  2. Brother Nur, Dont you think,Islam and democracy have some principles in common, the respect for individual rights, liberty, equality, rejection of absolute power, limiting the role of state, and supremacy of the law? I believe Islam already offered sound and effective direction to a national life, with constitutional and representative government are well rooted in Islamic political thinking, not only in Islam’s ethical imperatives of justice, equality, and the dignity of man, but also in well established political and legal tenets concerning the conduct of public affairs , such as shura [broad mutual consultation] ,bay’a [acceptance with commitment], wikala [delegation].and ridha al-awaam [popular consent]. It is just that after the influx of westerners in the lands of the Muslims they have been able to influence, changes in our juridistial systems hence the confusion...of what is democracy and how does it operate in an Islamic country without the secular influence.. thanks for the thought provocing thread..one had to go read and research to seek the knowledge...Jazakhallah kheyr.
  3. ^Lol..Garisa must be a small town huh!.. The video was cool,a new thing for us oldies...it just seems a tad bit too western for my liking.I probably expected them to run through fields of flowers and stuff like that..Lol
  4. Sugar Love Lol@not wanting to burden him with worries for a wedding..Girl,where did you learn this from?? First let me take this moment to welcome you to SOL.. Hun.meeting a guy isnt that hard, there are decent men out there but what matters is why do you keep attracting the wrong kind of guys in the first place? You said, what is more important then the right qualities is the innitial connection[chemistry] if there isnt that then there is nothing...sis,dear one can have chemistry with any tom, dick and harry dont you know that? how is that to be more important then qualities that make him the right man for you..what if that spark dies after the first week of marriage, what then? Hun,again before you go seeking these men,do a soul searching exercise.. Cut yourself some slack will ya,and dont be too concerned about what a bunch of strangers would say or wont say. What is important is what you think of yourself...How do you view yourself? I hope I havent offended you in anyway or shape
  5. ^Its similar to the what I had observed many moons ago, while still in Africa. The groom and bride are escorted to their room, the guest, family linger outside the room..pretending to be dancing heladha..what a preculiar practise, bilaa edeeb bee ahayeen islamahasii.Apparently they wait to know if the dude was capable of doing the business or he needs help so the girl could be taken to hospital..subhanallah,what a fiasco!! 15. ^Pilau isiyo na nyama..only onion and tomatoes. I got to share this recepie for Banana Mandazi, yummy! Ingredients; To serve up to 4 people, 1 egg 2 ripe bananas, roughly chopped 2/3 cup of milk 1/2 table spoon vanilla essence 2cups of self raising flour 1 tsp bakind powder 3tbsp sugar[you can add some more if got a sweet tooth like I] vegetable oil for frying. 1.Place the egg, bananas, milk, vanilla essence, flour, baking powder and sugar in a blender or food processor. 2.Process to make a smooth batter. It should have a creamy dropping consistency. If too thick, add alittle extra milk.Set aside for 10 min. 3.Heat the oil. When hot, carefully place spoonfuls of the mixture in the oil and fry for 3-4 minutes until golden.Remove and drain on kitchen paper.. serve with a nice xawaash tea! ..cant wait to get home!
