  6. I believe since 2001 the numbers of Somalis in UK has grown significantly, for example in my little town we only had a few families in the late 90's but since then the numbers must be in their hundreds if not thousands..thanks for the influx from other European countries. And its also hard to know the exact stat as many arent on the poll registers. LX, is there an offer for free pc's?? Lol

"Or you think that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty, ailments and were so shaken that even the Messenger and those who had faith with him said, When will the help of Allah come?. Yes! Indeed Allah’s help is close!" (al-Baqarah 2:214) Subha'allah, how many of times have I wronged myself while dwelling on the mishaps in my life and the lifes of those close to me..Yet forgetting that these trials are,set to test us.

  19. “We’re getting addicted to anarchy,” said Dahabo Abdulleh, a fuel seller. ^Indeed we are, even us in the comfort of our world far away from reality on the ground seem to be high with the addiction of anarchy. Duke, its obvious you dont have empathy nor sympathy for the suffering of the people but only interested in promoting TFG,but as a human being am sure you can refrain from LOL at times yaa Duke.
  20. Unity of Somalis sounds like a fairy tale nowdays, some argue if there was ever a time when Somalis were united, forgetting history tells us there was of a time. When there were concerned Somalis whom wanted and worked hard to bring about social, economical and political betterment. They promoted a spirit of nationalism, discouraging tribalism and sectarianism. They worked hard to make the Somali language not only a common language but the working language of the Nation.During that time they were considered to be progressive people's of the world by their peers.. Where are the concerned Somalis? not those whom call for more bloodshed in the name of whatever side they support, where are those for unity, stability and peace?[i know xiin your here..lol]
  21. Touche' Ngonge..I was posting that while in training, got bored with the presentation and posted a half post..Lol The books I read by African authors might not be at your taste, then I was a geeky teenager filled with revolutionary thoughts hence most of the books I read were about change, oppression and socipolitical issues... Here; Long walk to freedom,Devil on the cross, Petals of Blood, and A grain of wheat by Ngugi wa thiogo. Things fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. Mine Boy by Peter Abraham The beautiful ones are not yet born by Ayi Kwei Armah And The Concubine, and The great ponds by Elechi Amadi My first book by a Somali author was From a Crooked Rib and Gifts by Nurudiin Farah. FB, I have been out of touch with the new breed of African writers,am sure they are as good as these of the past.
  22. Faarax, the last book I read of an African writer was this book called "When A Hyena Laughs" by Abdi Sheik-Abdi.An interesting insight into a Somali domadic lifestyle, the tradition and the battle between the young and the old. Do you think the best African Literature was writen during colonialism,as Things Fallen Apart by Chinua Achebe..? Ngonge, its a shame the African Book Centre in Regent Park has been closed,I would have recommended you go there..

OMG, you deviant, so did I! I'd forgotten all about him until now. Ha Ha..Well he is serving a life sentence in France, become a convert to Islam ,married a sudanese woman, but had since also married his lawyer..[The fascination continues..Lol] Anyone into african literature?
