children do not have a meal either before or after school because the aid agencies assume the family has enough money. The introduction of feeding schemes for the pupils, as well as the provision of trauma counselling facilities for both pupils and teachers, he says, should be a priority. Co-operation with other NGOs, such as religious organisations, could also be a step towards alleviating the problem. "Every refugee organisation in this country has a moral obligation to help refugees until they can take care of themselves," he said Notice please who doles out the money to refugees?......i know it is a depressing article but one of local success stories will be coming up
  20. Somalia: Political Deadlock and Social bewilderment Since the Somali state collapsed on January 26 1991, Somalia's political and social situation has been painfully choatic, acrimonious and lacked clear political direction. During the last 13 years, the country has faced very ugly clannish wars, tribal secessionist threats, active foreign military intervention, incompetent and visionless warlords, as well as elite politicians who tore Somali society apart and led Somalia bleeding to death. On the whole, for Somalia, it has been a picture of hopelessness, famine, political and social failures on a massive scale. It is puzzling beyond comprehension how Somali Warlords, elite politicians, traditional leaders, religious leaders and intellectuals, have collectively failed to bring about or create an atmosphere of stability, national reconciliation and the relaunch of the disappeared Somali state. On the International diplomatic stage, various clans have sought and begged for whatever support in order to establish their own independent tribal homelands, complaining , rather emotionally, that they cannot continue living with the rest of Somali clans because of what had been done to their clan. Thus, on the world diplomatic platform, Somalis have become the most primitive, unruly, unpatriotic and unimaginative human beings to deal with on the planet, because of their lack of seriousness, firm political and social convictions and the ability to overcome the past and move on to the future. Hence, sociologists and other social scientists may have a case to study in relation to Somali characteristics, behavioral actions and generic background. In a society where there are no much social stratifications, cultural and linguistic variations, it is shocking to understand the level of hatred and endless disputes generated among Somali society. It appears as though the fabric of Somali society has been destroyed beyond remedy in the near future. But human beings live in hope and it would be wrong to suggest otherwise. Nevertheless, in the last 13 years of Somalia's political and social events, the only genuine and Somali inspired peace conference held for the sole cause of Somalia, was the one held at the District of Arte, Djibouti, in August 2000. The Republic of Djibouti , its leaders and population have done an outstanding job in relation to Somalia's national reconciliation, the relaunch of the Somali State and sincerely representing the cause of Somalia on the world state and diplomatic circles. But unfortunately, the results of that peace conference in Djibouti , where the organs of a Somali government were elected and constructed with the aim of strengthening those institutions, propagating all inclusive national reconciliation and making that government a vehicle for peace and clean governance, was squandered by the politicians and intellectuals who took those responsibilities and took an oath to make things better for Somalis and Somalia. I am not going to cite details here as to how the (TNG) failed disgracefully to fulfill its obligations, but it is suffice to say that national interests, social justice and good governance were strikingly ignored and left out to the point that the (TNG) itself became embroiled in a bitter, despicable and divisive squabbling which led to eventual breakdown beyond redemption. That episode of the (TNG) inner struggle, acrimony and fighting, has brought disgrace and bad image to the Somali people at large, not to mention world impressions on the Somalis. The perception and legitimate argument here is, if the most educated and experienced Somali politicians and intellectuals are behaving like this, what would you expect the ordinary people to do. Now we are at Mbagathi Pig's farm where since October 2002, the Somali peace conference has been in session on and off with no clear picture yet whether it will bear positive results or not. As things stand now with respect to this most controversial Somali attended but not led conference, is that, it is unlikely that any worthwhile or tangible results would come out of this badly managed and politically manipulated conference. As far as the conference is concerned, the Somali participants whoever they represent are bitterly divided, the IGAD states are also divided and have no credibility at all with regard to the political and social issues of Somalia proper. And with hindsight, the International Community should not have entrusted the governments of Ethiopia ad Kenya to the political and social reconciliation of Somalia, because both Governments are politically and socially tainted and very hostile on the political and social equation of Somalia. Having said that, I still believe that there are some possibilities to salvage this beleaguered and disoriented peace conference provided the following measures are put in place immediately and without anymore delays: - The removal of Mr. Pathuel Kiplagat as Chairperson and replace him with a Somali Statesman who could command the respects of all concerned parties The removal of the so-called Front Line States (IGAD) from their position of trust on Somalia's affairs and replace them with United Nations Move the Venue of the conference from Kenya to either in Somalia or any other neutral country Make the peace conference genuine, all inclusive and lawful Throw out the deceitful and unworkable 'national constitution' drafted by Kenya & Ethiopia, for it will not be accepted by the Somalis In conclusion, Somalia has been let down by its professional soldier officers, established politicians, intellectuals, traditional leaders, businessmen and religious scholars, after failing comprehensively to forge a common rational ground of salvaging Somalia and creating an atmosphere of stability and reconciliation in Somalia. On the whole, it has been dismal performance of duties by the above-mentioned groups. Somalia has become an International football due to indifference, unpatriotic, self-seeking, ********* and uncaring of the Somali Warlords and politicians whose daily slogans and strategy are to polarise Somali society along clan lines in order to exploit them for their own selfish ends. Thus the Somalis should be ashamed of what they have done to their people and country by giving every opportunity and pretext to Somalia's arch enemies to take advantage of Somalia's current social and political turmoil. The popular Somalis view is, any clan or politician who collaborates with Somalia's known rivals and enemies are national traitors and they must not be allowed to succeed in Somalia. The International Community must not support the further dismemberment of Somalia into clan based mini-states that wouldn't stand a chance to be viable and survive, and should wholeheartedly support Somalia's national Territorial Integrity and unity because that is the only path of keeping peace and development in East Africa. 21. Nefertiti welcome back and i really like your signature. I am a hemaphrodite.  who the hell is laughing.
  22. Thank you brother Khayr as usual people argue these things out as if they really had a say in these things , when it has already been pre-determined under the system they live in. Beyond the capitalist system is the wholly kaffiir idea that one must gain, gain, gain to be considerd a worth while member of society, an idea that is implanted from the first shopping trip ( i would say christmas but i am giving some people the benefit of the doubt). "homo econmicus' foremost community is the community of his intreast" Friedman in ROAD TO SERFDOM.
  23. the reer Djibouti diplomats are always trying to take credit for bringing together these so-called peace conferences They do not need to TRY to take credit they have sponserd not only in their own country three confrences, so were does the trying come in? in the hopes that if their is a peace that derives from them, they will take full credit for bringing it about Hehehe please do not tell me that you are being naive this is one of the first reasons a country hosts a peace summit..not so...? but when they fail, as they always have to the present, they always run and try to save face. Firstly that they fail is the fault of somalis, and the part about saving face is your own very subjective view. I don't think they are really interested in making the valient efforts and diplomatic compromises it takes to bring about such a peace, they just want to be their and be recognized for it in case it happens. djibouti is a facilitator the people that are expected to make "valiant efforts" are somalis them selves and what does diplomatic comprimises have to do with it, djibouti is not a warring faction neither is it involved in somali politics to the extent that ethiopia is. Lander correct me if i am wrong but the only reason that you have chosen to pick on little ol labba-hunno djibouti is that all the peace talks that it has sponserd and the ones it will sponser is based on the dictum of a somalia united. If on the other hand you said that this is the major reason why the peace talks have faled , then at least it would have been a more ...honest argument. In the words of the ol time poets kalasaar ruun iyo been
