  2. Originally posted by General Duke: loool. Destroyed? Which one? Farax_Brown, we all know you are a serious clanist, but I never knew you would go this low and insult cowardly a man you can easily confront in the streets of Minneapolis. Coward's act. Omar Jamal is an honourable man who has done nothing but good work for the Somalis in Minneapolis over the years. He stood side by side with Somalis from every clan. He is the most media savy Somali individual in North America. No other person has received more media conversation than Omar Jamaal. Search google. FB, Omar Jamal has always been helping your clan members who are a minority in Minneapolis and you know it. Don't come to SOL to insult this great community organiser out of clan hate and jelousy. His record is out there for everyone to see it. You have shamed yourself. In that debate, Omar Jamal destroyed the fat dude and everyone can see it. The fat brother went on TV to pass nonsense from Dayniile.com as debate material. It was embarrassing to say the least. I hate when simple-minded ****** go on the air waves thinking they can debate others with the few dimwit-feeds they memorize from holy dayniile.com. First of all Duke,Stop with the insulting and name calling. The Nomad in that debate is a silent member of SOL & as such, you are in violation of the rules. I have reported your post to the ADMIN & i hope he takes actions. Secondly,You are confused,as always. You always believe anyone and everyone who is against the TFG & pro Asmara is from one clan. I dont belong to "my clan" whatever that clan is,altho i believe you mean Abdiqasins clan. Thirdly, Only you and your likeminded lot of the discombobulated will say something about being a minority in a foreign land. But,if i may induldge you and be like you,i will have to remind you that the TFG supporters are a fraction of the people who are against the TFG. But,since your mental clock stopped in 93,you keep talking about certain clan. Fourthly, Omar Jamal was once a good somali activist, but today,he is a mad man, Literally. A man who has ;egal issues and no freinds at all,Even his family has abandoned him(I am sure You know the story about his family,so let me not go into it). Last but not least. I think you should keep your cool.

The opposition is actually asking for a dialogue and they have accepted to accept a govt of national unity. But,they want to be assured that this coalition is a transitional period that will enable a change in the constitution. Kibaki is not serious about a real dialogue that will lead to a change in teh constitution. The thing is,There is one powerful tribe that wants to dominate the rest of the remaining 41 tribes and these other tribes are not ready to do that. in just 5years, the country has seen a lopsided economic growth that ignored EVERYONE else except the Kikuyus. Factories, processing plants, loans and all important jobs went to one single tribe. The rest of country is dead. In 5years, they stole almost as many as Mois 24year rule. Waa wax aan maskax galeynin. Imagine that? Moi has been stealing for 24yers and they topped him in like 2years. Hadii tan loo daayo(Day light robbery), who is gonna stop the next guy from doing the same thing? or better yet, will they ever relinquish power? We MUST stop this fellows and teach them a lesson for the coming generations. In anycase,Why should the opposition budge? WHY shouldnt the west call out for the stepping down of a thief? WHy are they adamant on a political dialogue when all the poll watchers said the polls were fixed? They are calling for Mugabe's resignation, why shouldnt they do the same for KIBAKI? Tuug tuug dhalay and they need to accept defeat.
  4. Kenya has gone to the DOGS. Thanks to America, they have allowed a tyranical thief to be sworn in as president. Cidaan meeshay walaaqdo,ma hagaagto. Today,an Opposition MP was killed and another one killed 2days ago. 2 MPs la qaarijiyey, you tell me how this will help out a negotiation? Man.......Things are REALLY bad in Kenya
  5. The US, EU and other democracies are accepting flawed and unfair elections out of political expediency, Human Rights Watch says in its annual report. More..... HRW said Pakistan, Thailand, Bahrain, Jordan, Nigeria, Kenya and Russia had been falsely claiming to be democratic. The World Report 2008 summarises human rights issues in more than 75 nations. 'Playing along' In the report, HRW said established democracies such as the US and members of the European Union were increasingly tolerating autocrats "claiming the mantle of democracy". It seems Washington and European governments will accept even the most dubious election so long as the 'victor' is a strategic or commercial ally Kenneth Roth HRW Executive Director World Report 2008 (5.5MB) "In 2007 too many governments, including Bahrain, Jordan, Nigeria, Russia and Thailand, acted as if simply holding a vote is enough to prove a nation 'democratic', and Washington, Brussels and European capitals played along," it said. "The Bush administration has spoken of its commitment to democracy abroad but often kept silent about the need for all governments to respect human rights." HRW Executive Director Kenneth Roth said it had become too easy for autocrats to get away with mounting a sham democracy "because too many Western governments insist on elections and leave it at that". ELECTORAL MANIPULATION Outright fraud: Chad, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Uzbekistan Control of electoral machinery: Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Malaysia, Thailand, Zimbabwe Interfering with opposition candidates: Belarus, Cuba, Egypt, Iran, Israel, Libya, Turkmenistan, Uganda Political violence: Cambodia, Congo, Ethiopia, Lebanon Stifling the media and civil society: Russia, Tunisia Undermining the law: China, Pakistan Source: Human Rights Watch "They don't press governments on the key human rights issues that make democracy function - a free press, peaceful assembly, and a functioning civil society that can really challenge power," he added. HRW said the West was often unwilling to criticise the autocrats for fear of losing access to resources or commercial opportunities, or because of the perceived requirements of fighting terrorism. "It seems Washington and European governments will accept even the most dubious election so long as the 'victor' is a strategic or commercial ally," Mr Roth said. Aid donors HRW highlighted Pakistan as an example. It said the US and UK, its largest aid donors, had refused to distance themselves from President Pervez Musharraf, despite his "tilting the electoral playing field" by rewriting the constitution and firing the independent judiciary ahead of February's election. In terms of the United States and this administration... I don't think there's any question about where we stand in terms of promotion of democracy Sean McCormack US State Department spokesman It also argued that Washington's acceptance of the result of the Nigerian election in February 2007, "despite widespread and credible accusations of poll-rigging and electoral violence", had encouraged the Kenyan government to believe that fraud would be tolerated in December's presidential poll. And it said the US and some allies like Britain and France had made it harder to demand other countries uphold human rights by committing abuses themselves in the "war on terror". The German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and other European leaders were criticised for their reluctance to allow Turkey to join the EU, despite its improved human rights record. HRW said the EU "lost leverage itself and diminished the clout of those in Turkey who have cited the prospect of EU membership as a reason for reform". Atrocities Among the countries where the watchdog said human rights atrocities had been committed were Chad, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Iraq, Somalia, Sri Lanka and Sudan. Burma, China, Cuba, Eritrea, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam were criticised for severe repression and closed societies. When asked about the claims made by HRW, US state department spokesman Sean McCormack said he had not seen the report, but insisted his country did not promote false democracy and condone human rights abuses. "In terms of the United States and this administration speaking up in defence of, and advocating for, and putting its effort behind its rhetoric, I don't think there's any question about where we stand in terms of promotion of democracy," he told reporters.

  8. An interesting TV debate took place in MN tonight. This TV debate pited Omar Jamal,(The self proclaimed Lawyer, even tho he has never seen the inside of a law school)VS Mohamed Aden Tiicey, a Mankato State Public Adminstration Grad student. Omar Jamal at one time in the debate got so frustrated and called Tiicey, the VP of United Somali Diaspora, "Terrorist" to which Tiicey said and i quote: "I am a good citezen with no felony in this country unlike you"(referring to Omar Jamal's trouble with the laws). You guys watch it...... VIDEO OF OMAR JAMAL VS TIICEY

It's not manly, he is only doing what others before him have done. If I am correct, Mr Darcy was standing next to her. LoL@speak for yourself. Some of the things Um Z mentioned were a bit cliche though. The bended knee, restuarnt thing on Valentines days is very much puke inducing. What this highlights Adam is that everyone has preferences and if you are ready to ask someone to marry you then you should know their preferences. So,you like to be roughed up and asked "naagteyda ma noqonee"? L0L,intixan sanidinaaa gabdhoy!
