  1. MMA,dont you think our issues are beyond "Odey Dhaqanmeed?" I believe there was or has been such meeting your talking about, but this is beyond the under the tree meetings our ancestrals had the pleasure to indulge in.These conflicts have gone beyond tradition, religion and humanity.Do we really care or value human life anymore?
  2. Could it be that society has changed hence the changes having impacted on child rearing methods. Children require alot of intervantion, you can not bring up a child like a plant, even plants need attending too. What I mean is one has to be dedicated in every sense in the childs life.Children need to know there are boundries, there is a consequency to actions and above all they need stability, guidance etc. When I look at the result of our Chinese children in my school, despite some of them having the disadvantage of the language barrier they still outsmart every other ethnic group,a reseach done in America found out the sucess was because of the parenting skill of the Chinese parents. Children in Chinese homes are set high expectation and they better comply,as there is strict desplinary actions.Their time is divided between academic, sports and family which gives the youngester confidence in their ability and enhence their self esteem. Its unfortunate, parenting has becaume a goverment initiative rather then the parents responsibility. This is what happens when Goverments takes the role of parent..beauracy!

Our critical thinking level is not up to that level yet. After sixteen years of internal warfare, some of us are still obsessed with what resources their sub-jifo should shed blood for instead of their jifo jeopardizing the existence of the entire nation. God forbid, another sixteen years may be needed to have this tiny country of ten million to see the larger picture and realize the solution lies beyond what the sub-jifo must have. Contrary to popular belief, solution is found outside the box, out the box of the resource demands of the qabiil. Image qabiil figureheads with no or less demands! The country is full of so much unused resources and some much death and destruction over who controls them. Oh well, that is the unfortunated truth but if we were ever to change our situation then we are to start thinking critically. For us to bring change it would require intellectual skills and understanding. If critically thinking is somehow to became a generalized method to solving our situation.Believe me,it would produce a new and a different Somalia/Somaliland/Puntland and all the other Somali occupied lands .Which increasingly it will not be only of individual clans interest but a necessity to our survival as a Nation and as a People. Ayoub,is your head still hurting?

  10. My response might not be directly about the article posted but a link to the issues discussed in the article. Are we so short sighted or have we lost any common sense to the obvious and deliberated attempts of the Ethiopian Government [Meles & Co.] in its desperate attempt to destroy Somalia for its own agenda. How does one have influence over a weak people but only to use the old method of dived and conquer. Why! One would ask be the benefit of such an action to the ancient civilised country such as Ethiopia but if not for obvious reason. Let’s just for a minute step away from the issue of Somali Galbeed and the struggle of our people against this ruthless regime. Let’s look back on recent history, Meles was about to lose his office in the early days of 2001, because of the Ethio-Eritrea War. Just before that historic day of the 9/11, the then new Bush administration was in the process of reviewing US policy towards Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa region in the aftermath of the Ethio-Eritrean war, the policy would have been very tough on Meles Zenawi, if the 9/11 did not happen. But luck would have it, it happened and the new US administration scrapped whatever review it had conducted in its 8 months in office in favour of recruiting support for its war on Terrorism. The perfect opportunity for Zenawi, he just needed to consolidate his tenuous position within his ruling party who blame him for the Eritrean debacle. He grabbed this opportunity offering full cooperation to the US, to prosecute any terrorist organisations in the Horn region and in return a blind eye to the atrocities that are being committed by the Melez regime. So the invasion, the on going atrocities committed against the people of Somali Galbeend and of Somalia by Ethiopia has nothing to do with the so called threat imposed by a few Sheikhs in Mogadishu or ONLF.But what we are observing is his flexed muscles deep within our lands, our political agendas and above all our moral responsibility against one another. Why aren’t the people of Ethiopia standing up against this corrupt regime I asked a friend, his response was shocking but very insightful. He went on talking about the threat that is coming from the Arab extremists, disguised as Somali Islamists. The extremist always declared that “the land of the first hijra[Where the prophet Mohamed sent his followers’ to hide from their prosecutors]should be a Muslim land”. Strangely he added this, “these extremist also want to control the source of the Blue Nile that is a life line to Sudan and Egypt”. Because of that their large Christian population and their country in general is vulnerable to attack. So they would use what ever means to survive, keep their heritage and faith. Are we still yet in position to argue who is and who isn’t the best of friends with Ethiopia?
  11. MMA,the gentleman is a "Traditional leader" not a Military colonel, nor is he Western version of a Politician.I am sure he/others are doing their best to bring peace within their subjects.
  12. What have Somalis done for the region, but creat more unnecessary wars. I am in agreement with the article..Honestly its bloody tiring to have to be in a constant state of warfare.
  13. ^^If we had the right to say NO why invade our territory in such a manner? Second, holding a gun at their head was a metaphoric symbol to the SL army and its allies that are terrorising folks in LA.. What were you guys waiting for in the last 5yrs?
  14. Jac and Co. Can you honestly tell me that this forceful invasion will benefit and secure SL plight of separation in the long run? It is and had been obvious that this so called liberation is one of which has a wicked intention. What a shame though, I would have thought my reer Abtiyaal were over the petty tribal affiliated ambitions when it was in regard to their “Democratic” process of obtaining and maintaining their right to secession. What happened to my home town isn’t a Democratic process, it’s far from Democratic in its true meaning, then again am talking about Somalis here. Why use force/cunning ways if this region is part of SL? How is bloodshed aad shegysoo be avoided when your holding people hostage with a gun pointing at their heads?
  15. ^^Since when has a clan sentiment either high or low be a channel for greater good of any nation yaa ME?
  16. As I said your hilarious Sheekha..
  17. ^Jac the destruction has already happened,am not talking about the bricks and mortals..Am talking about something much deeper.

May be Mr. me is happy now ,,,, he was calling for a JUST WAR since Ramadan. Lol..Your hilarious Sheekha! No REFUGES baad tirii, then why did folks go back to their villages,if not because of the invansion by the aggressors!
  19. ^^A chance to do what? to gain what?..Nothing will be gained, but more destruction,if not now then some day.. I would assume the whole of SL aim was to gain its recognition as a democratic state, but from this recent episode its clearly it has been about scoring tribal points, division and so forth. Why is one suprised, after all we are all blood thirsty camel herders..What do we know about peace full negotiations or freedom of choice and democracy.
  20. Umu,Ghanima has come along way since January Masha'allah!

And that ladies and gentlemen deserves respect, hate it or love it. Well put ..... let's hope for the best. Are'nt that a revelation Shekh,so SL had been all along about scoring points on a clanish context? Khalaf,I dont know what you understand by the term "Independence","Occupation" or even the word "respect",you seem confused as ever..
