  1. Ngonge, its like being in a cult, one isnt dared to be different, have their own mind and way of expressing themselves. The deleted thread, was very much A&T way of gesturing with his middle fingure..Lol,The thread that triggered this gyno thread was a very much dear agony aunt kind of thread,it was as simple as that there was no profanity nor anything that xaji xiin had to get his socks in a twist about..A normal newly married dilema!..maxaa lagadigee like he was describing "abdi's and his wife" sexual acts.. Baal let me go and read the site rules, and see what they say about writing human stories and how much can one be an individual here without being forced to comform or else. ps.Afro xaal qaado abaaye, you were just there at the wrong time this morning dear, nothing personal. [sawa?]
  2. ^Come on' where you not laughing and enjoying exchanging comments with him just few days ago? This is bullying to the max wallahi! I dont know what world you people live in,where human life and their madness doesnt occur. The Gyno story might have just been the kind of reading one will not want to read on this holy month of ramadan but nevertheless it highlights how human abuse each other. Its a common dilema, even here you dont see your male doctor for internal check up without having the nurse there,to assure no foul play by the doctor..so people shiid happen in real life,we might want to be walking around with our tinted glasses and assume everthing is all honky dory but it isnt. As for the imoral issue of the story, come on how many of you read explicit books, music, watch movies where one is bombarded with imoral images, thought provocking etc but heck actually we go.."xaaax did you see Brad in troy, he just look devine..what does that say about our morality then?" Double bloody standards!
  3. CL,poa! Wacha niachie ngazi sasa nikatafute mlo wa badae.
  4. ^You were hurt by his comments? *while adjusting her glasses, looking all serious* A&T it will cost you just under a hundred dollar to have counselling, can you afford before we consume this conversation?
  5. ^ Ah,where are my manners today toloow!,forgot to say hi to CL.. Hello Mpendwa, mambo?

  8. Sayid,we the women know where to wear the bling bling diraac and where to where the Abaaya,so the answer would be casual/asturaan attire. ps.no perfume either or make up, unless one is seeking to be proposed to ..Lol
  9. Unknown var borde du? Time is flying today and yet I havent finished what I need to do. Oh,in these meetings we usually have several groups of people[mainly men],the new breed of proffesional taxi drivers[the mr know it all,the loud so and so's] then we have the has been[former somebodies in Somalia], then you have the sheikh's[ some being the talabaan wannabe's]Then you have the Odeyal[they can talk alot of bull, but mascared it with some mahmah],then there the "educated proffessionals"[council workers, translaters, and ofcourse moi ]..The last group but not the least the two or three women whom came to just sit there, the elder will contribute her wisdom the rest sit there looking pretty and being at the receiving end of endless teasing from all the men including the wadaads..lol
  10. ^That reminds me of an informal meeting I attended, all the guys[somalis] turned up in suits and ties, minus the briefcase! It was an informal meeting discussing the community needs..lol why wear a suit to such a meeting..Lol Afternoon people..
  11. KK, Happy Birthday! and Welcome aboard just follow this sign to where you need to register for your pension on SOL >>>>>>>LOL.. PS; The Joy of Women (Over 30) This is for all you girls 30 years and over.... and for those who are turning 30, and for those who are scared of moving into their 30's...AND for guys who are scared of girls over 30! This was written by Andy Rooney from CBS 60 Minutes. (NOTE: This was e-mailed to me so I'm not sure if Andy Rooney wrote it or not - but it's still true regardless.) Andy Rooney says: As I grow in age, I value women who are over 30 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why: A woman over 30 will never wake you in the middle of the night to ask, "What are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think. If a woman over 30 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it! . She does something she wants to do. And, it's usually something more interesting. A woman over 30 knows herself well enough to be assured in who she is, what she is, what she wants and from whom. Few women past the age of 30 give a damn what you might think about her or what she's doing. Women over 30 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you, if they think they can get away with it. Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated. A woman over 30 has the self-assurance to introduce you to her women friends. A younger woman with a man will often ignore even her best friend because she doesn't trust the guy with other women. Women over 30 couldn't care less if you're attracted to her friends because she knows her friends won't betray her. Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 30. They always know. A woman over 30 looks good wearing bright red lipstick. This is not true of younger women.[You rock that hair colour] Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 30 is far sexier than her younger counterpart. Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one! You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her. Yes, we praise women over 30 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed hot woman of 30+, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year-old waitress.
  12. ^OZ, Ramadan Mubarak brother,Alhamdulillah hali nzuri.
  13. ^To get the pure pleasures of a young woman the old geezer should be more tolerant of her demands..lol
  14. A&T, Perhaps, but I find the "Somali Walac" just a tad bit exagurated sometimes. The light thing could be annoying really,if one is trying to sleep but then that should allow compromising,Abdi could linger longer in the living room reading, talking on the phone etc while the Mrs gets a peaceful sleep. Who decided,7 is the inside bedroom time?
  15. A&T,how big is "Mr Abdi's" house, can he have a study den? And how long was he a bachelor hence his wanting to talk of the phone whilst in bed?
  16. Lol@Sayid,you didnt upset me walaal..You just said a typical Somali thing to say dee..Lol,I would be honoured if an ambitious young man knocks on my door for my daughters hand in marriage one day.. Norf, A doze of reality is always good, but you should also remember nothing is permanent too, the situation in Somalia will not forever be as it is.The changes will come one day,and the more the need of those in Diaspora[in any field] to contribute in its development too.
  17. I see still nothing worthy has been offered.. A&T change your tittle and you shall be adviced..lol
  18. ^I know he doesnt mean harm, but too bad he had to go there. Sayid, you started a topic which has generate a discussion then you go and get petty..
  19. Too bad,I am an islaan would have given you good advice on how to tackle this situation ,too bad.. *Leaving the thread feeling all smug*
  20. ^Ya all thinking small.. Norf, Wanting to initiate positive links with country of origin shouldn’t be a hindrance to holding prominent positions in the host country, I believe it should be encourage rather then discouraged. We [somalis] might not be Indians or Chinese but by heck we can learn from them how they have successfully been able to contribute greatly to their countries of origin and yet being at the top of the charts in their host countries. Look at the Indian Diasporas nurturing links with India through culture and business which has made them a force to be reckon with worldwide in all sort of fields. The Chinese experience of building business networks and connections amongst the overseas Chinese has helped build huge business all over the world, even so their government set up special economic zones and gave preferential treatment for overseas Chinese to invest in their homeland which by the end of 2001,overseas Chinese invested nearly $300 billion in China. This young boy’s dream of opening a fish & chip shop should be encourage, his dream will generate income for the fisher man, the farmer, the local merchant etc etc.. In the 70's there was a great movement by the Educated and business orientated Somalis from East Africa going back to the mother land to either work or start business. I know a gentleman that own pleanty of real estate in East Africa he had a whole street buildt in Somalia..Marka this boy is absolute on the mark, shame the grown men dont think like him..
  21. I would say the boy has firm attachments to both countries,Somalia as his future and past in conjuction with his present Britishness! Ah,a well rounded young man.I mean if one is to say what is British culture, fish and chips come to mind so mahaa? North, How could you say the children should forget about somalia and concentrate on their achievement,I believe for one to achieve one has to be in great mind set..Somalia or being Somali offers an identity, a sense of belonging.Actually its encouraged that educators should appreciate and respect the rich and diversity of backgrounds pupils bring, the more a child feels secure within themselves the greater the results.. Sayid, why concentrate on his physical appearance, rather then paying attention to the underlining issue,"his sense of belonging" ? ps.I like this kid
  22. Okay @ A&T. I am off too,cheers folks!
