Alamaganow, beryahaan waxaa soo baxayey dad aan maskaxdooda ku shaqeeynin. Waxaad arkeeysaa dad iska aamusanaa ama cambaareeyn jirey "dawlada da-ba******ka labaad ee soomaaliya" oo hal maalin si wadajir ah bogagan ku soo qoro inaay taageersanyihiiin dawladda. Waxaase yaab leh in qaarkooda aay yiraahdaan " maadaama madaxweynaha blalalaland uu sheegay inuu taageersanhay dawlada (asagoo eegeyaa doorashada Dr. Cumar Sharmarke) waxaab taageerayaa dawlada hoteel jiifka ee soomalia." Meedey maskaxdoodi? Allamaganoow; riwaayada ugu qosol badan oo aan maanta maqlay waxaay ahayd; in madaxweyne Dr. D(aboole) [inta ka horeeysay maanta Faroole ayaan ugu yeeri jiray laakin uma qalmo magaca faroole)uu shir jaraaid qabtay oo ku cadeeyey in uu dacwo ku soo oogi doono Amin Caamir. Markaad aragto nin madaxweyne isku sheegayo oo aan u dul qaadan karin "kaftan" balla soo socot-oo heegan ahaw; gaashaanka qaado!

General Duke of SOL welcomes the appointment of Omar AbdiRashid as PM
Coloow replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Fariidow, I guess you have not read what I wrote on the eve of the selection of hotel-sharif I was equally critical. If you read my contributions on SOL you will realise that I detest tribalism and what it stands for (so do your homework) Hal booli ah nirig xalaal ah ma dhasho. This is a bad copy of the TFG. Don't you find it surprising that somalis at this period of our life cannot make up their minds at once. most of the SOL members who are on record today supporting the TFG (version II) were one week ago very critical. Now some of them have the guts (maybe *********) to claim that they are extending their support because the prime minister hails from their l-a-land (which in fact is a lie; the dude is A xamari): some of them even claim to do this because a dictator in the making (Dr. D-aboole) [who is suing Amin amir} has said so. -
Originally posted by Cabdirashid Cali Sharmarke: The appointment of the new Prime ministers seems to have agitated many clanists, why exactly do they have problem with both shieck sharif and ina cabdirashid? Both are educated and good men. Al shabab's has no relevance in somalia, are they gonna wage jihaad on fellow somali's now?if they are smart, they will join shieck sharif's government and be part of a national army and rebuild the tattred remains of the somali republic. Somalia finally has the right and practical leadership we've been waiting, let's make something of it. Educated? does that make them good leaders? Good men? how do you know?

This is very shameful, using academic titles that you did not earn don't you think? Maryooley meexey ka garaneysa Poli Sci? Political Science is a Social Behavioral science along with other fields like journalism, economics, anthropology, sociology, geography... Now how on earth did you determine that Political Science is the least prestigious. Perhaps you did not realize that most law school student's undergrad was Poli Sci. Or that most of the leaders of these country have a backround in Law and Poli Sci. Just because we Somalis make a national pastime does not mean its less "prestigious" anything else out there. Another thing, Ph.D Means Doctor of Philosophy, that means there are people out there who are doctors not necessarily working in hospitals. Gosh Oh boy, naxar nugaaleed; you have no idea what you are talking about bro. This is something that I have good knowledge on. "social behaviourial science"? nonsense! I have studied at many universities across the globe and the division looks like something like this Mr. Einstein: Sociology (the oldest), economics, geography and political science are mainly part of the social science faculties. Pyschology is ambigious because it is sometimes refered to as behaviourial sciences and sometimes social sciences. Journalism, history, anthropology, law , theology, linguistics etc are in the humanities. In addition, bibliometric studies (if you know what it is (google) show it, average score to study political study is generally lower than many of the social sciences- not to mention the impact factor! Perhaps this is because it " social behaviourial sciences" Undergraduates can take any courses; an economist for instance can taken law courses ( I have taken courses in Russian language and american tot law- although I am neither a linguist nor a law student) -- but that does not change a thing. About the medical doctor, that was not the issue. If you are a true academic and not a "lost undergrad" you may know what we are talking about sxb. Something tells me that you are of the "dottores" out there Juje; I met the guy once and he did not use the title. But for us somalis it is not what perceive of ourselves that matter; check every clan based website and you will read Dr.... Sigmund Freud would have loved somalis. To the others; almost every title is abused.

Good analysis; I guess most of the SOL members are consulting with their respective clans to gage a common stand on this piece. It seems that free thinking capacity is a scarce commodity among our people. So, I guess it will take a few months before you get a serious discussion; on the other hand there is the risk of flooding it; one liners, copy and paste; smile here and there; angry face.

Two questions 1: Who are you? a narcissist? 2: Would you have supported him if he was not from "Puntland" and if president (dictator in the making "D-aboole") wouldn't have endorsed him? -
Tribalists all over somalia (specially from Muqdisho) never stop to surprise us: If he uses the stick he is a tribalist if he uses the carrot he is a tribalist too! typical twisted logic of somalis. Meiji adiga af gaalo ama af islaan ku hadal maandhow; what do you want him to do(say)?

Allamaganow, Ishaad ka turtay sxb. "there is none so deaf as those who will not hear"

This ****ole guy is a dictator in the making; a classical trait of dictators is that they hate creativity (satire included)and become thought police. When the selected president Hotel-jiif Sharif was leading the IUC he is reported to have cursed Amin Amir; that should have raised eyebrows. It wouldn't surprise me if Sheikh sharif also "intuu shir jaraaid qabto oo dacwo ku soo oogo". Amin Amir's work (save the days he glorified Siad Barre) is what keeps us from being insane in the membrane. He depicts our joy, despair and situations in a fine manner.

Xamar Gale, My way of thinking (I could be wrontg) is this: It is the problem hotspots in somalia that should be satisfied; with a president from Muqdisho and a prime minister (that many claim to represent Puntland)there will still be reason for those opposing the government to say "maxaan idin sheegnay?". It is not about who is better to run a country bro; that is an alien thing in somali politics; it is finger pointing politics; and in my opinion Sheikh Hotel has missed a golden opportunity to lure the residents of the deep south. Puntland is not run by renegades and I am positive that they would have also accepted if the prime minister was anywhere in Somalia. Abwaan; you got me wrong bro: I am not from those areas I mentioned; I am just having a pragmatic approach that is good for somalis; where he comes from is not important to me or you; but it matters in the eyes of the places I mentioned; besides it would have eroded the political support base. Yes, now Robow et al are going to tell those people; look the so called 4,5 formula is actually a 2.0 formulae. Madoobe will be viewed as a weak man; and this government will not gain the support of the regions that matter. Abwaan; come on sxb where did I say I oppose this guy because he comes from an X-region? It is not about judging the guty (in fact, I know him personally- and in a sane somalia I would be happy if he was the president). But we are talking about Somalia anno 2009 and it is not competence that is valued rather it is about making sure those oppose the TFG II will be brought into the mould.

Day by day, hour by hour, it becomes apparent that Sheikh Sharif (better known as Hotel-jiig madaxweyne)is more concerned with the title of the president than doing something about the ills of Somalia. His selection and his appointment of his Prime minister resembles the presidency of Abdiqasim salaad Hassan (both of them were given the trust of somalia because somalis were said to want a clean man for the job). If we need change (and I guess that is what most of us want) we need to look beyond substanceless tribal politics and adopt a paragmatic approach based on reconcilation, mending fences and bottom up. The problems of somalia are many and complicated; but the southern part of somalia is where the problems are; where there are forces that have opposed sheikh sharif and where a political gesture would have perhaps increased the political capital and the legitimacy of the TFG II. The son of Abdirashid Ali sharmarke (he is a somali and as such deserves to be named prime minister) but his appointment will not result in the TFG marching into Baydhabo, Xudur, Bardheere, Buulo Xaawo, Kismayo, Buaale and Marka. In fact, the resistance to the government is likely to increase in the above areas; and before you know it, this bad copy of the TFG will only command the southern side of Mahadaay village. The Hotel president should have been shrewed and appointed someone who commands political capital in say Baydhabo or Kismayo. Now this may not have solved the problem but it would surely show that there is a desire for change. Alternatively, Mr. Hotel jiif would have appointed someone from Muqdisho (and stress that Muqdisho needs to be tamed and in the process become another LALALand. We are doomed to continue of the same path as before. There is no change of dress; only some new faces. I wish Abdirashid's son and hotel president the best of luck: but my prediction is this; a lot of traveling to western and arab capitals; some few buranburs by the diaspora; some few wasiir la magacaaba (and the drama that follows); a few clashes here and there; and finally in 6 months a change of prime minister; Xildhibaan's using " Mooshin" to do this and that; incremental conflicts here and there; Which leads to another so called peace process. So what is the root cause of this disease? tribalism (the hotel-jiif president in his first interview said there was not problem withh tribalism par se but how it used !!!!!). this kind of reasoning is what brought us the problem; and a president suppporting the logic of tribalism in this modern age is a sign that we are in for a new division.
-
I am not a supporter of the "hotelpresident" but if he is to last more than Abdullahi Yusuf, he needs to "select" someone from Bay/bakool, jubbooyinka and Gedo. We know that President hotel iyo dhoof jecel already commands some support north of Muqdisho. He could surprise us and even gain support from the likes of me if he selects someone from Somali Galbeed, NFD and Djibouti or even top somaliland leaders!. How about that? If he does that I promise to be like Duke was during the TFG (feed you with daily feeds ).

Is it not possibly that this marxuum's murder has nothing to do with politics? maybe a disgruntled employee; neighbour, love gone sour; revenge for past issues; robbery gone bad; the hypotheses could many. P.s if only we could dedicate a word (not a sentence, not a topic, not a page) but a word for every somali who has murdered the last two decades, this site would have crushed!

Prove what? that tribalism a la somalis is not sanctioned by Allah? That does not need to be proved, does it?

Habar fahdisa legdin la fududaa! HOL waxooda waa af waa ko may liki aamee. These buggers and the clan based puntland and somaliland "parliament" should be disbanded; it seems that every f...... area has some gole, gurte disguised as a legitimate voice for the people. Neither HOL nor I can do it practically though! sad! P.s aniga waxaan doonayaa inaan sameeyo golaha gurtada gadoodsan- yaa igula jira?

Peace caravan v1.3: absorbing alshabaab peacefully in Sharif’s Somalia.
Coloow replied to xiinfaniin's topic in Politics
Khayr lol@sheikh hotel. Good one! Xiin, welcome back. I thought you accompanied "president hotel" to Adis The bottom line, it does not matter whether Sheikh Sharif is selected the president of somalia, whether he becomes a globetrotter (war heedhe, why do the shariif's love traveling? Shariif Xasan was everywhere!)or whether he has a good record. What matters for many is the return of peace in southern somalia. There is an unprecedented euphoria surrounding his selection (SOL's sage, A&T has even endorsed him) but my guess is that the manner of his selection and how things are today on the ground in somalia witness of one thing; a bad copy of doofareey). Sheikh shariif will be/has been seduced by the urge to have power; this is the key to somalia's problems. Instead of sending a clear message that his adminstration will be different, this hotel jiif commenced his presidency by thanking the warlords who selected him ( I lost respect when he said "walaalahayaal" bloody hell! He should have sent a clear message; thugs your time is up! On a more practical level southern somalia appears to be peaceful compared to what it has been the last few years; From Buulo Xaawo to the shores of Banaadir; from Raas kambooni to ceeldheere. It was not sheikh shariif who ensured the return of peace; other people did it; call them islamists, al-shabaab- al kebab, religious entrepreneurs, ahlu jini wa jan but there is an air of peace in the air. Baydhabo janaay iyo nawaaxigeeda (the no go area the last years appears to have witnessed peace).. Where does President hotel come into this picture? Oorta dhaanka ahayd (peace cravan seeking momentum) markaay la soo dhaamiyey oo aay ku noqotay reerkii aay dhaanka u sidey, waxaay la kulmeen roob da'ay; biyihii aay sideen waa dhanaan oo dadkii oomanayaa waxaay cabeen xareed. Laakin soomalidda waxaay ku maahmaahdaa kaadi badne waa loo gogol badshaa; marka bal aan sugno isbuuc kale -
Ngonge, I have a hectic schedule and cannot engage in your "straw man" approach. We shall go nowhere if you keep on attacking the messenger instead of the message. This thread was started to gage a debate; and your first reaction was "stuff and nonsense". You should have at least addressed some of the issues I raised. It is a rude and childish way to respond- don't you think? Alternatively, if you felt that it was "stuff and nonsense" you could ignore it. 1: If you read what I wrote above, I have apologised for generalising- and Mr. Nuur has corrected me on that (albeit in Somalia to which you have a visible handicap) 2: My stance is clear; Somali tribalism has no justification in the Quran (that is my main point Einstein) Marka naga xidh maandhow!

Why not? Since the Djibouti process appears to be a bad copy of the Doofaarey process, it wouldn't surprise me if they move it Eyl, Bandar Qasim, Xiis, Meydh; buhoodle, or even Mahadeey. My choice is on a ship off the coast of Hobyo

This Shaweeye has the characteristic of a jagadoon at best and a warlord in the making at worst. A few months ago he was claiming that the AMISON and Ethiopian forces fire on people as a last resort; he was also on record condemning those who fought xabashis. This event shows us that Sheikh Sharif has a moutain to climb. What is the comment of our hotel jiif president on this massacre?
