It seems to me that the author is more focused on arguing against Hunnington's ideology rather than bringing forth his own. I'm curious though, so if the Clash of Civilization theory is false, how can it be self-fulling or otherwise become true? This doesnt mean the US is innocent but they are not the cause of all the problems in muslim world. I agree with you but you seem to overlook the fact, which OG pointed out, that it's the US that keeps these despotic regimes in power, and (as in the case of Iraq) when the said regimes disagree with their policies, The US morph’s into the Johnny Appleseed of democracy, and wages a war against the regime with the intention to overthrow them, supposedly in order to plant its seeds of peace and equality in the corruptive government tree so that the country might lead a healthy, just, and democratic life. Basically meaning the country and its handpicked officials become puppets thus allowing the US to insert its homogeny (which is what they sought to do in the first place!). BTW, with the debate going on about whether to pass the Patriot Act or not, it seems that US isn't really for Freedom of Speech nor Religion because if they were, the act wouldn't be debated in the first place, now would it? P.s Wasn't Hunnington's theory shot to h!ll when 9/11 happened?

Under the Gulf kingdom's strict Islamic Sharia laws, the death penalty can be imposed for murder, rape, apostasy, armed robbery, drug trafficking and repeated drug use. I was under the impression that the death penatly, according to Sharia Law, should be imposed (only?) when one was found guilty of Murder and apostasy (and even if one was found guilty, s/he had the option to repent, so that they might escape such a harsh penalty or be left alone to allah's will). Also, I'm curious! Where in the Quran does it say one is justified in excuting anybody who has been found guilty of rape, armed robbery, drug trafficking and drug use? Pray tell, How is he carrying out Allah's will? Do you get rewarded in the afterlife for killing people on earth – even if its justified. Can this man actually refuse to execute someone if he believes they’re innocent? Does he know much about the legal procedures or the particulars of a case in terms of evidence? Can he know if there was discrimination or bias towards the accused? I think, in my opinion and what I've been thought, a muslim is justified to "Kill somebody" if it's in self-defense or during Jihad. Secondly, he can refuse to excute somebody if he believes they are innocent but I hightly doubt he will because in doing so he will lose his job since the Judge and the supreme law he must uphold already have deemed the person guilty. Also, it wouldn't be wise of him to question the said system for that might lead to unsatisfactory consequences for him. furthermore, I also highly doubt he cares about the details concerning a case; After all his job is to excute not ask questions. Besides, if he starts to question the fairness of the punishments, he'd might realize that though at times he was rightfully carrying out "Allah's Will" he also murdered alot of innocent people in the process who didn't deserve such an unjust punishment.

I don't feel What I can't express nor do I express what I don't feel My emotions and Opinions Views of Mine I stand for painfully Like the aching of my sore back For Like a boundary that is boundless my pen and I Know of no bound We are, you could say without bounds I guess that is why The danger of being I A poet, is oftentimes as dangerous as being Bin Laden

If you had read the previous posts then you'd know why she posted that! and also whether she is a Somali national or not depends on your definition of Who is and who isn't.

An intensely private individual that chooses actions with care, you strive to further your own skills and powers. This happens because I choose it to happen!

One is urged to voice their disapproval, I believe, to "the person" they see/believe is acting in a "Xaram" way which in this case would be the "Somali Girl" but when one goes on the internet and airs the said disapproval then it becomes idle Gossip since the girl isn't here (and you're talking about her), which I'm sure we all agree is Xaram. So basically most of y'all are committing a sin to counter another sin.

why can not you explain the sharia without insulting entire somali population. Good Point Bilan. Both OG and Opponents are letting emotions cloud their judgement.

Viking, Do you know, with certainty, the "exact date" The Zaboor, The Torah, The Injeel and The Furqaan were revealed to us?
-
Viking, I know of no others, do you?

Understand, I'm not stating that what was done to them was right nor deserving or even if they commited what they were accused of but I'm not letting emotions run amock with my fingers either. Maybe MsWord, you forgot to read the last 7 pages. I will give you the benetfit of doubt. . Because the said crime and the punishment seem disproportionate. Firstly, the said crime and punishment seem disproportionate to you because the English laws much like the american laws are a bit different but I'm sure we can both agree that if you live in a country, you must obey its laws. If you broke the said laws then you will be punished according to the laws of the country. You object; Because they were Somalis. Because they were singled out. Because the law isnt fair and applies to some So because they are Somali they shouldn't have been punished even if the crime they were "accused of" and apparently been found guilty of, according to "Saudi" Law, is deserving of such punishment? How were they singled out? Are Somalis the only nationality being beheaded? How is the Law unfair and not applicable to all? Provide proof in support of your accusations. From the start of their incarceration, the poor Somali guys insisted they had nothing to do with the crimes they have been charged with and two of them were not even in Saudi Arabia when these alleged crimes took place. They were forced and misled to sign some documents and confess to the crimes they never commited. They didn’t understand one word of Arabic and didn’t know that they were signing their death certificates. it was a devious racist deception. Macalimuu, Do you have a source or is that based on hearsay?
-
Interesting. When you reside in a country, you must obey its laws. If you break the said laws then you will be punished according to the laws of the country. In this case, they broke a law which is punishable, according to the laws of the said country, by death so pray tell why is there such an uproar?

Viking: Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't there a Kutab revealed to the masses before the revelations of The Furqaan, The Torah and The Injeel? Mutakallim: Logic is not a belief, say you for it's a tool used to find and interpret the truth which is an understandable statement yet I can't help but ask,as a muslim, what the truth you mean to find and interpret is? Furtheremore, I'm sure you're familiar with Cleanthes', another of Hume's character in the same dialogue as Philo, argument for Design in which he argued that the World was a big machine and its design should make it obvious that there is an Intelligent Maker (i.e, God, diety) I already knew that, by just having the faith that I have, that if one looked at the design of the world they would arrive at the same conclusion (regardless if they believed that intelligent maker to be Jesus, Allah, etc) but is it because he used reason and logic to arrive at the "truth" that his "opinion" is more credible than mine and if it is then Why? Furthermore, If One puts trust and confidence in logic in order to find "truth", it's a belief Therefore, It's a belief, if one puts trust and confidence in Logic in order to find "truth" Logic is a belief because philosophers rely, trust and are confident that if they use Logic then they would find the "truth" (Valid, of course) Lets not forget that Belief is defined as The mental act, condition, or habit of placing trust or confidence in another or as Mental acceptance of and conviction in the truth, actuality, or validity of something. Logic, even though it draws a distinction between validity and the truth, according to that definition is a belief. And BTW, Correct me if I'm wrong, You say you're a Muslim, yet you state you do not need to presuppose the truth of any statement so how do justify, using logic, your believe in Allah's existance? are you not presupposing that his existance, because you're a muslim who mustn't question his existance for you submitted to his will, is true therefore not false? A Christian could equally retort, "the Bible is true and unchanged, because in the Bible it says that it is true and unchanged". The bible has been changed many many many times, one has to but look at its many versions to know that therefore that objection is dismisable for it has been changed. One can argue that The Torah is true but it mainly consists of the Scrolls, supposedly passages from the original "torah", found in the Dead sea between 1947 until 1960 therefore it's authenticity is questionable. However, the Quran has been unchanged nor is its authenticity questioned therefore it's true. As for your "eternal damnation" comment,Buddhism is, in my opinion, not complete for it neither confirms nor denies the existance of a God, Hell, Demons, etc. Buddhism along with Judaism, if either of them were The True religion, neither deny nor confirm the existance of hell (nor heaven for that matter) therefore there would be no eternal damination in hereafter for me if I died as a Muslim (Insha'allah). As for Christianity,Jesus as Christians believe died for all OUR sins thus if Christianity was "The true" religion there wouldn't be any need for Hell to exist (now would there?), so why would I "espouse that religion which is the most rational and logical" when I would be scotch free, yet again, if I died as I lived, as a Muslim. P.s No one wrote Logic is a faith.
