QB] ^*Hello there Zenobia* Well maybe, but there had been other generation born outside Somalia before and they continued to uphold their Somaliness at all time despite the enviroment they were at. I think this has to do with civil war, young women seeing their fathers ,brother or uncles at their weakest had probably contributed to this low self confidence in Somali men.[me think]
  2. Could it be that one expectation is slightly higher, confused by the media on what a marriage should be like but not trully understanding what it takes to make it work..[with a somali men or a non somali men] Or Somali girls have found themselves at a candy shop, too much choices at their disposal with their families approval too.In the past it used to be such a taboo to marry outside the somali race, but nowdays its almost encouraged by families. [me thinks]
  3. ^Lol,it does look like it's "War on Somalimen"..
  4. J.11 Insha'allah all will be khayr.I couldnt watch the news, these masheti wedging kenyans kind of scared the hell out of me,all I could think about is those caught up in this madness as usual the vulnerable e.g Somalis.
  5. ^^Is he allowed out tonight?

  12. Ghanima, most emotionally rewarding thing in life is knowing I have made a difference to someone's life. Can anyone be happy as a single person for the rest of their lives?
  13. Geedid, I can’t believe you picked on single mothers as if they are a disgrace to humanity, as for the taxi drivers there are many whom hold Masters and PhD but had found it hard to find jobs these include many former students from Russian, China etc. Most Somali families now and then had been of single parent household. If your protest and beef was about this woman’s appointment then you should have addressed it as so rather then being prejudice and ignorant. I don’t know this woman or anything about her background but in reality one doest have to be a PhD holder or a successful CEO to be an ambassador. Being an ambassador is usually defined as diplomacy which is that, it is the oral aspect of international relation. There is an essential difference between what is written and what is spoken, not only because spoken words are essentially more ephemeral, but because the spoken language has infinitely more nuances, being both richer and more subtle than written texts. As for this woman, she already seems to have the knack for the job...Congrats to her and her connections [The envious me speaks here] Big up for SINGLE MOTHERS! If she is one that is..
  14. ^Lol,I am just tiding up my office, waiting to have lunch and say my goodbyes to those leaving..We did our assemblies over the week. To all the SOLERS, wishing you all a Happy New Year..
  15. Dabshid, what is wrong with one desiring to marry? it has nothing to do with sex yakhii! My little heart desires to concure the ego,to stay focused on acquiring a peaceful, balanced and happy life here in duniya and to trive hard for the after.Go to Hajj with my family, especially my parents. One day to finish the world tour, I started couple of years ago.If Allah permits I would love to climb the Himalayas, camel ride across the ancient cities in Egypt, see India [to witness its diverse and interesting contrasts],The Kalahari desert and camp under the stars in Hawd, listening to my Uncles heroic moments.....and many other places am yet to visit.I'A
  16. ^You work in school's too? One more day,end one of the longest term ever..oh cant wait to be tucked in bed with a large mug of tea watching day time tv for next 18 days!! well is if my hyper active mind allows me to do that ..
  17. Yesterday at the our make shift of a Mosque the Immam had to stop the takhbeer several time to tell the Women to stop chatting and increase their dhiikr[zikri]...take a guess who were the majority of the women there, ofcourse our beloved Somalis, first they refuse to move when asked, then couldnt stop chatting loudly. Eid was good, haunted were my thoughts by the images of those starving children in Somalia. It sure feels good to be a whiner sometimes..

  22. LG,it wont make a difference dear if you snitch or not when it comes to you being taxed.. Umu zakaria , so your in support of deception? Isnt that against our belief to obtain a living by deception or isnt? I dont get this, indeed they are in the wrong to lie,and continue to lie to the point they claim their children are *******s,their husbands are boyfriends..how far would it be too far? I believe we as Muslims are encouraged to live by the sunnah of the Prophets and by the teaching in the Quran,I cant remember in any of these teaching were it says its okay to steal, lie and deceive "gaalo".We are encouraged to be honest, earn an honest living...subhanallah,wax kastaa hadaa cadii laga digoo were would we draw the line? my rant for today..
  23. ^^ I dont know when I never had not had too much going on in my head,if I were ever to reveal that to people,I would be taken to an asylum straight away..Lol Exciting might not be the correct word, but definetly it gives one a buzz..erm power perharps? aye!
