  8. As this has turned out to be Q&A thread, here is my question. Part of the curriclum in Art at key stage 3 is for the, pupils to explore their personal identity. Then they create images that reflect their ideas of themselves, working from observation, memory and imagination. They develop skills using traditional materials and processes and have the opportunity to combine traditional and digital media. They learn about the ideas, methods and approaches used by other artists who have made images of themselves and/or portrayed others. Now, is creating Images of one self or other living creatures Haram? I have been having dialogue with a group of 12yr old boys whom had refused to take part in the Art lessons. Now my understanding of this is if one has NO INTENTION of worshipping or doing something haraam with it, then the images one have created are not haram.[Allahu Ya Allam] Am I wrong in my understanding?

Would you look? ^Correct!, I meant,he was at least honest that he would not only look but stare[che's own words] I wouldn't look directly but if am honest perhaps steal a glance [its natural to be curious]

  11. ^ , ruunta aan kuguu jecelyahay..
  12. I am in a slow mode now, nothing is making sense nor can I be bothered...2hr before I go home though.
  13. ^such a show off with your afsomali.. , never heard of any other name then macawiis.
  14. LOOOL@skuna,OMG! CL,you have reminded me of days gone by..Hehe,I had red skuna, whenever I look at a particular picture me wearing them,I usually think darn,I was so mshamba! She,waa bilaa ramadan some of them.
  15. ^ Now some news to share, perhaps you all know already; When you get your payslips most of you will see a change to your Tax Code upwards by 60 (equivalent to £600 worth of earnings before you pay tax) this is Alistair Darling's compensation for removing the 10% tax band and changing the 22% down to 20% but reducing the level to £34800 when you start paying at 40%. A basic normal tax code is now 603L which means £6030 in earnings before you start paying tax. September is the accumulated effect of these changes back to the start of the tax year in April. October will thus have a lesser effect on the amount of tax you pay. Nice, good timing too with Eid on its way.
  16. Sayid, woow! what a greeting, lakiin dee iga daa mpenzi, you dont want the sister to be divorced by my her online husband Ngonge,LOL. I understood it in the clinical sense am sure,A&T's implied meaning might be very innocent one. Well a woman who love too much is almost psychotic about her love for a man.She can be treated like a doormat and yet still in love. She could obsessively be jealous and paranoid, believing that is love.. CL,mpendwa mambo?
  17. ^You people are fast! A&t,I so wish I could have few minutes with the "friends wife" gabadhuu is suffering from a sydrome well as "Women who love too much" a doze of what real is love and obsessive behaviour tutorial ayee ubahantahay. Morning all!
  18. ^Sleeping early after taraweeh, then waking up an hour and half early, to pray salatu layl then read quran before farj prayers. This ramadan,I would say I have been reading the Quran with meaning..I pondered on a number of surah's,read them over and over, reading the translation after every recital. One Surah that has sunk into my pschic this ramadan would be surat Al Rahman, probably my favourite surah, it not only has a very deep meaning - to ponder upon the creations of Allah - but also in Arabic how it rhymes so beautifully. Almost every other verse the same question is asked - Which of the favours of your Lord will you deny? Subhanallah!
  19. ^I love the Eid Morning feeling,I am trying very hard to give my daughter the same experiences I had of Eid. You see thats the tradition, I grew up in.A week before Eid.Aabo would have already bought the goat for slaughtering, clothes buying and the dramas of that would be on full swing. My Ayeyo would be seeking ingredients for xalwa and using her expertisism in Indian sweets she will also make ladu and pera. The day before Eid the whole house used to go through a transformation, new curtains, a lick of paint here and there. Henna on late at night, plastic cover on both hands and legs so you dont mess the bed sheets..lol[no room for design there] The morning, consisted of racing each other to have the morning shower, the adults would have been up before the farj adhaan,.. Everyone gone to the mosque, the breakfast cooking is in full swing. Once we are all back plus any other people that had been dragged from the mosque..The Eid Eating starts,we as kids get ready[loved to do the plate exchange,as I would have access to anything give back by the neighbours].Ofcourse by this time, one is glamoured up, pins everywhere to hold my frizzy hair, the new shoes pinching my toes but I wasnt complaining,as in the mornings is the only time to accumulate your Eid Mubarak money too.. Am lucky here too, I have a good network of friends from different cultures, and majority are from back home.So we continueing the tradition hasnt been too hard.
  20. ^Ah! found memories! If am alive next year[i'A],Ramadan will fall during my vacation and I have full intention of going home for ramadan, I miss the sounds and smells and images of ramadan and Eid. Norf, its done in some parts of Tanzania as well..
  21. Indeed its depressing and frustrating, when every day one is bombarded with fresh news of atrocities/destitution of fellow country men and women. The news of the atrocities and injustice across many Islamic countries, are painful to observe,What is one to do? Just continue to feel frustrated and depressed? One should pray for them, give to charities that are known to be working in those areas. The Prophet [sAW]]said: "The dua of a Muslim for his brother (in Islam) in his absence is readily accepted. An angel is appointed to his side. Whenever he makes a beneficial dua for his brother the appointed angel says, 'Aameen. And may you also be blessed with the same.'" [sahih Muslim]. I was just lecturing my daughter about thinking and being in remembrance of those behind you, rather then being focus on those before you in terms of 'worldly wealth'..[i dont know how much she comprehended as I was waving my hands too much, and my voice getting too emotional,am sure she was wondering, when is this woman gonna burst in tears]
  22. ^5min to go, whooo! Erm this is not the usual Malika, but her twin sister..
  23. For Eid am going all traditional, from spring cleaning the house top to bottom, to changing the curtains, cushion covers.Doing the henna patterns, cooking all night to feed all those single people am intending to drag from the mosque. The the usual plate exchange we do,exchanging sweets and delicious snacks with neighbours and relatives..After all that,I start my usual eid greetings ,an opportunity to eat some more especially lunch[i dont cook lunch on Eid].All that Inshaallah! I feel sad though, ramadan is ending.
  24. ^Naa anaa islayabee, caudhubillah! Alright, this is my last trolling on ramadan,I made a promise to myself to stay focus, see you all I'A after ramadan. Early Eid Mubarak to you all!
  25. CL..What is this new obessession with nuune, you dont want the old man to get jealous and start flying lesson at his age.. Am fasting,Am fasting@ CL
