Aren't we being a bit naive and impressionable now, I believe it was Gen.Morgan who hired those Christian merceneries and not Samatar. Put the blame where it rests not where you LIKE it to rest. Was it not just" to bring them to trail or was it just to shoot them in the middle of the night! Who is the hypocrite here: Ali Samater trail is farce but the death of hundredth of people is just??? Bring them to trial????? You act as if though Somalia was a Democratic country, how naive of you, Even if they were brought to trial sweetheart, their fate would still be the same regardless, cry me a river and claim all you want that they were killed because of clan lineage, the truth is they were killed because of Treason, they were conspiring against their own sovereign. Now don't get your knickers in a twist. I'm not condoning those actions as you seem to imply but giving you some information based on facts instead of hatred. Second of all, don't be more of an imbecile and use words or statements out of context. I stated the Government thought it was Just not I. Read before you Reap. Lastly, you state Riyaale isn't a murderer in your eyes though he had a hand in the bombing of hergeisa which you aren't willing to accept yet Samatar is murderer in your biased eyes because he was a Prime Minister, well well well I guess your sense of justice stops once Somaliland's borders are reached miyaa? In my opinion, since there is no evidence, factual knowledge or real hard evidence to tie samatar to the Hergeisa bombings, lest not we forget that Pinochet (even though he wasn't tried)was the president if that gives you some meager of hope that they will go after samatar with the same vengeance, other than Samatar being a PM for Somalia which was dictatorially controlled at the time, you "guys" might have a case against Samatar but I'm quite sure it won't be brought to court. But this observations is just based on personal opinion. Furthermore, Eedo, I do call you that because of your Limited, biased view like our dear elders, Hate is a disease, it grows in one like tumors so please do distinguish between what really happened and what is believed that happened by our ow clan (YOURS AND MINE) Eedos  , Hooyos,Uncles, Fathers, Awoowe and Ayeeyos oo cimrikooda ku damaystay Somaliya. Hey I have a bright idea, why don't you take your own advice and know about the topic at hand though I don't have much hope that it will be followed, since one can't teach an Old dog new tricks.

You hijacking this topic like you Bin-Landing this Thread Pepper.(get it wink wink)..are you Black or Red horta? I happen to think I'm quite funny (where as the Accountant is Funny looking). As for cracking myself up, I'm my own best audience and do you actually mean to tell me that your jeep a.k.a The WidowMaker is still running. Balaayo!

Sweetheart, I guess I fell I victim to age old Read before you reap, I didn't notice the IF in there but darling I'm correct when I do state they were killed because of Treason and not because they were "Somalilanders" as you claim. I think me and you both (though you make me think at times that you're a bit feeble minded) can understand this isn't just about Cali Samatar. How you can justify calling me a hypocrite for condemning the actions of the former regime whilst and I quote you say "just cause" by the former government is beyond me. I would call you ignorant but then I know you know very well that massacre in Jazeera was actually targeting Somaliland because of their clan lineage and don’t go saying otherwise unless you want to keep on being ridiculous. It was a just cause to the governement to kill anybody regardless of clan lineage that THEY DEEMED guilty of treason, and I didn't call you a hypocrite for condemning the actions, I as well do condemn them along with you Eedo. You asked "Lets hear your cases!!! When did Riyale or any other Somaliland serving national bomb any region of Somalia let alone order the genocide of a whole country with no hesitation??" then you wrote "Fact is you have nothing on any Somalilander to have commmitted crimes of inhumanity" in the same post Isn't Riyaale a "Somalilander," Yes wasn't Riyaale part of the Red Baret, the Secret service of Siad Barre, Yes Yes and wasn't Riyaale the man who gathered information on The SNM for Siad Barre which led to the Bombing, again Eedo Yes Yes Yes. That is why I call You a Hypocrite and This whole Trial, a farce need for justice. You're misinformed about this despicable debacle but then you've been only getting the Hergeisa version so who could blame you. Also, Cali Samatar didn't order the bombing Siad Barre (referring to quote above)thus why I say you're using him as a means of Scapegoat. In your world 1+1 really does =3 but in Mine, sourheart It ='s 2.

No disrespect meant but am I the only one who sees resemblances between Bush and Cabdilaahi Yusuf? It is quite remarkable. It just seems too good be true but I shall keep my predictions/the outcome of the current government to myself just incase there is a slim chance that I might be wrong.

Same advise as missy goes; Come with fact not blind leap of defence. Sweetheart, isn't that the case of the Pot calling the Kettle black? really your hypocrisy is boundless. Furthermore Missy, The Jazeera Masacre based on Factual Knowledge instead of your Passion driven, biased nonfacts happened because the men were guilty of treason. Now lets understand that If anybody chooses to rise up against the State, if you're familiar with the structure of politics you would know especially in a Dictatorial controlled country such as Somalia was, where at that time ONE PERSON had implicit and unprecendented power, then they are guilty of treason, Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign and therefore Siad Barrre (may allah have mercy on him) did/ordered to be done, what he felt was just. Oh dear misguided soul, do understand that I'm not condoning nor justifying what the Government did but trying to make you understand why it was done and the reason for it. When and if you understand (highly unlikely)it then you would know it is actually a common occurance in any country and wasn't an attempt to wipe out "Somalilanders". If it makes you feel better, Honey "Puntlanders" and even those of Barre's clan family (what a shocker huh  ) were guilty of treason and were killed because the President felt it was just. Wind talker: in my opinion if Ali Samater is the same tribe as Said Barre', we can therfore argue that 1+1=3 indeed You've also proven his point and actually made it a fact while in the process making yourself a hypocrite. You "guys" are only going after ex-officials from Barre's clan instead of everybody who was/is guilty. In my opinion kulahaa and what was this opinion formed on I ponder, let me guess the socialization agents such as your clansmen right dear? For your information, Ali Samatar is actually, now now now sweetheart don't panic, not of Barre's clan. This farce need for justice has been proven by your posts that it's a misguided attempt to extract revenge by trying those who you deem "criminals" basically anybody you think is or are trully of Barre's Clan. Therefore, Heedheh nagadaa shoobaraha iyo beenta. Be honest and stop hiding behind the facade of the justice blanket.

All this is a ploy people, the government has agreed to request for international help to solve this national problem. And should we presume you are the government spokesperson?

This is the man who gave the order or the very least turned a blind eye to the gathering of hundredth and hundredth young Somalilanders in hamar to be put to death in JAZEERA! What possible reasons can you find in your hearts and minds to support him. You amaze me, so you're saying he might of ordered it but because of lack of evidence (on your part), you're blaming him for the killings because he turned a blind eye? Has it occured to you, that maybe there was nothing he could do to stop it, there higher powers that be that might of ordered the killings? Since I have the habit of asking you questions, Why were the young "somalilanders" killed? Was it because of treason? I simply want to know the reason why you think they were killed? What motivated these killings? You can't simply just say it was done because they were "somalilanders"? Oh, and please when and if you choose to answer refrain from giving me the Hergeisa version, I would like some unbaised facts please. Riyaale might not of given the order but as part of the Red Baret, best belief he gathered the information that caused it. Funny how you missed that. As for closure, I doubt putting some one responsible for the killings of my loved ones in jail would bring me closure for justice can't bring them back from the dead, I would just leave him/them to Allah's will. I also find it funny how you chose closure which in my mind I translate to conclusion or End, when you state Samatar is merely a Geunia pig, an experiment which implies if it's a success then more are soon to follow, that doesn't sound like closure or bringing something to conclusion to me Sweetheart.

India, you must be joking. Riyaale might not of given the order but as part of the Red Baret, best belief he gathered the information that caused it. I also have a question for you, How will putting Cali Samatar behind bars and robbing him of his dwindling pension make up for 50,000 lives lost? Lets not delude ourselves, Cali Samatar was just Barre's Minion like many others in his regime, he didn't gave the order to bomb hergeisa as India insiniuated, Siad barre did for he had unprecendented power. And since Siad Barre (Ilaahay ha u naxariisto) is dead and can't be tried as a war criminal, you're using Samatar as scapegoat. These leeches overtly pick-and-choose who to file a lawsuit against - and they're only picking on men who were the same clan-family as the late General, Siyad Barre (alaha u naxaristo). Are we to believe that only one Somali clan-family was included in the Somali government? Are we to believe that all the human rights violations were committed by members of one clan-family? Wind.Talker, Hear Hear. That is the reason why I'm telling the "Uncles" to close "shop" (literally).

Couldn't resist capitalizing all of PUNTLAND'S letters huh , I wonder why you left Somaliland out of the title? ah yet another wonder in the Cut and Paste thread of the politics section. My somali isn't up to bar but what I got from the article is that he visted Somaliland and puntland and is to meet with their political figures to discuss what should be done about the effects of the Tsunami and he is staying in the International Village until a meeting can be arranged. Anyway Mansha'allah for its a welcoming news.

I never understand why Women or anybody for that matter wants to shackle themselves with somebody who is married or otherwise with somebody. I mean Chances are if they cheat on their fiancee, girlfiend, wife (who they are commited to)then they will definatly cheat on you also. What makes you more especial than them? Am I wrong to fall so deeply in love with you knowing I got a wife and two little children depending on me too And am I wrong to hunger for the gentleness of your touch knowing I got somebody else at home who needs me just as much Akhas Calyk! He should be shot!

Originally posted by Wilo: Never had that Experience of grewing up as a gal or women. I wish i did Of course I know how to behavior as a women now, but Iam lacking the experience, I grew up with a lots of boys.... LoL, You telling me, I grew up with 7 boys and thought I was one until puberty hit though I haven't yet to manage how to behave as a woman should sometimes. Back to the topic,History has shown how difficult it is to be born a women. In arabia, pre-Islam they used to bury their daughters alive because they were born a female, and to this day Arabs (some) still harbor the same disdain toward women and try to justify their cultural beliefs and abdominable acts (Dad slits daughters throat) through Islam. Also, at point in your life you would be judged unfairly, subjected to ridicule and degraded because You're a woman, that would be a given but in my opinion I think being a woman is a blessing and even Allah said in his Quran,"your heaven lies beneath the feet of your mother", what greater gift can be bestowed on a Woman than that. To answer your Question, In Islam I think women and men both share the feeling of in betweeness especially those growing up in a western society, being exposed to different ideals and beliefs instead of One unanamious belief where we to live in Somalia. However, how unprejudiced Islam may be, I have found somali culture is more tolerent and more accepting of Males than females. For example,If A girl was to get pregnant out of wedlock, she'd be branded a wh!re, Sl!t and a B!tch while shaming her family in the process and if that girl was to say "ahmed" is the baby's father, he could easily claim that it isn't his and due to her promiscuous nature (her pregnancy being undaunted proof)she could of slept with alot of men and probably doesn't know who the father is when in actuality the baby is his or even if he says it is his and decides to marry her, they'll applaud his sacrifice in shackling himself with a "Wh@re" even though he is to blame also. i have the quran, my mom's wisdom, my father and brothers protection,a great and continuing education and the love of a good somali man, i say alxamdulilaah and live happily ever after Sweetheart , Besbaaso Macaanto The concept of "living happily ever after" is as fictitious as Aesop's Fables. A good somali man kulahaa, I guess we both know where you'd be filing your taxes this year Honey

She is older than Age Yet younger than wisdom Thou her eyes scanned Only 18 years of life Her Love knows no bounds Like a boundary that is boundless But she keeps it bounded Cause her heart cries for them Yet hate doesn't hear a sound She feels alone amidst this crowd As she walks with a measured pace her heart beating with fluid grace Like the raindrops falling synonymously As the tears streaming down their face For they've lost another to the enemy Yet love's haters chatter around about her And how young is she, to be blinded by love? I guess she loves love But truly doesn’t know love They utter so confidently No, She hasn’t met love personally They never chanced to exchange pleasantries But She feels love and love loves her And Thou you say love is blind, Her Loves vision is quite fine She wants to says yet says nothing For nothing is something at least in her mind She is loved to her heart's content Thus is content with love in her heart While Hate leaves residual weakness Lurkin in their soul like a Subterranean fault line prone to unexpected Eruption She knows it rests in a deep dark place Where it simmers and bubbles like Hot,Sulfurous Magma I guess that is why As she looks up at the Seattle sky She cries for Hate with hate yet her eyes remain dry

But since he has gone on these trips i wonder what somaliland new relationship with south africa will be, it seems somaliland has been courting africas strongest democracy for while now, i wonder will bear fruits. One can only but wonder what the relationship will be but Insha'allah I hope it becomes quite meaningful and a blessing for both parties.

Believing in a religion simply means you trust without using reason and logic. You accept it because it was ordained without a doubt . Where as, most philosophers believe Allah exists only in understanding or might be a possible being. They feel compelled to question everything even if it's deemed reasonable or logical. As Gaunilo stated "If a man should try to prove to me by such reasoning that this [God] truly exists, and that its existence should no longer be doubted,...Supposing I should allow this proof; or him (anselm who argues God is a being which none is greater), if he should suppose that he had established with any certainty the existence of this [God]." To the Muslim, that believes without a doubt that Allah exists without seeing Allah’s physical form. That knows it through his creations whether human being or animals, through Allah's books and simply in his hearts because of faith that he has, how would he refute Gaunilo’s argument or prove with certainty the existence of Allah to a philosopher? Keeping in mind he can't use "revealed knowledge" (i.e., The kutab) how would he provide proof through reason/ration that our belief is supportable? Would he be unsuccessful because he would fail to build a logical and a reasonable proof? and if he is a success, What out there in this world that can be deemed "reasonable" would support our religion in terms of Philosophy? Furthermore, I don't think there is a limit to what we can know per se but I believe that there is a limit to what we can prove using reason and logic.

The Somali are Muslims. Sufism, a mystic branch of Islam, is important for many. Sufis often achieve "ecstasy" by chanting or taking narcotics. The standard Islamic prayers are usually observed; however, Somali women have never worn the required veils. Villagers and urban settlers frequently turn to the wadaad, a religious expert, for blessings, charms, and advice in worldly matters. They believe that many spirits live in the world, and that evil spirits bring sickness by possessing their victims. Some cults have formed in an attempt to appease the evil spirits . LoL War balaaayo! That was the most hilarious thing I've ever read. Acuudi bilaahi mina shaydaani rajiim, May allah help us and safe us from their machinations.
