  1. Brown, The difference is Lesbians are feminine-men and Feminists are masculine-women Tell Brenda to get a Man. I think people are mixing up the words-respect and tolerate. You can tolerate a person without respecting them Dark, I disagree because to tolerate is to recognize and respect the rights, beliefs, or practices of others thus why you can't tolerate a person without respecting them for toleration is a form of respect. Yes. But that is people in general. We are not talking about them individually. Civil rights are individual rights thought it is for people in general. In the case of family...If your elder is a child molester, theif, wife-beater...you are supposed to respect him/her? Because it says to "respect your elders"? I guess it goes by case but by respect I don't mean hold the child molester/thief/wife beater in regard or esteem but rather respectfully get them help by respectfully dialing 9-1-1 to put them behind bars. On a serious note, respect has alot of forms and definitions than the one you mentioned. Showing patience/tolerance to an elder means you're respecting them without holding them in esteem and in regard.
  2. I see landcruisers are back with vengeance, One can't help but wonder if this government wishes to emulate the last regime in their policies/dealings as well as their method of transportation.....
  3. Originally posted by Fiance': Silence is Starvation Its not that some women dont have the choice....... Some women just Choose to endure this crap ..... Dont go around spreading that lie. Thats what they want you to believe. Who is the they you're refering to? In regards to your first statement, you make it sound as though there is an alternative choice that they are not choosing because they choose/want to endure this misogynistic crap when in actuality they don't have a choice at all. Besides would you choose to be degraded and subjected to brutality if you had a choice not to.........? Islam is a perfect religion enforcing what is right and what is wrong..there is a lot of equality for both men and women.. I agree and any muslim would agree with that statement for it is the truth but the problem isn't Islam but rather the Muslims who justify their cultural practices through Islam when those practices are contradicting the teachings of Islam and our religious doctrine. As you stated, few rarely follow Islam (in its truest form).
  4. Respect being earned and not given freely is a western concept and were we to follow that concept then we would be disagreeing with the teachings of Islam. As muslims we, dare I say are obligated to respect our elders, parents, brothers, sisters, etc. without having them earn that respect. We give it freely. Furthermore, as a human being there is a measure of respect/regard that is due to you for just being human/born, it is called civil rights. Originally posted by $187$: More females are born compared to male. The world consists of more female than male and will reportedly go up to 1 male to 50 females. Because of this we are getting all kinds of women such as lesbians. Brother, with all due respect you just explained why Feminism exists not lesbianism. Lesbians loathe men with passion so that rules out the idea they are trying to be more like men.
  5. Waa waray, Just 5? That is harsh but I'm gon' step it lightly like a woodpecker with a headache so here is my list VD (doesn't stand for Venereal Disease Poeople) and it is in no particular order. Mystic Ruby Dawaco Nin Nool Bob Jamaal

Truly poetic, Mansha'allah but just out of curiousity where can one find the soap? Or is it something to do with Salaatul Istighfaar?
  8. ^^ . Some women have no choice but to endure this crap
  9. Someone who claims to be from Hargeysa surely will not claim Gaani as their hero. I agree with Gediid on that point, Gaani (Ilaahay ha u naxariisto) was and still is hated with passion and is seen as Murderer by the people of Somaliland, so pray tell me Nayruus, what makes you, a "somalilander", view him as a Hero? If Siyad Bare comes out of the grave and wraps himself up with Somali flag, he is my hero. LoooooooooooooooL........
  10. Mansha'allah Abaayo, I have being trying to find info Tasbeeh prayer because I was unsure of the # of Rakkat. Someone told it was 2 and another 4, so I was confused anyway Mahadsanid and may allah reward you.
  11. Raula, it is so sick it makes me hurl lol but Mooney is the funniest of the lot, he even wrote materials for Pryor, he is just a comic genius. I plan on taking alot of tapes of him when I go to Garbahaaray and Tuulo Barwaaqo come Fall insha'allah. Checkmate, Farrel was funny as H!ll in Elf but he isn't funny when doing stand-up.
  12. ^^ I have heard of that rumor too, something to do with treaties he has signed, etc?? I don't know if this rumor is derived by the truth or if it is slander but it makes one quite suspicious. you can’t help but speculate if prolonged civil war was shrewdly hatched and purposefully fueled by invisible enemy? Hmmm, hatched? No but fueled.....one can't but speculate......
  13. Mansha'allah, Alas, We have a president, lets rejoice and sing from mountain top to mountain top, I will personally journey to Mt.St.Halen right now . On a serious note, it is good news to have the President home.
  14. MsWord: Love songs we recite verbatim like they were written by us Sweeter sound hasn't been heard than "Ifrah, I love you" nor could I describe fully the joy of loving you For without you love, Only freedom is none at all I pray daily, in thanks For Allah blessed me He presented, gave to me A gift I could never repay A love returned I realize, As your Golden eyes Stare deep into mine Holding me in your arms because of this gift, you love I never lack confidence For you shower me with compliments We lust but stay abstinent And though, We get mad Get detached like amputated limps We always come back together silent like two mating mimes To know you're mine Dear heart as I'm yours is like regained sight to a blind and when you tolerate My plainly Men suck Mood swings holding me as you sooth me lulling me to sleep balancing my chemical imbalance You humble me humor me and love me I adore you more than the minute before I feel happiness as I look at you Looking at me Amazement and wonderment In your eyes as seen in mine It is as though we’re connected Like the merging of two lanes Like the gathering of clouds before rain Like ultimate pleasure before pain I mean, I’m you and You’re I Our love is like an eternity for time ceases to exist As though it began And ends with you and I Love, You are like a dawn’s light After a lifetime of darkness You are a welcoming balm After a lifetime of suffering I love you as if you were me As if you were a part of me For you're a reflection of I and I of you Love, Defining our love is a task, endless Never the less… My drug of choice I fiend as you fiend I want as you want soo much at times We are unable to speak like a mute yet we communicate without words speaking a language.. So fluently only our bodies can understand Soo much at times We often grasp our watches Attempting to hold time to prolong time spent In each other’s company… For Ours, A Love story so grandeur All epics are a laugh

  16. LoooooL@Woodcock, I have a relative whose nickname is Tuuji gooryaan and another that goes by F!ck for life. Quite weird eh?
  17. Juba, I quite agree with you but I also believe he needs be subjecated to the same torture for that slip of idiocy, I wonder what he would of have said if the roles were reversed.
  18. You're not overeacting, just paranoid and you shouldn't be alarmed, just aware (I suggest you sleep with one eye open). Seriously, unless she flat out comes out and says she interested in you then you have no cause to be alarmed Abaayo. What you've listed is quite normal, I mean didn't we all as young ladies do those things and compliment each other? Didn't we ask our dear and loyal friend how our derriere looked in a certain dress or if there was anything amiss in our appreance? as teens didn't we sleep over a friends/cousin's house and discuss the insecurities or what ever hang-ups we had over our body image, wasn't it a normal occurance especially if you lived in a house full of girls (sisters/cousins etc) to see half-naked/half-clothed women parading about? I'm sure there are alot more Yes's than No's. The weird thing is, lately lesbianism has become a growing trend in our community and I seriously wonder why? hmm I guess our men aren't doing an apt job as I thought..... Sarcasm aside, from what I've noticed over the years is that most Somali girls tend to be quite comfortable in their skin with other Somali girls(since we are thought to hide any part of our flesh from the fairer sex and not one of our own unless homegirl hangs out with too many boys), because they don't entertain the idea that their friend could be a Lesbian, such a despicable word that. Could this "comfortability", if you will cause/lead a young Somali girl growing up in a western society to question her sexuality or its prefrence?
  19. Its devastating, i wonder who came up with such an idea in the first place... I think that FGM was first practiced in ancient Egypt during I believe at the time of Nabi Muse C.W (feel free to correct me cause i'm not too sure if was during Nabi Muse's time). They circumcised the women in the fashion Somalis call fircoon because the women at that time from what I gathered, were too premiscuous and cheated on their husband while they were away on trips/whatever have you and the said husbands were tired of wondering whether they fathered the child their wives were carrying or if some other man did, so they came up with a plan/way that guarenteed that their wives would remain faithful. FGM and As the years developed, the practiced expanded. It became a guarantee for families that their daughters would remain chaste. It also become like a harsher form of a chastity belt except it was on the girls own flesh. Can you imagine what is like to give birth when you are circumcised? Inaa lilaahi wa'inaa ilaahi raajacuun.
  20. Dave is crazy. Y'all remember that episode with Wayne Brady, Balaayo I almost cracked a rib and bust my gut but my fav. was when Rick James guest starred on the show, that was just beyond funny anyway here is my top 5 Bill "Real Time"Maher Paul "Every White person's Nightmare" Mooney Richard "I aint dead yet Mutha F!cker" Pryor Redd "Honey, I'm coming to join you" Foxx Bernie "I aint scared you Mutha F!cker" Mac Borwn, Ellen is a comic genius. When she was talking about her problem with procrastination in the begining, she made me fell out my chair.
  21. Fantasy somalis, I believe are those Somalis that don't have a grip on reality, Those that dream of a united Somalia if you will. But there is one thing I am glad of. It is that most of the users of those sites are people who live outside Somalia and Somaliland. And mostly articles are written in English and hence not accessible to the majority of Somalis in the domestic towns and villages of Somalia. The above qoute is why I believe the article is purposely written for those residing outside of Somalia. Somalia is I thus I'm Somalia and to Hell with Somalia that is I. Quite poetic so you are saying, correct me if I'm wrong, that when It pleases you or rather Somalia displeases, you basically stick your head in the Sand to cast of the chains of superficial loyalty and nationalism miyaa? Also, Just out of curiousity, how is the Idea that you posed sacrilegious?
  22. Snow is Dessspicable and it's also a nightmare I can do without. I happen to like the rain better, one discovers alot of things such as fun indoor activities to pass the time and lessen boredom. .i don't get it that much either...maybe 3 days of snow in a year...if that at all....let me just say u ain't missing much.....just dirty wet slush... Ms.Pepper, Doesn't it feel as though you're driving on Steven's Pass rather than just good ol' Beacon or 1st Ave when ever it snows here?

  25. Everybody wears a mask at any given time in their life, it's just that some wear it more so than other because they feel as though they have to portray something they are not or they might not know what they are. Basically one can't stay true to themselves all the time. when alone I carry no smile on my face it gets lost in the silence of the dark night and everyday the inner painting seeps through and the lost painting is finally in sight when the look in my eyes is real and my fake smile is the truth Those lines are deep like 3D. I love the simplicity of this piece though the message it carries isn't simple. I think it is one of your best poems Bob.
